The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Elmbridge South East

After having a bad experience with my last Chinese I was very skeptical to try a new Chinese for over a year but decided to give China Chef a chance and really glad I did. Portions are perfect and it’s not to greasy staff are nice and the food is easy on my gut have returned several times

Amazing we ate all of it in 2 minutes

The prices for the delicious food were reasonable and the waiter was very nice and gave us free ice-cream. The place was organized very well.

This restaurant is always very quiet but we decided to give it a go and we are so pleased we did. The decor is not at all upmarket but reminded me so much of days long past hanging around back streets of Hong Kong. Service at Ume comes with a lovely smile, which seems rare when eating out in the Esher area. The food is cooked fresh and is delicious. We went for the set menu with duck, beef and prawns - £25 per person. Very reasonable. We will be returning. Highly recommended.

Ended up eating an unplanned dinner here and what a very pleasant surprise! Given that we were the only customers eating in, the service was faultless. The restaurant was extremely clean (I’d maybe give the toilets a bit of a refurb to fit with the rest of the venue but still clean and pleasant to use). The food was absolutely delicious. You could taste the freshness of all the ingredients. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again!

The delivery was really quick but the food was very poor. The spring rolls were massively over done and dry, the black bean and chicken had barely any sauce and was mainly just peppers and onion and the sweet and sour prawns were overly sweet. We don’t get takeaway much but this was a huge disappointment.

i wouldn’t recommend. while the food wasn’t bad, the waiter, upon being told that i was a vegetarian and would want a separate plate to the rest of my party, went on a ten minute tangent about how i don’t ‘fit the profile’ of a vegetarian. this is because ‘vegetarians are usually slim, and you are not’. he then went on to reiterate this a few more times in different ways, laughing despite the rest of our table was silent. as somebody who has suffered with multiple mental illnesses, including bulimia and body dysmorphia, this really made the rest of the meal very difficult to enjoy. i know i cannot expect the waiter to know my medical history, but that is the exact reason you do not say things like this. my father in law’s birthday meal, which he paid a lot of money for, was then clouded with an air of awkwardness that continued throughout the entirety of the meal.

After a long and stressful day at Ashford Hospital we rang through our order on our way home at 6.30. We picked it up twenty minutes later and it was hot, freshly cooked and delicious. We're new to this area and Mr. Turtle had been recommended to us and now we know why. We'll be back very soon!

Best service and delicious food!

Been eating here for the last 15 years Food has always been cooked well They are very accommodating when I am giving fussy orders such as changing proteins or asking for vegetables to be removed or extra sauce The portions are good value for money . I am particularly in love with the spring rolls which I think of the largest in Surrey for the price that you pay and two in a bag highly recommended if there has been a problem with an order, the staff have been really quick to fix the problem to my satisfaction Only mini moan that I have is that the Just Eat site says you are open for delivery on a Monday but I have had several orders refused other than this love these guys
