I had heard about this place and wanted to try it for ages so, on a trip to Glasgow popped in for lunch. Firstly, parking is a bit tricky - it's on the main road with double yellows along the whole road (albeit some people just parked half on, half off the road and pavement. I ended up parking on the parking bays in the in the road opposite this place which meant a 5 mins walk and a run across the road in between the cars! I wasn't sure if it was open as one of the 2 doors was closed but I think it was to keep the heat in. As my title suggests, don't expect frills and table service with a pleasing ambience! There's no-one to greet you and show you to your table and no background light music! Sparse would not adequately describe the decor - functional would be more appropriate but, most importantly, clean. There's a counter to the left (behind the front window with the hanging meats) with a small menu taped to the top of the table and small fridge with cans of fizzy juice and bottles of Chinese Green Tea and Lemon Tea. You can basically choose from roast pork belly, roast duck, roast char-sui (pork) and roast chicken (or a mixture) - with or without rice and to eat in or take away, and pay. There's disposable chopsticks, plastic spoons and napkins on the table by the fridge and you order before you sit down at a vacant table (if there is one). It's a family run business and the menu is in Chinese as well as English, so if the lady cannot understand you (if you can't speak Cantonese), you can point to which dish you want! My family and went for the 3 roasts (pork belly, roast duck and roast char-sui) with rice (£12) and bottled Lemon Tea (£3) and one of the chefs brought it to us when they had got the meat down and chopped it up and plated it, as we were chatting at the table. A small group of Chinese students were on an adjacent table and had just finished their meal so their empty dishes were still on their table when they left. The meal brought back many happy memories of time spent in Hong Kong (even down to the lady's 'banter' with the customers)! It is the most authentic Chinese meal I have eaten in a restaurant in the UK and was absolutely delicious! Some might think £12 for a dish of rice and a mixture of roasted meat is slightly expensive but you have to take into consideration that this is properly roasted meats (exactly how it's done in Hong Kong as far as I can tell) and is cheaper than when I had ordered the same dish in other Chinese restaurants. As for portion size, I'm a big eater (and proud carnivore!) and I just managed to finish everything but my family didn't and had to take their leftovers home. To be honest, their leftovers amounted to the size of the dish so could have shared one meal between them. In the time we had eaten our meal, there had been a steady stream of customers ordering take aways so is very popular with the local Chinese community. Will I return? Heck, yeah! Now that I know this place is here, I'll be back at every opportunity and will likely order a meal to take home for my next meal as well!

We have only done takeout because of the pandemic, but my oh my. Yummy Roast is a treat! We always get a char sui pork and crispy pork (I think that's what it's called.) It is so good. Highly recommend!

Came here on Sunday and whilst hubby and I were disappointed that we couldn't sit in. We opted for the rice box. The char siu was absolutely amazing whilst the roast duck was just divine. They do have a space to dine in but due to COVID, that's not open as yet! Can't wait to sample the other delightful roasts.

Food was delicious, I purchased the 3 roasts. Unfortunately they were out of crispy pork but the Roast chicken the substituted for it was delicious as well. A hidden gem that is so easily missed, Thanks to a friend who recommended this place to me. I Will be back for more. If you like Roast Duck or Char sui this place is amazing. Only opened in January and unfortunately had to close in March due to the whole Covid thing, But has now reopened so give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
