The best restaurants serving Chinese food in South West

It was good so good I would eat here again kids like it and wife loved it also

Very disappointing. Ordered the all you can eat menu. Portions were small and not served as the dish was described on the menu. If you order a sizzling dish you expect it to be just that. No such luck I'm afraid and the excuses as to why we're feeble. The food was not served hot enough and was unappetising. Wouldn't repeat the experience. The meal had to be paid for in advance, the reason became clear as the meal progressed. Few would have wanted to pay for it.

This was our first visit to The Power and our last. We ordered online and said we would pop over and pick up our meal. The girls in the front of house were so unfriendly bordering on rude. No welcoming smile. Initially they said they didn't have an order for us and then found it in the kitchen. My husband smiled and was friendly and said goodbye to glum miserable faces. My Noodles were not very good hardly any beansprouts and stone cold had to reheat. The prawn crackers were the worst I've ever had and the prawn and pineapple although tasty and well cooked seemed to be swimming in tinned pineapple juice. My husband did enjoy his Tofu and vegetables with egg rice and he enjoyed that. The worst thing was an hour after the meal I felt shaky, really thirsty with palpitations and jitters. Almost like I have had an adrenalin shot. Very weird and unlike anything I've had before. My sister in law often says she's not good with MSG and when I looked at the symptoms online I definitely had many of them. When we looked up the website it says only 99% of there food contains MSG. I think I had the 1% in my food. I wonder at the need for any business to feel the need to state that at all unless its been an issue before. I shan't be going back. Despite the appalling service and mediocre food I wouldn't want to suffer like that again.

Wouldn’t bother spending your money. Inedible, tasteless, everything beige! All cooked in under 8 minutes. Chicken vile! Thinnest noodles and wouldn’t think it was a chow mein. Topped with boiled veg which were soggy and looked like my dog was sick and everything was put into a container. Grey sludge which didn’t cover the food at all. Egg fried rice dry, tasteless and stuck to the back of the throat with each swallow. Tasteless with no sauce! Chips over cooked and was ok to eat. Didn’t score this a 1 star because the chips were edible and the car heaters kept the food warm.

Don’t normally have a Chinese on a Monday. However my usual Chinese closed. Received an excellent service from the telephone operator to the food. The meal was delicious, large potatoes chips, not black eyed chipped stumpy ones. The duck was fresh and delicious. This will be my new take away service. Thank you!!

We’ve always been loyal to this Chinese takeaway – it used to be our absolute favorite. For years, it was our go-to place for a Chinese and we never had any complaints. Unfortunately, after a long break, we decided to give it another try, and we were quite disappointed. The quality has really taken a dive. Not sure if the chefs have changed but it was noticeably different. The food just didn’t have the same appeal – it felt like a completely different place. We were hoping for the same great experience, but it’s clear that the standards have slipped. It’s sad to say, but we’ll probably be looking elsewhere for our Chinese takeaway fix from now on.

Ordered to collect the chow mein was missing where we got home. They delivered a replacement fast enough but tasted old and greasy it had a really funky twang. The food overall wasn't good either and the duck in plum sauce always anemic and pale beige even the sauce was beige. People of calne must have strong stomachs because it's gone straight through me. Won't be returning

Been going to tommys since i was a school boy. Just good honest fish and chips at a great price. Lovely staff who always remember u and have nice things to say. Good portions and in my view the best chippy chips on exeter

I ordered food last night my chicken satay was half cold I had to heat it up in the microwave I was not impressed the rest of the food was fine

Just finished my last ever takeaway from the Hong Kong Chef as its Sam and Pauline's last day today after serving great Chinese fare for the last 41 years in Braunton. Wishing you both all the very best for a long and happy retirement and safe travels wherever you go. Best Yeung Chow fried rice since Singapore! Take care, we'll miss you!

So disappointed. First time and the rice wasn't cooked properly, the sweet and sour sauce was watery and not like anything ive had in other establishments. Its a shame because the chicken in the Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken peices were really tender. Will not buy again.

Wongs is a family business take away, its been running for many of years. The food is amazing and the quantity is large. Delivery is available. From my own experience I've never had a bad meal.... they work hard and with other trade within the town they are always busy which tells you yourself everyone enjoys there food!.... you'll really miss out if you don't try them.... wongs is the best Chinese in town.

Fuimos con nuestros amigos de COWES para dejarlos experimentar este increíble restaurante , la comida era excelente incluso si pedimos demasiado el servicio era excelente también el camarero que nos atendió era muy profesional y amable también y empacó toda la comida que no pudimos comer para llevar a casa , esperamos con ansias nuestra próxima visita
