China Chef in Elmbridge

After having a bad experience with my last Chinese I was very skeptical to try a new Chinese for over a year but decided to give China Chef a chance and really glad I did. Portions are perfect and it’s not to greasy staff are nice and the food is easy on my gut have returned several times

Never had a bad meal from this takeaway since I started using it last year. Love the NZ mussels in a black bean sauce, and had a King Prawn Chow Mein to accompany it. Fast, very decent and reliable as ever.

Fantastic and reliable takeaway, as per usual. New Zealand Mussels in Black Bean sauce were tremendous….accompaniment of Mushroom Chow Mein equally highly enjoyable. Very enjoyable indeed.

After an exceptional late afternoon in Wimbledon Village, I required a fine takeaway, to accompany an evening in. This always, consistently, offers fine food at very good prices. Staff very pleasant and service is always rapid. I was slightly concerned when keeping abreast of the news, whilst waiting for my order, about an oil tanker incident near the Isle of Wight. However, I suspected that by strength and guile, the situation would ease. Nay matter! The food arrived - New Zealand Mussels in an outstanding Black Bean sauce accompanied with a vegetable Chow Mein. The Mussels were very very succulent - cooked to perfection! The Chow Mein - delicious and superb. Yet again, another fantastic takeaway!

Arranged to meet my 🇮🇹 Italian Agony Aunt mate, locally, and as she hadn’t eaten, during the morning, I suggested she try this fine venue. I’ve been using this place, for takeaways, since I discovered it, accidentally, sometime back in May, and it’s never disappointed me, ever. Service is always polite and incredibly swift. Place is very clean and tidy, inside. There is some parking along the road, outside. As a seafood fan, I recommended the truly superb New Zealand mussels - either with spring onion, or black bean sauce. Both are as good as one another. In the end she opted for the former, with egg fried rice. Opted to go to nearby Gigg’s Hill Green for a sit down, while she ate. Lunch, was enjoyed a great deal, and she loved the Mussels. Later, chat turned to how our ‘work shrink’ had ‘somehow’ (?), procured a copy of a screenplay, I had been writing 🤣. I was so pleased, he had asked permission to read it 😆. Apparently, he noted a certain element of ‘frustration’ in it - to which my only response to ‘Dr N.S Sherlock’ is - ‘wow....very observational. 😂 Cathartic writing, perchance?’

Absolutely excellent takeaway, yet again. The Chow Mein is superb and their New Zealand mussels (huge in size), either in Black Bean sauce or with ginger and spring onion, are both outrageously good.

After leaving London late, and still angry about the defacing of the Winston Churchill statue, the best remedy was a decent takeaway to accompany a viewing of ‘The Mule.’ I’ve never used this place before, but was glad I did. Mini spring rolls were decent. Egg Fried Rice and a Chinese Mushroom Curry was exceptionally tasty. Good, very quick service. Most enjoyable.

This is the only Chinese I will order from now. It’s always quick and fresh. Always tasty and good portions. The staff are friendly and the kitchen can be seen from the front of the shop and always looks spotlessly clean.

Our favourite takeaway! It's swift, it's good, it's never failed yet. Oh yes, you can get some poor old guy - sitting on the few chairs at the front desk - to bring it round for you. But the fun is standing at the counter, reading yesterday's Daily Star (is this the only place on the planet that buys that rag?) and counting the seconds until your meal is ready. This is fast-track takeaway. No sooner is your order logged on the touchscreen than it's being bundled into plastic boxes and bagged up. It's a blur of activity, and it's impressive to watch. As usual, we went for meal A1, with an extra crispy chilli beef, at under £15. You just can't go wrong here.

Have been coming here for years. Had a lovely takeaway from China Chef last night & it never fails to be the best!

Extensive menu, quickly prepared and very tasty. Nearby to a relative's house so a quick Take Away. We ordered a selection of different things (Szechuan Prawns, Chicken in Black Bean sauce and Prawn stir fry) All cooked to perfection. Extra chicken satay and a small dish of spring rolls added to it. Very happy with the overall.

Ordered chicken satay sticks gave us the wrong order when we said sorry that’s not what we ordered rude and refused to give us correct order or refund money wouldn’t mind but been a loyal customer since it opened shocking treatment

We ordered take away to a hotel, and one would assume the restaurant would send utensils. But here were no utensils, no condiments (plum sauce, soy sauce, etc.) in our order. The food was not the worst Chinese takeaway, but it was not the greatest.

The food here always tastes great, in my opinion it's the best Chinese takeaway around here. Delivery is always fast too.

Sue and I have been using "China Chef" for many years and have never failed to be extremely pleased with their take-out food. Although we don't live far away - in Claygate, in fact - we always order by 'phone. The food is always delivered punctually, is hot and invariably accompanied by prawn crackers as a bonus. Their take-away menu covers most tastes.

Hemos estado comiendo aquí por más de un año, y en los últimos 6 meses ha bajado, la comida no es tan buena y por lo que creo que sería! Si el pedido y pedir una entrega prepárate para el conductor para perderse, así que tu comida llegará el frío.

He revisado el Chef China tiempo atrás, pero intentamos otra para llevar de la última noche, y estoy encantado de decir que está recibiendo incluso mejor; más confianza en sí mismo, más seguro en la comida que produce y más lograda en términos de servicio y la organización.
