Green Bamboo in South Gloucestershire

First time trying this place tonight just got the salt and pepper box. Won't be using again. Skimpy portions and expensive. Got the 10inch salt and pepper box which had barely anything in. It included curry sauce which was a tiny pot, barely enough for 1/4 of it.The special chow mein had barely any noodles in and the sweet and sour sauce was that viscous disgusting kind. How I just paid £31 for that is beyond me... Will stick to my usual in future.

We've eaten here a couple of times now and really enjoy their curries. Best chips we've had from a Chinese in a long time. Shame they don't take cards but not the end of the world.

I personally love Green Bamboo, but have not been able to enjoy it as much as I would like to because it has become really expensive The food is great, we have never had a bad meal The salt and pepper box is really good, lots in it and all really tasty but at nearly £20 it's out-priced itself Noodle boxes also really tasty and more in there than you think, but again, just too expensive It's a real shame, because it used to be our favourite, but when I can get almost the same for 1/2 the price i have no real option than to go elsewhere

Chips and curry sauce were excellent, as was the salt and pepper chicken, but the house special fried rice wasn’t anything special at all. They only take cash btw.

Not only is the food great but they will deliver promptly too. My favourite is the pepper salted squid

I chose, as I always do for a takeaway wherever it comes from, aromatic crispy duck. However not only was the duck cold, the sauce pot only half full, which wasn’t enough to moisten all the duck, but the majority of duck consisted of very hard and tough pieces on which I choked so badly it not only made me sick but had quite an adverse affect on my asthma, requiring me to use my strongest inhaler. It goes without saying we will not be ordering from you again and certainly can’t recommend the Green Bamboo.

Just ordered salt n pepper box food lovely but only to find silver foil in food i was told it comes in the box but there wasnt any in box. I normally use this take away but the staff wer rude ect when i complained i dont pay £21 to find foil in my food.

Best Chinese had in ages. Bit expensive but you pay for what you get. Throughly recommend.

Okay-ish food. If you have cash. Nice service but had to leave and come back the first time I went there because they don't except card.

Ordered from here told 1hr wait and it showed up 1hr 20mins later. The delivery driver decided to gently tap the door like they were working for the post office and not ring the doorbell which is in the MIDDLE of the door at eye level! Duck in plum sauce was bland! Couldn’t tell you what it was if I was blindfolded, the veggie rice was mushrooms, bean sprouts and what I assume was baby corn but it was grey! Chips were cold like they’d been left waiting until another order near us came in. Whole meal was bland and I really feel like I’ve wasted money! Really disappointed and will not be ordering from here again!

First time with these tonight 27/8/22 and will definitely be ordering again the food was hot and delicious couldn't fault it

i never seen singapore noodles with sausages , the meat was stinky and taste horrible , never again

We ordered to collect on a Saturday evening and it was on time, 10-15 minutes. Portion was slightly smaller than what we normally get but was just enough for 2. Would go back again.

Very Average Food. If I wasn't in a rush I would have walked away, due to the fact they do not accept debit or credit cards. Since COVID most people do not carry cash anymore.

The food is really nice only thing that lets them down is they are soooooo slow every time we order for collect we are told 20 minutes... 45 minutes later and you are still waiting !!!

I got recommended by a friend to try there salt and pepper box. Absolutely beautiful. Defo would go back. 10/10 from me.

Nice food fair price and veey good delivery

I'm stopping at the Premier Inn at Emerson Green and they deliver within 40 mins of ordering the food and the food is absolutely fantastic. Friendly staff when you phone up and the delivery drivers are very polite and they ring you up when they arrive. I will always use them when I'm stopping here. Thank you so much for your lovely food. Called at 5.45 and was told delivery would be 1.5 hours. Agreed that was ok. Called again at 7.45 and was told it would be another 20 mins and delivery was 1.5 - 2 hours (they didn’t say that originally!!). Called again at 8.15 and was told at least another 20 minutes. Told them to forget it - horrendous customer service and girl answering phone very disinterested. Would not recommend or use again!!

If you would like what I can only describe as custard on rice with 3 pieces of (I think, or hope chicken then come here) absolutely disgusting!! Phoned up to complain and they asked if I’d eaten “Thai food” before? This is what you get! She said - Spring rolls had no meat in them, just grease!! And over priced!!! If I had a did, I wouldn’t let them eat this muck!!

Ordered a Thai green curry to be delivered. When opening it found it to be a red curry. I immediately rang green bamboo and was fobbed of with them telling me their thai green curry is red. It looked and tasted like red curry and was bright red. I will be returning but only for a refund

The food is very good the quality has gone up 100% recently better everything we live local so collect always crisp and dry and properly cooked

I had House special fried rice and the salt/chilli chicken. Just the right amount and a good price. Great service and a swift turnaround. Still a great asset to the area.

And treat it was. You must try the Crispy Aromatic Duck, suggest going for half that way you get two separate servings avoiding the arguments and we had crispy rolls as a free treat - Thank you

Salt & pepper box. Excellent value for money and nice if you want a mixture of everything! 2 sizes but the smaller one is definitely big enough for one!! Always pick it up as delivery time is ridiculous!!!

Had a lovely tasty takeaway delivered promptly well within the timescale that they have and was still really hot.

Disgusting service, I wouldn’t even bother ordering from here. Told it would be 45-60 mins. I chased at 65 mins & told it would be 10 mins as it was out with the driver. I chased again at 100 mins & was told the driver needed to come back & get the food. What liars! Awful customer service. & the young girl who answers the phone is rude & has an attitude. When it eventually turned up 1 hour and 50 minutes later - the food was cold & mediocre. The only person that was genuinely apologetic was the poor delivery driver who clearly has to take the brunt of it all the time. Albeit they offered a £5 reduction, it was just an awful experience, would seriously not recommend.

It's quite nice for Chinese.Helpings not that big for what you pay.

We phoned as we thought we had a problem with the food, they came straight to our house to see it, worried. Turns out no problem. Can not fault the food or customer care. Top marks

Gluten free option - good Chinese and very accommodating for those needing gluten free food. Would recommend.

We ordered a takeaway for delivery, 20 minutes past the due time we rang up to see where the delivery was and was told to wait another 5 to 10 mins then ring back if not delivered. Another 15 mins later rang back and heard a discussion in the background, basically the food had not even been cooked. I said we would not pay full price for a very late take away, was told 'the kitchen said we can give you discount on next order' I said this was not good enough, they said nothing. I told them to cancel the order and have since ordered from a more reputable Chinese takeaway. Terrible customer service and would give 0 stars if i could.

Food is excellent. My father in law will drive from across town (Bristol traffic is awful) to get takeaway here. I would highly recommend this place.

Food was fresh hot and tasted good, especially the chef special com box, I ordered the curry favour, More better than the normal chow mein dish, Also order came with free prawn crackers, will order again.

Changed hands recently, used to be the best Chinese food locally...... Still is!!! Always helpful, if you need items tweaked like asking for a hotter than usual curry... No problem... Definitely recommend.

As take aways go this is up there with the best of them. The food is excellent, delivered hot and on time, what more can you ask.

This Chinese is my sons favourite takeaway the ham omelette is extremely tasty and they put lots of ham in it . I often have the duck chow main which is a good size portion and very tasty.

China/comida tailandesa y fabuloso siempre satisfacer mi enfermedad de CELIAC. He tenido algunos platos sin gluten fabulosa gratis desde aquí, y el personal parece muy una persona bien informada. Ellos siempre uso limpias sartenes y utensilios, y nunca he tenido una mala experiencia. Aparte de eso, excelentes platos a precios razonables para el resto de mi familia no celiacos, caliente y ofrecen servicio a domicilio.

My favourite Chinese local take-away. Always good and prompt delivery. They do all the standards. There is chippy next door. Would recommend!
