Ocean Dragon in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Always found this to be a very good takeaway. Delivery service great. Wide menu choice reasonably priced and good portions.

Eat in before and it was nice. No issues at all. This time we had two take aways. It was fine, on par with our local and no issue at all with the food. The only issue was the lack of comms between the person taking the order and the delivery driver. It took a long time for the delivery driver to find us even though we weren’t far away and the person who took the order said they knew where it was. That said, the food still arrived hot, the delivery driver was nice and the food was great!

Order takeaway from here. Food was terrible. The whole lot went in bin. Definitely not Chinese food. Waited 1hr 30 mins. Very disappointed. And no wonder you only take cash!

Ordered a takeaway, took over an hour to be delivered, even though we were one of the first to place an order. I called to ask where my order was, the female taking the orders was very unhelpful, the owner came on the phone trying to blame the driver (who was extremely helpful) Not ordering again as it's not the first time I've waited over an hour for my food.

This is the 3rd time we have ordered food from here over past. As always very good tasting food. Highly recommended ocean dragon if staying in Looe. Got food piping hot and great flavour in each dish.

The food was fine - beef curry, x1 fried rice, chicken chow mein and x2 beansprouts with noodles. Expensive for what it was, portions weren't generous (we're used to the large metal trays our local Chinese uses - this one uses the smaller plastic tubs) and the curry didn't come with rice - you pay extra for it. We paid £29 for what's two mains and two sides. Decent Chinese food though, if that's what you fancy.

Came to looe for our family half term holiday. I have to say they were so good that we used them two times in 5 days! Will definitely be going back.

Had a lovely take away from here last night, we often get a takeaway from here . Food was excellent full of flavours. After reading the reviews and the review about the staff, I can honestly say I have never had a problem I find the staff very friendly and helpful. The food is always good and it is always made fresh as I ask for things to be in at times like veg, chill etc. or things to be taken out.

Used ocean dragon many times and food is great unfortunately the last time we used them we ordered chicken with garlic chilli chow mein but it came without noodles. We phoned them to see if they could sort it out only to be told we only ordered the sauce which isn’t true. The lady on the phone was rude so we spoke to the manager. She was just as bad. Very disappointed and won’t be returning. Terrible customer service.

Well sorry guys a bit long winded … so from the offset can I say absolutely no problem with the food from here …. Great food always had delivery and very prompt….. so Saturday husband decided to treat me … he rang up ordered a chicken chow mein .. chips … spring rolls and prawn crackers….. happy days … Now if you look at thier menu it says chow mien is noodle basted … well I think we all know that … we ordered delivery…. The woman ie her name is Laura said to my husband (you only live 5 minutes away why don’t you just come and get it) !!! Was that even relevant ?? In the past with ordering there has been no minimum!! There was Saturday we had to make the order up to 19.00 ?? Our last one was £15.70 wasn’t a problem then… they don’t say on the menu a minimum of !! Anyway got our chow mein etc but no noodles ….. now not being funny but chow mein is noodle basted !! So I rang and spoke to Laura and basically she said it’s my husband’s fault he ordered wrong ….. the conversation turned ugly and yes I was a little stern …. She put the phone down on me so rang back and spoke to the manager whom I’ve got to say was very equally as rude and quote ( it’s Chinese new year I not got time for this ) 😕😕😕. I against my better judgement took to social media and ranted … probably not my best decision but hey ho …. The woman (laura ) and can I say I wish I could attach the messages decided to verbally abuse me … I photoshopped the messages… ….. all this over some noodles and her mistake basically…. I looked on TripAdvisor before posting this and it seems other people have had similar experiences….. all I can say is ocean dragon… great food ( when it’s the correct food ordered). Send your staff on a training course in customer service … my rating 1 out of 10

The food here is always lovely and the staff are friendly however the portion sizes are so small and literally everything is so overpriced.. 3 satay skewers is ridiculous.

We all had food from ocean dragon and there was lots of hair in all the dishes , thought they were meant to ware hair nets when cooking won't go back there

After a long day, we decided on a take out, As Looe was flooded (High Tide) we ordered a take out from Ocean Dragon. Wow what a surprise, told it would be 10 minutes, arrived, and the food had just been cooked. When we started, we both mentioned the crisp fresh veg and great portions. All the food was a delight, 1 starter, 2 main courses and 1 desert, all shared. Now we want to try more from the menu.

Tried this lovely little gem of a Chinese when on holiday down in looe popped in to a lovely warm welcome by the wonderful lady behind the counter. The food was amazing and it was the best curry I had in a long time all the family enjoyed theirs I hope to see you all soon when I return.

Good range of choice. Food was quickly prepared, good portion size, tasty and hot. A little on the pricy side, but did go back again as worth it.

Actually feel quite sad writing this. So on holiday with the family. Order Chinese. Firstly call 10 times on landline number no answer (no bother obviously busy) so I call the other option of a mobile number no answer. Get a returned call from the mobile number…. For them to tell me to call the landline….. ok all good I’m on holiday no drama…. Finally get through to order about 20 mins later. I was met be a very nice helpful person. Put my order in asked some questions again very helpful. I was told my order would be a hour. Ok cool. I call after 1 hour fifteen (obviously still waiting) I’m told a tree down on route so slight late absolutely fine as Iv not long driven down the same road! So food is delivered another 15 mins later! (Again no bother) firstly no prawn crackers. £60 cash order. I would except that.? I open the crispy squid 6 pieces of squid and a container of onions!!! £8.20….Not happy…. Chicken satay skewers…… 3. No mention of 3 on the menu however all other starters state amounts. So I call and raise my issues. Firstly I’m met with the same nice friendly female member of staff that initially try’s to help! I’m firstly challenged on the squid issue. “The chef has advised me that 9 pieces of squid were sent. I advise that I have taken pictures and I can assure that only 6 pieces sent. I the raise the issue of the satay skewers. By this time the female is becoming quite (aggravated at my question) I ask to speak to the manager as I’m a paying customer wanting answers. I express my annoyance… I ordered food I expect to get what I ordered. He offers me a refund on the squid but fights against the satay. I’m No happy with this. The lady then pops back in the phone to say ok I will collect the satay. ( very childish behaviour) I say yes yes I would have been happy about that if I had been told that at the beginning of the conversation. Fair is fair. What happened customer service!!! What happened to decent takeaways!!!!! Standards now days are absolutely shocking….. shame on you!!!

Not sure where to start, from the rip off prices to the bland food. Crispy chilli beef the worst we've ever had. Egg fried rice with basically no egg and very dry. Not sure what the chicken chow mein was supposed to be. Definitely not worth the extortionate prices. There are better ones around In liskeard of you drive, if you don't then spend your hard earned money elsewhere. You'll probably find a better microwave chinese in the Premier shop next door.

Please avoid at all costs.... had a takeaway. chilli beef was awful, 80% vegetables and what beef there was, was tasteless. Duck chowmain looked un cooked and the noodles looked like microwave ones. Please avoid and spend your hard earned money else where.

Ordered spare ribs egg fried rice and chicken balls. The balls did not taste like chicken, the rice was tasteless and the ribs tasted like they had been reheated numerous times. Very expensive rubbish to rip off tourists.

Ordered salt and pepper chicken sweet and sour pork hong kong style egg fried rice and chios. The chicken was over cooked rock hard nearly broke my teeth. The pork was not even ediable was disgusting. We ordered meal for four, honestly we received enough for eight people. Even with stoicism we had to admit defeat. Good mix of vegetables and meat dishes.

We were on holiday & through choice wanted to have a takeaway. We ordered by phone. Collected it. Food was ready. As it is situated out of town it was easy to park. Good choice on menu. I am passionate to eat squid and this was available as a curry. Portion size was good. My curry had plenty of squid and crunchy vegetables. My partner had his usually special fried rice. Again it was a good size and tasty. No leftovers. Prices were very good. Would recommend it.

Ordered a takeaway turned out barely edible special fried rice was soaked in gravy and chow mein well was pot noodles with beef bits. Called takeaway to be told YOUR NOT FROM HERE ARE YOU. Well there not from China either. Was told the special fried rice comes in sauce a dried rice is under a different name WELL HOW ABOUT TELLING THE CUSTOMER. We were staying at Parkdean resort up the road, first night we thought we would go and get a takeaway from here as was tired and wanted to stay in a relax.WOW amazing!! Call this tonight after ordering over the phone special fried rice pancake rolls chicken balls with sauce. The rice dish had thin layer of rice the rest of the tube was a brown coloured sauce with overcooked vegetables 2 prawns floating in it. Pancake rolls full of pepper and bean shoots soggy worst every Chinese take away . Could take it back drove over ten miles to collect . Will not go again.

Called through around 4:45pm man answered and took my order (they don’t open until 5pm) I was impatiently hungry! Pleasant chap on the phone, took my order and accommodated slight changes I request, read the order back to me which was good. Cash only however, the convenient store next door does cash back (minimum charge £3) good location just outside central Looe so you avoid parking charges and going into town. Has it’s out car park just outside the shop. I would eat from here again and I would also recommend. We called in after a day out exploring the local area. The food was ready in good time and very hot (was holding it on my lap on the way home). The food was tasty and portion sizes were huge. An added bonus is you don't have to drive and try and park in the centre of Looe, which was chaos. It's on the outskirts and has parking outside.

Having been put off by some of the reviews we’d read about Ocean Dragon it was with some trepidation that we ordered our family meal. All the dishes were very good, well presented in their takeaway packaging, order ready on time as promised. Friendly welcome. A really very good family meal.

Where do I start, it was simply horrible. The only thing that was anything like edible was the prawn crackers. The prawn toast was over cooked!! The Chinese roll was like nothing I've ever seen, it was filled with a mushy mix of beansprouts and spam (yes SPAM) deep fried in a sponge. The beef in the beef chop suey was tough as old boot leather. The chicken chow mein was the worse, the noodles smelt like an ashtray and tasted the same. I have never had a meal that was so bad. Save yourself from the disappointment and go some where else.
