The best restaurants serving Chinese food in South East

i've not been to this place in over 10 years; i used to go semi regularly, having been in the village for 30 years. i don't go coz of the amount of MSG and sugar in chinese restaurant food, but thought I'd treat myself. duck was really good, size good, and sauce was pretty good. however, the measly 3 tiny spring rolls for 3.30 ruined it! come on guys; that's INSANE. other than that, i'll come again, and try something vegetarian.

Review date: Sept 2023 The Great Wall isn't as it was under its old owners (which was the best Chinese takeaway myself and my American best friend ever had). While the portions of rice and noodles I received last year were good, there was only about half as much sweet'n sour pork (Hong Kong style) that I would have expected, the noodles and meat felt like they could have been cooked a better (the chicken felt a bit tough and the pork a bit undercooked), and everything tasted far too fatty, oily, and salty. On the three times I've visited it since the reopening (over the span of two years), every time I've come away with utterly agonizing stomach cramps; something that didn't happen under the old ownership. As the persons I interact with are nice, I didn't want to give the Great Wall a negative review, but I honestly cannot recommend this restaurant anymore. Every time I've been there has led to food poisoning, painful stomach cramps, and disappointing food.

We had a lovely take away from this restaurant last night, this is the 3rd time we've used them and the food has been consistently good. It's also so nice that they have their own delivery driver, so you don't have to faff around on an annoying 3rd party app to get your food (normally cold!).- our food was delivered hot and on time, by an extremely well mannered driver. The prices are also very good- well done Li's Sizzling House, keep up serving us all lovely food with great service.

We ordered takeaway from the restaurant; waited about 15-20 minutes and food was still piping hot by the time we got home at 10 minutes walking distance. Egg fried rice could use some more salt, crispy squid was slightly too salty but really not bad, beef with garlic and chilli sauce was nice, mixed vegetable foo yung was okay. They gave us a bunch of free crackers which we love. There are of course much better Chinese takeaways in the UK but this isn’t the worse. £22 for those 4 dishes + crackers was unbeatable.

Quick service. Lovely staff. Favorite of food is 10/10.

Probably the best Chinese Tackaway around at the moment, ordered HOT chicken curry and rice , lovely kick and flavours spot on !

The takeaway service from He Wei is consistently impressive! Their food is incredibly tasty, and they always deliver promptly. The atmosphere they create is lively and filled with friendly conversations and banter. I highly recommend He Wei to anyone seeking a delightful dining experience.

First class service chips over cooked

Ordered online through the website for delivery at 21:10. Order came 30 minutes early when was not home. However, driver left in safe spot and food was still warm upon getting home. Food was excellent, and the customer service was even better as got a call apologising for the inconvenience of the delivery which was a great touch of hospitality. Food was exceptional and this will become our local Chinese. Definitely recommend.

Food is just 'ok'. Not authentic Chinese really, but at least spicy and salty. Wouldn't order again

Food cold again, and only half a bag of chips and missing food

Sadly I really didn’t enjoy the food. The noodles were dry , the salt and pepper chips burnt with no taste , the satay chicken sticks were ok but a bit dry and the prawn crackers were soggy . Won’t be ordering again as I’m really disappointed. Most of the food ended up in the bin .

Ordered delivery have found what I believe to be squid in my vegetable noodles no idea why it would end up in there as isn't even squid noodles available on the menu so feel it's been deliberately placed in there could be very dangerous if you have allergy,I am vegetarian and cannot eat sea food for religious reasons aswell so am very disappointed and has effected my wellbeing unfortunately won't be ordering from here again that is a shame as some of the other food is good
