The best restaurants serving Chinese food in South West Scotland

Absolutely worst lazy-cooked Chinese food I’ve ever tasted. Sweet and sour sauce was the consistency of water and tasteless, salt and chilli chips just like oven chips with a few RAW onions and peppers thrown in. Rice and noodles totally bland. Icing on the cake is that’s it’s a ‘cash only’ joint. Will not be back and if it were possible I’d request a refund.

First time ordering as just in Ayr for a few days. Chose this Chinese due to the mostly positive reviews. Very busy business which is usually a good sign. Ordered chicken fried rice, curry sauce, ribs and salt and chilli chips. 23 odd quid. Chicken fried rice was lovely, curry sauce tasty. The chips were a little soggy if I'm honest but tasted OK. Ribs nice. No freebies sadly like prawn crackers after spending 20 quid plus but I appreciate not every Chinese does this anyways. Would definitely order again try some other dishes.

Amazing Thai green and red curry, served in the clay pot sizzler. Lovely egg noodles, not greasy. Young servers who were very polite and friendly. Loved it.

Was approached by a nice man when wee come in Eugene was his name helped me with the menu in picking the firecracker chicken which was really good starter was really good as well tender ribs very comfortable seating and nice surroundings..will definitely be back very happy customer

Poor choices for vegetarians and pescatarian with my food requiring heated in the microwave. Plenty desserts and staff attentive enough.

Brought us the wrong main course and said it was ok as it cost the same as what we ordered 😐 didn’t offer a second round of drinks or dessert we’re obviously wanting to close early, the restaurant was cold also.

This place used to be great, to the point where we ignored local restaurants and drove a 1hr round trip to pick up a takeaway. However our last meal was very disappointing. My main was inedible - we had to throw it away, the black bean sauce was so salty. My husband (who also tried a couple of mouthfuls as we hate food waste) and I were both up multiple times during the night needing to drink water levels of salty!! The starter and free spring rolls were ok but a bit tasteless. I can only assume they’ve changed chefs. Service was friendly which made it 2 stars not one. Obviously we won’t be back.

Really fabulous food. Had take away several times now, and have eaten in delicious every time, great potions. Don't understand the bad reviews. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Ordered salt and chilli chicken and went to bite into it and it was just pure string when to call the shop but can’t get through genuinely feel sick just looking at it

We booked a POD for our friends 50th Birthdays, we booked the table for 4 and it was fantastic !!! Private Dining so we could have a good belther and laugh with our own music and heater. The staff decorated the POD for me when i handed everything in earlier that evening. We got a buzzer to press when we needed anything. The young girls are fantastic, thanks to Summer, Sophia and Kayleigh/Kaitlyn.. you girls are amazing and a huge part of our great night. Great food, reasonably priced food and friendly staff. Will be back. Although there appears to be a language communication barrier at times the staff are really professional and very helpful.

The factory outlet re openend on Thursday jan 22rd 2025 after a Long time Closed after a fire broke out . Glad to say it has been well and truly renovated to a high standard . The staff were always nice and all Employees are the same And are still very nice .the café is still as fab as ever & very reasonable too .well done all .👏

Wonderful food, quick delivery and friendly staff - I loved it! Ordered the chicken satay starter, chicken fried rice, chips and curry sauce. Portions were so big that it easily fed 3 adults! I’ll definitely be using the Shanghai going forward!
