Brilliant chinese takeaway! Food arrived hot and was delicious

First time trying Peking and glad we did, it was really lovely food. The man who delivered our order was very friendly and polite. Food hot and big portions. Will definitely be ordering again.

When I ordered the takeaway order we was told it would be 45 minutes, and it took over a hour and fifteen minutes, and when it had been a hour i called and they said that the delivery person had only just left, and we only ten minute drive away from the Chinese takeaway, and it was ordered for my son's 25th birthday, and also my husband is a type one diabetic and he has to do his insulin jab fifteen minutes before he eats his dinner

Perking has become my Go-to takeout place since I moved to Bradley Stoke. Their Roast Duck Chow Mein and chicken/ Beef Szechuan is topnotch. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful. I had a flat tyre once I was there and the guy at the counter came and helped me out change my tyre. Absolute legend

Been going there for years. Always tastes great, large portions, quick service and not too expensive Update: Been a while since I wrote the review and things have unfortunately changed for the worst. The owners have changed about 3 times in 2 years and each time the menu gets a rework. Sometimes add/removing items, sometimes changing the recipe for the dishes. Currently the menu has some dishes that are better then what they were, while others have suffered. The big issue is the price, everything has gone up significantly. They used to have a sign says sorry for the "31.7% increase of prices". But that has been recently taken down and I think it's because the prices have gone up yet again. Go back a few years and a two dish meal would be around £8-£9, but now those same two dishes cost me £17. So going from a cheap easy local meal to something I have to justify spending the money on isn't great. Another issue is the hygiene, with the shop promoting a 3/5 stars. I saw the ramifications of this drop recently when I found a dead fly cooked into my meal. I returned to the shop and were very apologetic and cooked me another meal for free and threw in some free Veg spring rolls, which was admirable, but that being said I've been coming here 25 years and this is the first time I had to return a dish.

Had a home delivery last night for 4 and it was awful over half went in the bin. How can the food go from lovely to awful. And didn't get a freebie (prawn crackers) would have been acceptable after paying 55.00 it's safe to say I will not be ordering again.

Our local Chinese. The staff are always extremely friendly and the food is ready really fast. Always excellent quality food and decent prices! Particularly recommended satay dishes and plumb sauce! Great veggie options and they will put tofu with any sauce!

Picked up a takeaway for tea. Has clearly changed hands, and the food was not the usual quality in terms of taste. Definitely, change in the sweet and sour sauce also seems to be very expensive.

We called the shop 2 minutes before they closed for a delivery, this was on our way home from the pub so wasn’t expecting them to answer. The said that they were closed. However 2 minutes later they called me back and said they would be happy to take an order. They delivered within 20 mins and it was hot and delicious. Thank you.

We fancied a Chinese takeaway so went to our regular takeaway. It's been under new management for a couple of months and this was our 1st visit since then. The Chicken Chow Mein was as nice as it normally is but the Crispy Beef in Sweet and Sour Sauce was chewy, stringy and simply nowhere near as good as before the new management. It was so sub standard compared to before that I'd never order it again. We also bought Prawn Crackers but they were so soft as to be inedible and I didn't even subject our dog to one (she was more upset than we were). All in all we'll probably give it another try and choose something other than the Crispy Beef. We travelled half hour each way because it's always been better than our local which makes it a waste of fuel as well.

Had a takeaway tonight, have always loved this takeaway but tonight it was tasteless(mine) husbands very fatty. It’s seems to be a lucky dip sometimes yummy but lately not so much, I’m sorry to say this as we have been loyal customers but beginning to look else for next one ☹️

Over 2 hours for delivery. Absolutely stone cold when finally arrived. Zero taste and swimming in grease. Would avoid this place like the plague

Well disappointed, used this place for a number of years and always enjoyed it. Dull food, chips looked like they were from yesterday’s service. Price increases with less ingredients in the food, if there was half a chicken breast on my chicken fried rice I would be being generous. Think it’s time to look elsewhere now.

just had a delivery, bags all soggy and wet, chips fell all over kitchen floor where the bags inside were like mush.. phoned to complain and was told 30 minutes to replace chips .. chinese would be cold ... its only a 5 minute drive, surly customer satisfaction is important ...just lost a customer chips and soggy paper not recomended. .... dont waste your money ,,,,

Staff were friendly and efficient, food was hot and tasty. Beef was very tender, pancake rolls crispy and good portion of prawn sesame toast. These new owners deserve to do well.

Iv'e been a customer here for over twenty years under various managements/owners but NEVER again. This place has gone too far down hill and won't be around for much longer. Too many freezers and microwaves but not enough hand washing and proper kitchen clothing (I watched one guy spill sauce on his fingers then LICK it off). Don't just order and sit down, stand at the counter and watch how they prepare YOUR food!!! Amazing how all the positive feedback gets a "Thank you for your support" message but not ONE negative comment is reached out for suggestions or ideas to retain customers. I'll go elsewhere in future

My first time going to Peking and it certainly wont be the last. Best chinese for for miles, i was so impressed. I had chicken balls and beef chow mein and both exceptional, cant recommend more, got so many choices to choose from. I will definitely come back 👍

I used to find this Chinese would add a lot of salt to their food and was hit and miss but tonight’s was by far the BEST Chinese I’ve had in a LONG time (from any takeaways I’ve tried) must be due to the new management. Super yummy and lovely and hot when it arrived :) keep up the good work guys!

The food is good but we order on a Saturday evening and the phone is it’s constantly engaged… gets really annoying and frustrating!! Why don’t they have a website so you can order the online ???

I have just had what is probably the best special chow mein that i have ever had in my life, soft meat, plenty of sauce on top and really flavoursome noodles

Highly recommended, was in hospital and partner went in to order Chinese. Spoke to lovely man on phone who did me a beautiful dish that I could eat following surgery. Absolutely amazing service ❤️❤️❤️

The meal was fantastic. My husband enjoyed his chow mein, I recommend sweet and sour chicken balls in batter, but be warned don't eat anything before getting the meal, it is huge. Even got some mini spring rolls free of charge. Highly recommend ordering from this Chinese Takeaway

We hadn't used this takeaway for a while but had been impressed before. We were very, very impressed with our meal tonight. We had a King Prawn and Chicken Chow Mein (not on the menu but they did for us), Sweet & Sour King Prawn Balls and a pot of curry sauce. The Chow Mein was perfect as was the King Prawn Balls. Big portions and everything cooked well and very tasty.

Please check your orders. Ordered quarter duck with the usual pancakes, plum sauce etc but the plum sauce was missed. Shame really as this is not a cheap dish.

Phoned tonight couldn’t get through a few times as it was very busy, no problem. Got through and someone immediately answered can I get back to you in a minute. I said yes but hung up after 5 minutes of no one coming back to me. I then drove there only for what seemed like a very young lady who didn’t know any of the meals to not understand my order. And kept repeating salt and pepper chips at me when I tried to order a salt and pepper box. I just had to leave as I couldn’t get what I wanted. Not sure where the usual very helpful and friendly chap is but I won’t be coming back, ordering tea really shouldn’t be this painful.

We have been delivery customers for 10 years. Tonight I ordered after 8pm a small selection of dishes. The food especially the prawn toast seemed re re fried and the chips were also rubbery. The mains were either too dry or over microwaved. Could smell the radiation coming off the beef. Had a few disappointing meals in the past but with the increase in price and further decrease in quality we'll be seeking an alternative chienese takeaway in the future.

Check your order as part of mine was missing which is really irritating when you get home. Phoned up to give feedback and was left on hold for 10 mins as they took other orders.

Always have a very tasty meal at a very reasonable price. Definitely recommend it as the best Chinese I’ve had in the north of Bristol. Additionally, the staff members are super friendly, taking care into their customers and that makes a lot of difference.

Turned up with a random curry sauce missing egg fried rice. Phoned up to find out what happened to be told didn’t put it on my order yet remembered to put curry sauce on I didn’t order. Asked to refund rice to be told you got to come in in person for refund. Had many takeaways from here over the last 20 years but this was by far the worst ever. Last one we had was amazing but had a couple of ropey ones in past but passable. Unfortunately I will be looking to get my next one from elsewhere as £35 isn’t cheap for meal for 2 don’t understand how they can take payment over the phone but not refund. My king prawn curry was ok veg chow mien ok king prawn sweet sour was like vinaigrette chip cold and chewy pecking duck was over cooked. Offered to send another rice out but would take at least 10/15 mins when the food wasn’t very hot anyway. I’m really disappointed as I love Chinese and my wife isn’t but talked her into one now I got no chance as will be curry’s all the time. Sorry but had to be said.

My favourite Chinese takeaway around. The food has gotten better over the past few years and it changed hands about a year ago, and the food is still just as good, if not better. They've added a load of new items to the menu and added more options for vegetarians. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. They are just really busy on Friday's so good luck phoning the order through.

I've asked for noodles with extra chilli oil and I've got ..... 1 chilli. Plus isn't chilli oil. First and last time when I will order from them. Noodles are fresh!

Awful food. Chicken balls, ie the batter was not cooked, soft, thick and soggy. Prawn toast over cooked/burnt. Complete waste of money.

New people took over this restaurant this year and it has greatly improved. Never had a problem with the meals, staff are very polite and the premises are always clean.

Another fabulous meal tonight. Fresh vegetables perfectly seasoned and cooked. Tried seschuan chicken tonight and it was just perfect so was sesame prawn toast. So nice to find modern Chinese cuisine with fresh ingredients and no msg.. wondering what to try next :) For the quality it’s great value for money

What a breath of fresh air this food place is ( I know it’s a takeaway but that old description doesn’t do it justice) as the meals are so healthily and freshly prepared . Over many years from being child and initially going to our local Chinese takeaway for exciting new tastes in the 60s I grew away from what we have been presented with since, ie, too much salt and msg (may be same thing) . Last night from Peking I got a lovely freshly prepared beef dish with perfectly cooked vegetables with my favourite sesame prawn toast to start. Perfect portion and quality over huge quantity, which is a great environmental plus. Simon , the owner is modern, committed and very passionate about his business. Reminded me of a younger Jamie Oliver, which I told him. Anyway, I am looking forward to trying lots more dishes here and would highly recommend as quite groundbreaking frankly. … yes this is a genuine review but praise where it is due!

I understand this restaurant is under new management. We never visited prior but can attest to how wonderful this place is! Easily the best! We don’t live within the delivery area but more than worth driving out for! Ribs and special fried rice were gorgeous.

Had a amazing meal from here. We had various dishes for 6 of us and everyone was extremely satisfied with the portion sizes and taste. I must say this is the first sweet and sour sauce that has not been sticky and salty and was so yummy. The chicken balls were huge with a lot of chicken and wonderful crispy batter but not at all greasy. The ribs in BBQ sauce were so tender and just fell off the bone, you could tell that everything had been freshly cooked and not reheated due to the texture. We would highly recommend trying Peking out.

This takeaway has recently been taken over by new management and we can’t say enough good things about it. The customer service is welcoming and helpful, the food is good quality and fairly priced. For a small delivery fee they will deliver to local surrounding areas, and they deliver quickly with the food piping hot which is a refreshing change. The menu has a good variety to select from, and we have ordered here many times and the food is consistently good. We would highly recommend this takeaway

Seems to be a few negative reviews but from a long time ago...The food is amazing and the staff so friendly. And you know its a great place to once you feel the weight of your order....Unlike some places these guys like to fill you up.

Food and service was excellent. Even gave us recommendations on what type of rice best suits our dish upon request. We were pleasantly surprised to find complimentary rice crackers and spring rolls thrown in as well. However the decor of the place could use a spruce up but not a deal breaker since they just do take-aways.

I don't usually leave reviews..but everything from ordering, service and food was fantastic. The Chicken balls (more like very large nugget shape) in batter were just amazing. The chicken was beautiful, the batter so light and crispy .. definitely try them ✅ sweet n sour sauce was fab too. I had crispy chilli beef too and they threw in some small spring rolls and fortune cookies. We aren't from the area, but will definitely use this Chinese any time we pass by. Can't wait to try the other dishes. Good service with nice touches. Don't hesitate to get a Chinese from here.

Brilliant place! Super friendly staff, good food... Sometimes they even throw in some free spring rolls (marked as "free" on the container as an added bonus). It is also open Mondays, which most Chinese restaurants in the area aren't. My go to Chinese takeaway!

Under New Management - Exceptional Food, nothing around here gets close! So my wife said try the Peking, people are raving about it on Facebook, so this evening I did. You will know straight away your are getting something unusual here, very good quality food, not your traditional mixture that comes out of frozen packets. Ingredients that you can relate to that look and taste fresh. I had spring roll and it’s like it’s properly hand made, special Chow Mein with big chunks of tasty chicken with Prawn Toast with really generous portions and top quality. I’ve just switched my take-away permanently! I don’t care what local Chinese you use, try this one under new management and I recon you’ll make a permanent switch! Brilliant

Used to be the best Chinese around, however the food now is of substandard quality, chicken in the chicken and cashew nuts slimy and very off putting smell. Had been using this Chinese for over a decade but unfortunately won’t be using it any longer..

Used this Chinese for approximately 20 years delivery and collection ideally located with tescos next door and parking too. My delivery driver always prompt and friendly,customer service from the young lady front of house was always exceptional friendly and very professional as she was always non stop flat out performing 8/9 things at once, the new owners also seem very friendly helpful also. Cannot remember ever having a bad meal as in inedible etc always enjoyed them so for me to start to compare with the old owners and the new would be extremely unfair and uncalled for. What I will say is we have had 2 meals from the new owners in the last 4/5 weeks and zero complaints food is great as always something's were better something's were not but overall good standards of food and will continue to use.Thanks to the old owners for your efforts much appreciated well done and good luck to the new owners keep up the good work good food

We've been having dinners from this takeaway for 2 years now. I'm surprised this place has so many negative reviews most of which mention the saltiness of the food and bad customer service. Everyone has different taste and expectations, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not good food. Regarding the customer service, yes they are cold and distant from a customer's point of view but when you look at it from.the other side and realise that the girl.behind the counter is juggling 3 clients and 3 other telephone orders in just a few minutes, it's something else. I never thought I should leave a review but today's experience changed my mind. I walked in, it felt like a different place, new guy Simon greated us like we new each other for ages, had a nice chat with him, we've been offered fortune cookies for free when he learned we are regulars. Found out owners have changed and they're going to the transition.The meat in the food felt a bit dry and old this time, but it was alright. I'm really looking forward to see how it goes on under the new ownership and with the new friendly and welcoming staff. Good luck guys

Best chinese in North Bristol area. We live in Thornbury and still use this one. Food is always hot, flavoursome, fresh, not greasy like some, and the staff are super efficient and lovely.

We ordered recently, quick service and friendly but the food was not good at all. Poor quality and poor cooking.
