Absolutely the best Chinese restaurant in the area. Excellent food at reasonable prices and the service was not intrusive but very polite and helpful. Quiet relaxing atmosphere - very welcoming - would recommend for special occasion or just a nice meal. Very busy take away service so vey popular with the local area.

I've got several takeaways delivered from the Full Moon and they've all been very good so can't recommend it more highly, and this was after trying another three Chinese restaurant deliveries. The deliveries have always been very quick whatever day of the week. Richard from Roydon Court

Fantastic food with a 1st class service. We booked a table for 10 - 7 adults and 3 children. A great range of dishes cooked to perfection. What could be better? It’s air conditioned too. Would highly recommend a visit.

Very friendly, helpful people. They went to extra lengths to ensure my takeaway was delivered after some local flooding issues - and they called me to let me know it was going to be late and why. The food was great. Full of flavour, nicely packed and presented. Fresh and not at all stodgy. Lovely.

We've had takeaways but never as good as eating out. The crab and sweetcorn soup was the best ever, real crab meat, not over salted and no additives. The duck and pancakes were lovely and everything else delicious.

I asked if it might be possible to order a Take Away to be delivered the following day at lunchtime for a family birthday lunch. Although I knew the restaurant didn't open till 5.30pm, I wasn't expecting the restaurant to agree to do this 'one' off. Andrew, who I spoke to was very amenable and was very happy to deliver my order for 2.30pm, even though he obviously had to bring in the staff earlier to enable him to fulfill the order. What service! Was so impressed that I have recommended the restaurant to several friends/family/neighbours already. The meal was so delicious. A very happy customer who will return often!

I came to Full Moon on a Christmas party and I was apprehensive because I have allergies to nuts as well as Coeliac disease (gluten intolerance) and a lactose intolerance; not easy to cater for at a Chinese restaurant! I spoke to Andrew on the phone and he talked through what he could offer me and we agreed on some food I would be happy to eat, he even checked ingredients on the phone! When the food arrived I was so chuffed, it was mostly veg but I did have chicken with it and it was absolutely delicious! I’m usually happy to get anything but the food was really tasty! Thanks so much to the whole team, we had a great night and I was so pleased to be catered for! The ABBA tribute was a great addition to the evening as well

Visited the restaurant with my family and we enjoyed every second. I can’t say what my favourite dish was as they all stood out and were all equally as delicious! Our starter was prawn toast which stood out for me - it was thick and rich. We also had the duck which was tender and moist! We then had a selection of dishes including the crispy beef and chicken in cashew nuts - I could eat these all day. They were cooked to absolute perfection. Andrew and his team were warm and welcoming. We never had a long weight between courses and are drinks were never left empty. It truly was the perfect balance of everything. I can’t believe we have only just found this hidden gem ! Don’t think twice about visiting the Full Moon !

Let me start by saying that the food in this restaurant is very tasty. However, it's not cheap and it is lacking some details that would make it a great restaurant - no chilli sauce with prawn crackers - no offer of bowl/chopsticks - no hot towel after meal You don't mind £60+ for 2 course meal for two if you have a lovely restaurant experience, but this restaurant is lacking in a few areas....

My wife and I had a set meal and the food was really excellent. This restaurant has had its' rough patches over the years, but we must rate it really good, on the basis of what was served to us.

Dinner for two starting with half crispy duck, followed by sizzling beef in black bean sauce, extra spicy, and sizzling chicken in garlic and ginger,accompanied by 2 egg fried rice. The duck was crispy and delicious, all shredded and off the bone. The mains were delivered in a steel jug then poured onto the sizzling platters...both very sizzly! The rice portions were very generous, so 1 between 2 would have been better. All in all, happy with the food and service and would go back.

Off our normal patch as meeting American friends visiting UK. We’d heard good reports so checked out the Full Moon. It’s very white and bright inside. Needs a dimmer switch. And empty... initially worrying. The waiter cheered us up with his comedy routine. Once the duck arrived we knew all was well. Very tasty. The starters were superb. Especially the squid. Delicious. Main courses equally surprisingly good. Excellent food. Will visit again. Hoping waiter has brushed up on his wine skills. It’s not usually referred to as “some of that French red stuff.”

Very very poor staff are very nice the actual dining areas are clean but could do with a wee decoration but it's fine toilets were disgusting as seen on photos the food very very greasy for this area you think it would be fantastic they gave you small plates so it would make you think you've got a lot of food there was enough food there for 1 as you can see in photograph been shoes for watery and the rest was very very greasy wouldn't come here again prices were reasonable but I think you pay for what you get I have been honest on my own opinion but I do like Good Food and don't mind paying for Good Food I wouldn't recommend this place but make your own mind up if you ever come here if the food was good in my opinion I would say so as I am a food lover and I can't recommend it in my opinion for the money I spent I should have gone so I take away

The best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had - the duck is crispy yet soft and meaty, the vegetables in oyster sauce are fantastic, the prawn crackers are so tasty, and every dish we’ve tried so far has been excellent. Would certainly recommend.

Went for a meal for the family, drinks were overpriced, ordered a pint and it was poured from cans but was charged the price of a pint. Food was ok, seemed overpriced compared to other Chinese restaurants locally. Not much atmosphere for a Friday night only our table and one other filled. Food was ok but wouldn’t recommend if you were looking for somewhere with an atmosphere.

This was our second visit to this restaurant with friends, It is their local. Always have a good tasty meal. Service and presentation always good and never any issues with the food. Andrew the manager always very friendly and chatty and makes everyone feel welcome. Service is not rushed and the place has a nice feel about it.

My wife and kids and I went for dinner again here the other evening and we never fail to enjoy the food and the nice ambience here. We have visited here many times before to eat or to get a takeaway. The owners are always so friendly and welcoming and accommodating, with excellent customer service, and I would highly recommend this Chinese restaurant to anybody in or outside the local area who is not yet familiar with it or has not been. Great menu and choice, and their eat-in sizzling dishes are really superb and yummy! The takeaway menu is perfect if you don't wish to eat in the restaurant, and with free local delivery for orders over £20. Definitely one of the best Chinese eat in and takeaway restaurants in the area, if not the best. If you have not yet tried this place out, I would really recommend you do as you are missing out on a gem!

I use to live nearer to his Chinese and it was my favourite. Recently I ordered a takeaway from here as my new local Chinese was closed. It's not as nice as it used to be. The egg fried rice was mushy and had a strange taste and the prawn crackers were definitely stale and old. I felt like I had been given someone's uncollected takeaway to eat. I hope it was just a one off as this used to be a delicious restaurant. I won't be buying from there again however.

Lobster meal was fantastic and the service was excellent the manager Andrew was extremely welcoming and polite.

The food smelled of old oil. The spring rolls were so soft you could barely break them, all pale yellow. The sweet and sour pork looked like old shrimp in grey batter with no vegetables. We threw it all away. Total waste

The Full Moon to me is more like a club, Great food and Service from Andrew the Owner and his team. Very regular clients enjoying everything that makes this Chinese Restaurant outstanding. Good choice of dishes and large portions (for me at least).

A very enjoyable night. The atmosphere and service is great. We have a nice pot of tea as drinks, a platter as starter, a few dishes shared between us and a dessert. In general the style is genuine Cantonese which is lighter in taste to match with the natural taste of food. In particular the steamed fish is my favourite: In a place where fried fish is common, this dish is a very welcoming change which reminds me the true taste of fish.

We arrived for the Sunday Buffet and they offer a set price for children so we thought our family would be welcome. When we arrived we were shown to a table and passed some menus, getting the impression we were far from welcome in there- with three boys maybe they were worried we'd be disruptive but they are well behaved and sat nicely. A couple walked in and were offered prawn crackers and drinks straight away where as we had to ask. We ordered from the set menu and as part of the terms and conditions you have to eat more than 50% or pay the full price for the dish. We heard another couple be told not to order so much next time, they left as we arrived so we knew to be careful with what we ordered. The other couple left before us too and were also told not to leave so much food. We snuck some over cooked chicken balls and noodles into a bag as were hoping not to be told off but the man told us we had ordered too much anyway... there was not a lot left on the plates though!! The menu says buffet lunch but we had no choice in the amount of food that was put on the dishes!! The food was OK but I'd NEVER go in there again as we were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome right from the start. The emperor up the road is much nicer food and service. I really am not surprised it wasn't busy in there!

I took my husband to the Full Moon for his birthday treat and have to say we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic as was the service. We didn't have to wait to long between courses and were given the option of longer breaks between courses if we needed them. The food was cooked to perfection and plenty of it too. Although there was what appeared to be many regulars in the restaurant, we were not treated any different which was nice. i can not recommend this restaurant enough and will be returning again soon.

A group of us came to an 80's Night for our Christmas outing. The food was delicious and the entertainment fantastic. We danced the night away and has do much fun. Would definately come back.

Moved away 17 years ago. While living in the Hersham/Walton area, we used to frequent The Full Moon. Back to visit and returned here for dinner. Different owners but, the food doesn't disappoint. Hot and sour soup was great along with the prawn toast, crispy duck-never disappoints and the spicy beef was good too. Not sure there's a dish on the menu that isn't good.

Moved to Walton a little over a year ago and discovered The Full Moon. The food is always excellent. As we were new to the area we have tried several local Chinese takeaways, many that were closer to us, but we are convinced The Full Moon is the best Chinese takeaway we've ever had. We get takeaway from here at lest once a fortnight and have tried many dishes from the menu, not just the same old stuff. We're never disappointed. Delivery is always an option for us, but we tend to collect as that can be a little quicker. Would highly recommend.

A comprehensive menu caters for most tastes.Hardly a month goes by without this Chinese restaurant being packed on a Friday night, when the Tribute acts come to play. Everything from Abba to Tom Jones via Elvis have been heard echoing from the front doors.Big groups are catered for with ease.A daily lunch menu is offered Mon-Fri.

We used to visit this restaurant pre-children and hadn't been for a while but went back and it's still as good. The decor is a little dated, however the staff are lovely and very attentive, the food was good as always, service was prompt, a good place to go with family or as a couple if you want an everyday Chinese.

We went here to have a catch up between friends, at work. The food was lovely and fresh, hot when it came to the table and full of flavour.The staff were friendly and gave great service. I only had water to drink, my glass was filled up without even asking for it.The only one thing that let it down, was the gloomy toilets. Theses were very badly lit, boarding on the side of spooky.

I've never been to one of the 'feature nights' now so common at Chinese and Indian restaurants, so I was more than a little sceptical.However this was great fun, 2 excellent girl singers who ran though a timeline of hits in two sets. Top quality and plenty were up and dancing by the end (inc me)Food was fixed menu and not cheap @ £29.99, but we loved the ribs and good quality spring rolls. Crispy duck was fantastic. Service very good, especially as the place was packed.A very good evening.

We ate here for a late dinner on a Sunday night and weren't disappointed! The house red wine was fabulous, very smooth and a generous glass! The starters were also very tasty and again very generous portions and reasonably priced.The main meals were delicious, we tried the sweet and sour fish and the salt and pepper tofu, it was the best we've ever had!We'd totally recommend checking these guys out, the man that served us was super friendly and an amazing host knowing exactly when to come over and assist. Very professional!We will be going back!

Ate here last night in a party of three. We decided on the Chef's Special set menu and all agreed it was very good. Probably a fair price @£20 each. Five starters, crispy duck then two mains with vegetables and rice. Our genial host entertained us and ensured we had enough to eat and drink. Pleasant decor, good background music and attentive service. Will arrange a return for the Sunday Buffet.

İ really have no idea why this place is rated so highly. The prawn crackers were stale. The veg stir fry anaemic and tasteless. The salt and pepper squid was swimming in oil and not crispy. İ could go on. It's a total disappointment. Never again.

Went in a group of 6 for an Elvis tribute night. Elvis (George Elias) was excellent, but the food was really disappointing. Very small portions of very average food. At £35 per head it was not good value for money.

The restaurant was fairly empty on Saturday evening which was a bit of a worry but we should not have worried. The food was absolutely superb and the waitress could not have been more attentive.We had starters a number of different dishes to share which were all cooked to perfection. Went there last week. Loved it there years ago but Deffo think standards have dropped. Crispy beef had no beef in it and 4 lagers which equated to 2 pints were charged at 16. Was charged over 50 quid for 2 starters, 1 main course, 2 rice and equivelant of 2 pints of lager. The food without the beef was ok but nothing amazing. Really disappointed.doubt I will be going back in a hurry

I have been using this restaurant for many years. I find the food to be of consistently high quality, and the prices to be very reasonable. Look out for regular themed nights (eg. Elvis act) which can make a nice change, and are fixed price (plus drinks & tip only). I can also recommend the Sunday Buffet which offers a wide range of dishes for a great price. Local free delivery is also available.

I live in the area and when looking for a Chinese take away last night, I was taken back by the great reviews of this place (previously used the Emperor) so decided to give it a try. WOW, it was the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten, the crispy Mongolian lamb is more like soggy Mongolian lamb fat & gristle? The Kung Pao chicken was simply awful and tasteless and the crispy chili beef was missing a vital ingredient.... BEEF? and even the prawn crackers were stale? I literally threw the whole lot in the bin, what a waste of money, food & time. I was so disappointed i just had to write a review.......It ruined my Sunday night.

This is the best Chinese in the area, if a little on the high side when it comes to price. Their Singapore noodles are to die for. Highly recommended.

We went by Tripadvisor on this one, seven of us, very good friendly service, and the food was very nice. A quiet restaurant just outside the town, would recommend if you are staying in the area on business.

We mainly use this restaurant for takeaways, but when we can we love to sit in as service is very good and friendly. We used to use the Orient in Esher but the food here is now better. The restaurant also is open all day on a Sunday which is a great bonus you can eat from the buffet at lunch time or order of the menu. The wine also is very well priced.

We have been eating here and getting take aways for nearly 30 years.The welcome is always friendly and service caring and swift, it's family owned and we have been seeing the same friendly faces for may years.The food is traditional Chinese, great Scallops, Lobster and wonderful Peking Duck, order that in advance. Food not over sauced, all fresh and delicious inc vegetables.Laziness means I have been receiving more take aways than eating in.It's still good value for the quality and a family institution.We love it.

Ordered a takeaway for 2 on a Friday night we collected 25 minutes later and the food was ready. We order the house menu for 2 at £33 and found the food to be full of flavour and hot with a good variety. Will definitely use again.

Went here for the first time last night on neighbours' recommendation. Very good food and reasonably priced. Pleasant and efficient service. The highlight was the crispy duck which was moist and flavourful(and crispy!) and the best I've had for ages.

For what we got we found this restaurant a bit pricey and poor value for money. A meal for two with a shared starter was £60, and that was with one soft drink each.That would be fine if the food was of a high standard but I would describe it as mediocre at best. The hoisin sauce with the duck was VERY salty and the roast pork chow mien tasted extremely smokey, which we didn't feel was intentional.The staff were polite and friendly enough and they seemed to be doing a brisk trade in takeaways but I wouldn't go here for a sit down meal again.

We always go to the full moon for birthdays, and are never disappointed. Although the prices have gone up somewhat since we were last there, the food is of very high standard. The restaurant was full of both people eating in and people collecting take away's but the service was still spot on

Exceptional service, such helpful advice about dishes and what our preferences were. Ingredients seem freshly cooked rather than 'stewed' for hours in advance. Not so much msg and sugar added. Think the sauces were fresh rather than from the cash and carry. A la carte full menu with some house specials (which are delicious) and on most days there is an 'all you can eat' offer for £19 - treat yourselves and go mad! Good selection of wines, beers, etc. Not a huge impersonal place, good atmosphere. If you want a lively night go to one of their themed evenings with music and entertainment provided - terrific fun, but you are more squashed in on those nights. A cut above your average Chinese restaurant.

The set menu was superb, with a delicious selection of food and the service was friendly and efficient. The entertainment was fun, although the singer could have been better. The cost was higher than usual for New Year but the usual pricing would be good value for money.

It looks like your averidge chinese from the outside, albeit with the occasional tribute singer, you know, Elvis and Frank Sinatra.Dont be fooled, the food is good and the service is slick. Luckily we went when there was no entertainment, I encourage you to do so also.

This was our first visit in six years. The ambiance is much better and the restaurant has been painted and redone beautifully. The food was excellent and also the wine. The Full Moon has been in operation ever since I can remember as a child. It's a well known independent which offers good quality, good value food. Free delivery on orders over £20 locally as well.Becoming famous for its themed music nights, where for a set fee (plus drinks), you can enjoy live entertainment such as an Elvis impersonator while you eat.The place isn't as popular as one might expect for eating in on non-event nights, and I'm not sure why. I suspect that the previous management (it changed a few years back) used to be too efficient in cleaning away plates etc. whilst the customers were still eating, and I believe there may still be a legacy from those times.It's friendly, and the takeaway is FAST. Give it a try!

Still my favourite chinese for takeaway in the Walton / Hersham area after 12 years, and I've tried lots! Tastes a lot fresher than most. The house set meals for two usually do us for a dinner and a lunch the following day - good value.My only criticism is that the restaurant lacks atmosphere sometimes - it can be a little too quiet.

If I search for 'Chinese Restaurant' Google will throw up at least 20 within a couple of miles and I'm sure that over the years I've tried them all. So, why do I keep going back to the Full Moon? Simply because the food is consistently the best. In 15 years I've never had a bad meal. The menu is reasonably extensive, prices are average for this area and the staff are excellent - most of them have been here for ages, another positive in my mind.Like all reataurants, they are fighting for customers to keep going; unlike many they have come up with a novel concept (for a Chineese reataurant anyway) of hosting and Elvis tribute act AND an ABBA tribute act. ABBA is not my cup of tea, but the Elvis impersonator is very good and makes for a fun evening.In any event, if you're a fan of Chinese food try the Full Moon. Whether you eat in or take away I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
