Absolutely disgusted with tonight's food. Over the years I have seen the quality go down hill. But always loved there chip kebab. Husband ordered a sweet and sour chip kebab for myself and vegi spring rolls. He ordered chicken balls with barbecue sauce. He got sweet and sour instead. Okay it was busy mistakes can be made. But my kebab looked nasty. It looked like gravy as so thick and the thought when I looked at it was 😫. As soon as I picked it up it fell apart. I could not eat. Never have I ever thought as ill just looking at this kebab. Which is not good. Straight in the bin it went. This has totally turned myself of ever from getting a takeaway from here any more.

Can say hand on heart ate from here for easily 40 years .... My go to for chip gravy/curry kebab . Also used to order Chinese meal from here and don't think I have ever had a bad meal . Perfect long may they continue

was down on hoilday and tryed this chinese .orderd over the phone,and went pick up our meal and hr later.the meal was ready and hot when collect.food was quite large portions and very tasty .i would recommend this chinese its reasonable priced ,and we had a good meal.we will definetly have again next time we are down that way

absolutely disgusting, chicken had a funny taste curry sauce was gross, didn't touch the singapore noodles as they smelt funny honestly the worst chinese ever.

Placed a order at 6pm tryed to place the order using the menue numbers and the lady said she did not need the numbers off the menu as she knew her menu. our order it arrived at 8.10 cold and not what I ordered. I orded satay chicken which came in a very runny sauce when i had asked for the dry skewers. I orded salt and chilli dry chicken and it came in a cold sauce and was like jelly. Rang to complain and was told that was what I ordered then when I explained she had different types on her menu she then explained that her menu changes all the time and can't guarantee the food will be the same as the menu........ whatttt the hell... I run a cafe I could never take a order without explaining there was a change. We were offered a new meal but that it would take 2 hrs again. Not exceptible. Then she apologised and hung up. I'm £50 Out of pocket with unedable food. We gave been a customer of there's since 2005 and will never go there again. Avoid at all cost.

We’ve been having Chinese here since I was a child and I’m now a mum and we only get Chinese from here. Food is always fresh and delicious 😋

Love this Chinese! Definitely the best in Barry..wouldn’t go anywhere else! Delivery is always fast, food is hot and great prices too

The photo shows a 'Fresh' large spring roll. Took it back. Owner showed me a Tupperware container of grey bean sprouts claiming they were white and fresh. Fresh apparently means defrosted from the freezer. Awful food. Awful Service. Stay Clear. Food hygiene rating not displayed anywhere in the takeaway nor on the door or window. Checked online and they only have a 3*. Print screen included in my pictures.

In summary, food was bland and lacked flavour, Angel, far east and Yangs in that order of preference are superior in terms of quality and taste. So read 100% reviews and thought why not give it a go? food was ok, nothing horrendous but nothing special. Chips were small crinkle cut, chicken and mushroom was good, chow mein lacked flavour, bit bland. Singapore noodles had no heat whatsoever, in fact tasted exactly like chow mein with bit more soy sauce. Pancake roll was also lacking flavour. Disappointed....

Love the food here bit expensive but still love it .could do with using trays instead of bags with gravy in your chips and mixed kebab but it is great gravy

Best Chinese in Barry! Every time I order home delivery it always arrives on time or earlier, piping hot and delicious

It's a long way from Derbyshire for a Chinese but I do try to pop into the Golden Star when I'm in Barry. I couldn't really pick a favourite dish, so many great options.

We use the Golden Star quite often. A good selection of food on offer. Excellent food and a very good and friendly service. You can order a delivery if needed. Parking available very close by. I can thoroughly recommend this takeaway

This is a very good takeaway the staff friendly the food is very good they deliver and prices are fair and it is long established.

The shop it's self could do with a Refurbishment but other than that the Starter Hot &Sour; Soup & Main Sweet and sour pork was Excellent, Better Than the more Expensive chinese's in Cardiff !!!
