Polite staff, always helpful and speedy service. Food always tasty and plenty of it.

This place used to be good, 20 years ago! I feel the quality of the food has gone down Hill. The potion sizes are half what they used to be, it's a shame.

Wonderful Chinese place that has never disappointed. The only issue is I always forget they don't take cards, only cash. So stop off at the cash point before you go to order. The food is fantastic and full of flavor. If you're around and want some Chinese, this is the place to go.

Ordered food and it never turned up, won’t answer phone and not even told us they wouldn’t be delivering. Waited over an hour so it’s too late to order from anyone else, absolute joke and glad I didn’t have to pay in advance or they’d have actually stolen and I could report it. What a joke!!!

Excellent hygiene rating. Food is good, but smaller portions (esp fried rice) and more expensive than my regular takeaway. And they only take cash. I don’t think that’s good enough tbh

The chicken balls were the only thing that were edible. The noodles were extremely dry and the rice had a nice crunch to it 🤢

Mayfar is probably one of the nicest takeaways in the town of Llantwit Major. I love the food here, portion sizes are just right for 1 person or whether it be sharing with someone. Definitely 5 stars

Always had a good take away from May Far . Been going there for many yrs . Would like a larger portion of rice to go with the meals . As I find the rice portion small.

I ordered sweet and sour chicken and not going to lie the sauce was so bad I think you'd have to be pregnant to be able to eat that

Thought this was a nice place until I found something black in my chicken ball. And have been up all night being sick and have got a very bad belly. Will never be ordering from here again, don't think I've been this ill in years!!¹

Just ordered big delivery, spent nearly £50 and we're missing half our order which we have paid for, cash on delivery! As we are the last order of the night at 11:30pm we have tried and tried phoning for the rest of our food but cannot get hold of anybody!!

Very nice food excellent service

First time trying this take away as we were staying at a local campsite, delivery arrived within 15 minutes and food was absolutely beautiful. The curry was very hot, but even our 11 year old enjoyed it. Salt and chilli chicken was perfect also! We will definitely order again when we come back. Lovely helpful staff.

I had a train to catch at 5:11pm from Llantwit Major, however Mayfair wasn’t due to open until 5pm. I knew that I wouldn’t make the train, therefore I tried my luck and called them at around 4:30pm. They were so helpful!! They gave me my complete order at 4:45pm!! Absolutely elite service, the owner was very friendly. One of the staff members was also extremely nice, he spent a bit of time talking to me and made my day. ALSO THE FOOD WAS PENG. <333

The food is fantastic. The staff are friendly, the premises are clean. The food is piping hot & plentiful. It's tasty, and they don't skimp on the prawns like some places do. And service is always pretty quick.

MAY FAR WAS THE WORST CHINESE EVER!!!They shoves their money back at me in a disgraceful way and never said sorry after a 2 hour wait for some chicken balls and rice. I asked how long it was going to take and they said 20 minutes as if!NEVER GO TO THIS CHINESE EVER I highly recommend Rogers takeaway

We all needed to eat and not knowing the area used good old google and found this take away. Ordered the food by phone and spoke to very pleasant gentleman who went through the order. Drive down to the take away and received a very warm welcome. Food brought out in two minutes. All the dishes we’re beautifully prepared and more than we could eat. Highly recommend this take away ...

We have been using this take away for several years and never had a bad meal. Staff are friendly and efficient. The May Far has its regulars that use it every week and will deliver locally, unfortunately we are outside the delivery area but if you ring and order the food is ready when you get there. I would also recommend Big Sams chip shop a few doors up for fish and chips.

Visitor here as the manager of our local take away moved here to work. Very tasty food (noodles and sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style ). Price was good too. Great service. Will be back for more

Live the food here, though weird when you find cucumber chunks in the food. Primary choice of takeaway when we are after a Chinese.

I would not recommend this establishment due to poor quality and expense due to its small non existent portions. I ordered chicken fried rice, 2 chicken and Chilli portions and chips. Very disappointed as the chicken resembled a dogs chew bone; that being a tough batter and stringy chicken also the chips were hollow i.e no potato. The food looked like it was prepared 3 days ago. When I complained they blamed it on my son who picked it up as it as he was sat there for 5 minutes before collecting it. Well correct me if I'm wrong but what about the orders for home delivery that go from door to door waiting to get to its destination? Does the quality of the food decrease on arrival to the door such as being dried up and non existence? This was an expensive dinner for my dog's!

Great takeaway, I have been there many times and the food is great. The staff are friendly and the service are clean and tidy. The do a delivery service which is always on time. This is the best Chinese takeaway in Llantwit major and the local area. Big thumbs up.

Ideal for an evening in or to soak up the alcohol on your way home from a boozy night out. Love the house special fried rice, the mainstay of any meal from here.

Really nice food, we have never had a bad meal. The staff are great and if you get a home delivery it's fast and hot. Easy parking and in Llantwit town center so a must after a few drinks in town. Thumbs up for this.

Honestly ive eaten in a lot of restaurants and had more take away's than i should but honestly this is the best Chinese ive ever had! I wish they had a restaurant instead of just take away! Get your orders in, brilliant every time

Have used the May far in Llantwit Major for many years and it is still a very nice place to get a good take away on the way home and hopefully will be able to use it for many years to come

Friendly owners and staff but it's about the food, which I personally think is not the best in the area. I find the food here a little bland, watery and bulked up with the cheaper ingredients. For example my chow mein meal had little meat or bean sprouts and was mainly noodles. The cup of sweet and sour sauce we had had the viscosity of water and didn't have much flavour. Rogers and Loks Kitchen, the Chinese takeaway we usually use, were closed so we went to May Far. May Far is okay but we prefer Rogers in Llantwit Major or Loks Kitchen in St Athan which both get five stars.

Great food, you do have to wait a little while due to popularity. And sometimes they won't answer the phone if their too busy, but food is always good

Empezamos a visitar este tome en 1992, y la comida es el mismo sabor y calidad fantástica ya que era hace todos estos años. Acaba de comer un pollo al curry con arroz frito, brotes de soja y lo recomiendo encarecidamente. El pollo siempre es tierna y sabrosa, y la salsa curry es exactamente como recuerdo de principios de los 90. El servicio es estupendo, siempre una bienvenida fantástica. Nunca tienes que esperar mucho tiempo. Excelente relación calidad-precio, y sin duda la mejor llevar en Llantwit Major.

I use this quite often the service is first class, my family love the food! Delivery can be up to an hour but it's worth it.

This is the 2nd visit to the May Far so I wanted to just make sure before writing my thoughts .... It was disappointing very mediocre and bland , nothing special.

One of the best that I have been to. The food is always hot and delicious and at a reasonable price. You can also order your food over the phone line and they will tell you about how long it will be.

Awful chow mein a few noodles with rubbery chicken stuck on the top, bbq ribs obviously cooked previously and plain then a very weak sauce poured over the top sorry won't be eating again.

Todo el personal es encantador, pero se llena... Si quieres tu comida entregado más tarde, llame antes y reservar en... Sencillos!

Sólo tenía una para llevar la casa especial pedidos chop suey" al platillo con arroz porción extra de duros. Llegamos en bañera chop suey" al platillo de plástico - la mitad de los contenedores llenos con arroz hervido?? Así que la mitad de la comida!! Luego de un recipiente de plata extra arroz hervido? Tengo el chop suey" al platillo y nunca he tenido media y media de arroz chop suey" al platillo. Me siento estafado. Lo que es aún más sorprendente el hombre que tomó el pedido dice siempre ha sido de esa manera -, sin embargo, cuando la orden era no pedir la preferencia de arroz de los chop suey" al platillo de huevos duros o fritos. Muy confundido. Y aún hambre como contenedor de plástico lleno de arroz era en su mayoría. Aquí me la especulación inteligente piensa! El tema corriendo con este es que la mayoría de platos para llevar el mismo sabor o son, en efecto, sin sabor. La última visita me temo.

Visitamos esta noche, la primera vez en mucho tiempo, solía ser clientes habituales. Pedimos Curry frito, arroz y soja, muy rápido, y la comida muy sabrosa. Excelente relación calidad-precio, no creo que la razón por la que hemos dejado pasar tanto tiempo entre las visitas. Seguro que volveré a usar más a menudo a partir de ahora!

Fuimos a recoger una comida rápida después de trabajar en diciembre. Creo que tenía un pollo Ball comida bandeja con salsa de curry y fideos. La espera de la comida que ordenar y preparaban era bastante larga como la Fachada de personal de Casa también tomar órdenes de teléfono y atiende a los clientes al mismo tiempo que hay que admitir que no es su culpa.

Para ser justos uno de los mejores restaurantes chinos llevar que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo. Obviamente ocupado la persona que toma la llamada era educado y servicial, explicó había ocupado y entrega puede tomar hasta una hora, llegó a menos de 40 minutos, con un costo muy razonable de entrega. La comida estaba llena de sabor y como siempre habíamos pedido mucho ... aún chino para el desayuno no estuvo mal del todo.

Recientemente me llamó Puede con mucho a la orden una llevar el sábado por la noche.me llamó a las 10 de la noche esperando que aún estaban entregar y a mi suerte que eran. Puesto mi pedido y tenía ganas de unas deliciosas chino.

We always go to the Mayfar if we have a takeaway, best one around. Food always consistant. Always hot. I like the King prawn Kungpo. Lots of prawns and cashew nuts. Tasty

Never had a bad meal from there. Food & service brilliant. Price seems fine. Seems to be a very popular takeaway so food must be good. They deliver as well not sure what the charge is though.
