Order arrived half an hour late with no apology from the restaurant. When plating up we realised one of the main dishes was wrong but decided to give it a go anyway (as given the original delay we weren't prepared to wait even longer), but wasn't to our taste and so went in the bin. Waste of money. Chips were soggy, ribs almost entirely gristle and prawn crackers burnt. Best bit was probably the BBQ sauce. Had much better food from here before but has obviously gone downhill since. Wouldn't recommend and won't be back in future.

Tried ordering online, had a notification an hour later saying food is being delivered and still here 1 hour and 30 minutes later still with no food so overall 2 hrs and 30 min wait. We ordered before they stop doing delivery and called them 8 times before they closed. Deliveroo also didn't help as they can't refund us £40 because their driver has apparently said that they have delivered it yet they haven't. Lucking scammers,.don't order from here

Absolutely disgusting service. Ordered a takeaway and was told this would be delivered within the hour. We chased this after an hour and 45 mins to be told it was on the way. Chased again 20 mins later and still not delivered and asked to cancel the order. Promised it would be here in 10 and then of course it wasn’t. Very rude person on the phone and manager wouldn’t accept the call or the cancelled order. When the food did eventually turn up I turned it away I will be doing a charge back as this service is totally unacceptable.

Ordered the House Special "Fried" rice, and it looked liked it had just been boiled, not fried. The veg was huge, and belonged in a chow mein, not a rice dish. The order was delivered 40 minutes late. The Sweet and Sour Chicken balls, we're actually pretty nice. Chicken and noodle soup was tasteless, with very little chicken, Kung Po Chicken was 99% cashew nuts. The chips were over cooked. Won't be ordering from here again

Visited last night. Ideal setup for our family and idea for pleasing 4 kids with varying tastes and some who struggle waiting. Have been before a few years ago but last night we all thought the food was especially good. Yes it's a simple setup, but very tasty, good value and good service. From the crispy squid, king prawns, spicy lamb, fried chicken, range of rice, noodles,. duck pancakes and much much more... and the range of puddings and mr whippy style icecream machine. Kids and adults were all very pleased and full. Just wanted to share, as we had a lovely evening and Buffet City was the perfect fit. Drinks are extra, but that makes sense. Perhaps a 'kids unlimited refills' type machine option (as an extra charge) would be a nice addition.

Very poor food. The lemon chicken was like eating candy, way too sweet. Dumplings were ok, wine was ok but overall very poor. We left the chicken almost untouched and told the waitress that it was unedible but she didn’t care. Spent £38 and left hungry. Go somewhere else. Never asked for track and trace either,

Lots of recent changes in Mayflower Street, most recently the opening of Oishi Sushi up here at the eastern end.
