We came last night for the first time and I am very impressed, the udon noodle dish I had was so nice and my boyfriends beef dish was also really impressive thank you :)

Not impressed,food not nice,delivery late. Roast duck like leather more in the bin than in the belly. Won't use again...

Dragon City is the best Chinese restaurant in the Plympton area. We live in a road where there is actually another Chinese takeaway but we would rather go out of our way to get our food from Dragon City, because it’s nicer. The food is hot, fresh and tasty and if they deliver, they deliver on time, with competitive prices and friendly service.

Chicken satay sticks so dry they were inedible. The sauce had no trace of peanut whatsoever just sweet slop! Sweet-and-sour chicken balls!! The sweet-and-sour sauce was just overly sweet and no other taste. Over all very very poor! Just testless! Saved for a month for treat and so disappointed! Phoned to complain but no come back!! 😞

Good food, but poor business sense. I got to £19.70, which was 30p away from the £20 for cards. We all get it's so people pay cash, as it's tax free, but for 30p, they lost a sale. Madness. Gutted they treated a regular this way.

I ordered a take away from here today and I will never go to them again. They charged £6.80 for crispy beef, but just look at the portion size. It is in the small container. I didn't notice until I got home and called them right away to complain. They offered a measly 10% off next time! Even if it tasted good, which it didn't, it's unacceptable. It was like eating mud! I've never had such a terrible experience with takeout before."

Asked for Malaysian curry. Got the usual bland Chinese curry. Either way all their food is tasteless bland and the chicken is anaemic

Egg fried rice was just fried rice and very hard. Salt and pepper chicken was more like salt and pepper pigeon. Sweet and sour sauce was nice. First and last time ordering from here.

Had a takeaway for 5 people this evening. Ordered by phone for collection. Food was ready when I arrived. Absolutely delicious. Even my 96 year old Mum, a fussy eater, enjoyed it and ate more than usual. Thank you!

They are trying to charge £1 to use a payment card instead of getting a order for £19.40 + £1 they got nothing and I went to China chef instead it was a £1 cheaper and no service charge

Tried this chinese takeaway in Plympton yesterday. The spicy chowmein was nice. I ordered the egg fried rice with chicken schezuan (extra spicy) but schezuan was sweeter than i’d like. Overall, decent food. Service time was quick. oh, and their chicken is halal.

This used to be our favourite takeaway, but no more! The quality of the food was poor, and quantity had been cut down. I had duck in plum sauce, there were about six small pieces of duck which were rock hard, the sauce was thin and tasted more of vinegar than plum. Vegetable spring rolls had hardly any vegetables in them. The only thing that was really edible was the rice! We will not be hojng back again.

Poor customer service we ordered food from you. You missed something from my order. We rang you said you will write it down. We just tried to reorder now amd you said you don't have nothing on there books. Not good customer service

Ordered a house appetiser Rib =dry Prawn toast = Rock hard dry Spring rolls = tasteless Satay chicken = tuff as old boots Mains Lemon chicken nuggets Tasteless tuff And even the rice was dry. Very disappointed

Ordered for the first time tonight may 2023. Food was honestly really good and the delivery time was incredibly quick. However I was charged for a dish I never received and when I called to ask about it I was told that Id have to pay for it again. Which has upset me and spoiled my dinner because as stated I'd already been charged for it.

First time ordering from dragon city due to our usual Chinese being closed. And really wish we hadn't. Firstly the delivery was late. And I'm sorry to say the quality of the food was below average, looked anemic, lacking flavour. Really disappointed. In comparison to our usual Chinese takeaway. If your looking for a decent Chinese in the plympton area give this a miss, and try peeking house. Peeking house is equal to price but the food is much more flavoursome, better quantities and overall well worth the money.

It’s ok every now and again. Cheaper than a take away and more choice but quality of meat is not great. Rubbbery chicken.

Honestly food was alright ish apart from being wet from sat in a bag for too long. but the price £24 for chicken balls x2 Chips what at are like £3 child portion honestly Chicken fried rice looked okay But portions bad Price bad Girl at the desk nice and polite Communication meh since it sat Feeling robbed and hungry would go else where honestly if you went chips shop next door you would have been full. Went curry house would have been full Gone any other Chinese around would have been full. This occasion, well you get the picture! Save your money go else where or cook honestly won’t leave you as gutted as this place :(

Bought 27 pounds worth of food and chicken in one meal wasn't cook through was ill and sick so phoned to complain and said I would to come to shop for refund to the person on the phone replied if you do we call the police on you .....disgusting customer service and won't be going there for food ever again

Worst Chinese I have EVER had. Tasteless soggy mess, the crispy chicken kung po was about as crispy as tissue paper. I hate to give such a negative review but if they are happy to serve such awful food and think that it's of any quality then I'd be wasting my breath saying anything to them.

Our first time using this takeaway as daughter moved in area. First impression for me are important and can reflect what going on behind kitchen doors… On entering the premises, it was scruffy with dust and cobwebs of many months behind ornamental pots, paint peeling off boards, just very poor lack lustre appearance. The food was hot although food flavour were average, but based on entry to the takeaway, made me feel uneasy about quality of hygiene standards? This may be a harsh review, but especially with such cuisine you need to present the right Image which clearly wasn’t the case….

Did a telephone order told would be ready in 15 mins half hour later ask where it is to be told another 10 mins ask again after 10 mins told another 5 finally after another 10 get food wasn't that hot and wasn't that good service rubbish how they keep going I don't know

Ordered our meal at 8:15pm, was delivered to our door by 8:30, piping hot and delicious. Highly recommend, thank you 😋

I'm not sure if they do but it sometimes seems like they have different chefs cus it's not always the same flavours or quality but their times are always good for me I do live close by though

I love Chinese food, this little takeaway is perfect for that fix. Food quality has always been top and we have not had a wrong order. Delivery has always been punctual and with no problems. Size portions are standard sizes compared to most takeaways, enough for a meal at least. Quality of food is good, always cooked and full of flavour. The portions have a good veg to meat ratio were you do not feel cheated on the amount of meat. Selection is ok, for its size it offers a good variety. Value for money is great the premium dishes are competitively priced and well within a families budget. Only negative was the website. I was always directed to a site I could not read no english version and no menus available to view what they offer.

My Daughter ordered food and specifically asked that no chilly was used as she is seriously allergic to it. They said it was no problem, she reiterated the request advising them it could kill her. She was assured no chilly would be used. The chef ignored the request and she subsequently went into anaphylactic shock and brought to hospital. On contacting them the chef was adamant he did not use chilly but used sweet chilly sauce instead. Unbelievable! She could have had cardiac arrest. Irresponsible, dangerous and negligent.

I don't know what happened tonight, but, I had spare ribs and Chicken Chow Mein. Ribs were excellent, but the Chow Mein was swimming in oil. Couldn't eat it after about 4 or 5 mouthfuls. Worst I've had from here. Might not use again for a while. Very disappointed.

Don't think i have had a bad chinese from here in all the years I've lived here, maybe once a few years ago, but its the best one around here for sure, the other 3 i have used are disgusting , definitely my go to chinese takeaway , the chilli chicken and lemon chicken are really good 😬

I can not recommend this chinese enough!!! We always get it and never ever had a bad meal. Not once have they let us down!! Everything is so tasty, the spicy stuff is perfectly spicy. Rainy Friday evening and we thought a chines for dinner would be good. Big mistake - the worst takeaway I have had in many years Started with chicken and sweetcorn soup - full of slimy lumps - presumably instant soup not mixed properly \and so salty that taste was difficult. Then house platter - what a total waste of £7.10 Chicken satay dry and no sauce or flavour. Spring rolls - no filling and dry Prawn toast limp and tasteless - all ended up in the bin. The rest of the meal was equally poor, lacked sauce and flavour and and an insult to a meal. The worst meal I have had in many a year! and a total waste of £20 - I would have returned it but takeaway 2 miles away and I could not drive as I had had a drink The only positive - delivered on time

tried this place on a Tuesday when my usual place Peking house was shut would never order again my chicken balls were burnt my beef tasted dirty and took nearly 2 hours for my delivery when it arrived food was cold

After being recommended by a friend, and despite some awful reviews, we decided to give Dragon City a try. Rang through our order, and was told it would take about half an hour to be delivered to us in Ivybridge. It was delivered right on time, and was nice and hot. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, apart from the Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, that was pretty poor.

This has got to be one of the best takeaways in the Plympton area. We ordered Thursday evening with some friends, it was delivered in twenty minutes and we live in the country the other side of Sparkwell. Thank you.

We have used this Chinese takeaway for 19 years and it has been one of the best. We have lived in Penang and Singapore so we think that we can judge when we are being shortchanged. Well last night was the case. The meat was tough like it had been reheated, the crispy prawns were not cooked through and therefore not crispy. To beat it everything they would not refund any money when we took it all back. We cannot any more recommend this takeaway as we have done in the past.

Mess up an order and don't rectify it!! Rubbish

I never write reviews but thought it was necessary this time. The girl on the phone was unbelievable rude the phone. Got my order wrong and wouldn't bring me right food unless I paid delivery AGAIN! To top it off the food was so salty, dry and I will never be using them again.

Food was tasteless . Chips were drier than Gandhi’s flip flop. The order was wrong. Customer service was on a par with Basil Fawlty. Pancake roll looked and tasted like it had come through the post via Hong Kong . It’s safe to say I won’t be using them again.

I was told my sweet and sour was gluten free when I got it home it didn’t taste gluten free , I called and checked and was told that everything in there was low gluten !!!!! If you are gluten free this means you cannot eat any gluten not a bit !!!! What a waste of £16 obviously I did not eat it and I was stupid to go in the first place but they did tell my husband that I could have it . They said it was hong kong flour when I looked it up it’s an awful product of highly bleached cheap flour that has less gluten than other flours . Dangerous product for allergy suffer. Never never again !

Chewy chicken, over cooked ribs, greasy rice and chow mien, to top it all off had to pay an extra 50p to have satay sauce separate from the dried out chicken skewers. Definitely NOT going back!!

The food is always excellent, the service is quick and the employees are friendly and happy to help. Easily the best Chinese take-away in Plymouth. Would highly recommend the Thai red curry, or the satay vegetables as a vegetarian option.

Everyone has a favourite chinese and this is ours! Great food and choice, all cooked to perfection. It is a little out of our way, there are nearer chinese takeaways to where we live, but this one is worth the extra travel.

Disappointed as always come here. I had the chicken curry and didn't seem as good as normal and spent the whole night and morning being sick and on the toilet and stomach cramps. Won't be using again :-(!

Always good quality, piping hot, good service, easy parking! Extensive menu, and some things just a little different to the normal menu, which I think is great!

Although the food is good the actual service and time keeping of deliveries is extremely poor. In 6 deliveries so far they are at least 45 minutes late on every occasion and without even an apology when it finally gets delivered. If you order make an allowance for poor delivery.

El pasado martes, pedí un para llevar desde aquí tanto de mi comida para llevar local chino 'en Ivybridge estaban cerrados. Como tenía amigos sobre el orden era más grande de lo que normalmente hacen que incluía huevos fritos de arroz y un plato de fideos. La comida fue preparada en un tiempo razonable.

Some dishes are okayish, but many are plain awful. Their sweet and sour sauce is the worst thing I've ever tasted!

We had a takeaway from Dragon City the food was awful a few hours later what had gone in one end came out the other and we were all bad for a day, our advice is don't waste your money, go hungary or go somewhere...

I use this takeaway often either for home delivery or going to the shop, either is always a fantastic service. The staff are always friendly and delivery always on time.The food is always tasty and always hot. My son loves the fluffy white boiled rice along with the curry sauce. My husband is working his way through the menu and has enjoyed every thing so far especially the Dragon City Specials. The noodles and beansprouts are to die for as are the chilli chips.If you want a treat this is the place to go and in my opinion the best in Plympton.

Fancied Chinese went to Dragon City never again sweet and sour pork swimming in ?sauce/ gravy strips of ?pork fried in batter very very chewy when eating and did not resemble in any shape or form what I would consider sweet and sour

One meal at this takeaway, two days in bed! Avoid! The chicken balls undercooked and the rice look as though it had been reheated.

Probably the best Chinese Take-Away in the city! I've tried many and despite being out of the area now, I still drive here to get my food. They don't bombard you with mass and the food is nice & rich. Just right.
