My usual Chinese takeaway was closed, so I came here instead. It's ok.

Ordered the salt & pepper box with CURRY! got salt & pepper box with sweet & sour, the most inedible Chinese I think I’ve ever had 😞

Absolutely shocking. Food arrived late, cold and soggy. Seems it was left in the bag for a long time. We paid over the phone when ordering, was asked for payment on delivery, explained we've paid by card, then had someone banging our door 2 hours later at 2145 hrs demanding we had to pay! We showed our online banking as proof and still had attitude from the delivery driver. We called them back and turns out they've overcharged us! Very unprofessional service. Won't be using again.

Would not recommend this place to anyone. Terrible experience. Came to Barry for a trip and was disappointed badly.

Food is always amazing . Quick delivery , friendly and nice hot food

I can’t share the enthusiasm for this place from other reviewers unfortunately. After we had ordered we noticed the mess in the room behind the counter which didn’t inspire confidence that the kitchen is a clean and well maintained environment. As to the food: someone needs to tell them that ribs should be slow cooked so that the meat falls from the bone rather than have to be hacked off with a steak knife. The barbecue sauce was a glutinous mess of cornstarch coloured with red food dye and certainly not authentic barbecue flavour. Chicken in ginger and spring onion was overpowered by onion leaving just enough space for about two spring onions. There was very little sauce. Egg fried rice didn’t taste fresh and may just have had about half an egg in total. About 80% of this meal for two went in the bin so pretty much a waste of money: it wasn’t worth it or the effort in carrying it home. Not recommended.

Terrible. We ordered from them and they said estimated delivery would be between 60-90 minutes. On the 90th minute they changed the status to "delivery denied" or declined. We called them, no answer. We were not happy. Won't be ordering from here again.

Don't go by the picture menu on the Web, way more expensive, got stung for £20:00 more

Amazing food - so tasty and reasonably priced. Delivery driver was lovely and arrived within the hour quoted. Ordered the chicken chow mein, egg fried rice and curry sauce. Absolutely stunning. Definitely my Chinese Takeaway of choice, now. Compliments to the chef :)

Staying in The Mount Rooms near by for a few nights and we've been out all day so quite tired and hungry.. We went on the look for a Chinese, luckily this is literally just around the corner. Friendly staff, great food & price. I would highly recommend :)

Very fast delivery if you live near, food tastes really good and fresh, if they had better chips it would be a 6 star 👌

In my opinion, the best Chinese takeaway in Barry. I have ordered from others but end up coming back to Angel as they are prompt, pleasent and very reasonably priced. (Sound have also mentioned their food is by far the best tasting too)

Food ok, a bit greasy though. But 2 dishes at almost £15 is absolutely ridiculous. Usually use Lucky Chef on Broad Street same food more than £3 cheaper. Needless to say will not buy returning !!

Absolutely outstanding food meat was soft full of flavour the food was perfect really enjoyed every bit of it 5* all day thank u lady on phone was so polite and cheerful cant fault her delivery driver was lovely x

First time ordering from Angels Chinese and the food was amazing. I live in Rhoose and the food arrived HOT which cant be said for many takeaway's when they have to travel from Barry to Rhoose. Highly recommended to everyone if you want tasty Chinese food. A*****

we have had a few meals from here lately and they have been very good with plenty of food and really tasty not like some other places we know, didn't wait long for the order, try them if you like this food

Rarely take the time to review takeaway food but we had an excellent meal from here much better than other places in the area deserves high praise

5* food always 100%. Regular customer for our chineese treat nights .. Kind and friendly staff. Delivery always prompt food delicious. Prices are reasonable Never had an issue.

Absolutely love this place. Staff are always friendly, the menu choice is huge and always tasty and delivery is fast. Guaranteed if I ask my family where they want to order a take away from, Angel's is always their answer!

possibly the worst ever greasy all tasted the same just aweful lucky we had other food in are holiday home stay away food in bin.

I had a really delicious meal from Angels. The salt and pepper dishes are out of this world, full of flavour and with just the right amount of spice to put them in a league of their own. All very good value and quick service with a smile. I’m hooked!

Ordered a mixed Szechuan with Fried Rice, both were very good, I also ordered a bag of chips that for me were poor, why do most take away's use dry oven chips. But will have another meal delivered soon.

Sorry to say this Chinese is anything but heavenly! The food is way way to greasy! The rice is so sticky when it shouldn't be and the BBQ sauce is terrible. Way overpriced for what you get.

Tried this relatively new takeaway on impulse the other evening. They really know their stuff. Generous portion of crispy fried beef, and for dessert, a new one to me - some homemade chocolate & banana pancake rolls absolutely delicious but full of calories. Can’t wait to try some of the other dishes on offer!

Ordered a take away and on arrival was completely ignored. When asked the lady about our order I was advised "must still be cooking", then walking off!!! I then walked off through the door without my take away. Worst place and diabolical service.

I first visited Angels when I moved to Barry over year ago with my family and we have been regulars ever since and never had a poor meal. I recently noticed they had a new menu with more vegetarian items so we have been trying some of the new dishes as well as the old favourites. It can now get very busy, particularly at weekends but it is well worth the wait and I really believe the staff when they say everything is cooked to order.

Tucked away just off the end of the High Street in Barry my wife and I found this takeaway when our usual "local" was closed. The menu isn't as comprehensive as some "freezer to fryer" places but none the worse for that. We has some delicious freshly made pancake rolls - these are not the mini ones but larger and packed with prawns, pork and bean sprouts - a meal in themselves!

This new takeaway is a great addition to the Chinese offerings in Barry which just seem to be more of the same tired and unimaginative dishes.. Freshly cooked food with no additives or other junk. Highlight of our meal was the crispy beef which was really the best we have ever tasted. We also had crispy duck which was meaty and delicious. King prawn sweet and sour was another highlight - the prawns were indeed king size unlike some of the undernourished specimens that can feature on takeaway menus. All in all a good meal and I can see our household becoming regulars at Angel's if they keep this standard up.

My wife and I thought we would try a different Chinese take away to our usual one. Initially we were impressed by the service - we were reminded of a 10% discount for spending more than £15 and the food was delivered with a smile and a Christmas card. The pancake rolls and egg fried rice were nice but the main meals were largely wasted. My wife's Chicken Satay was so spicy it masked any peanut flavour that may have been in the dish. My Duck in Plum Suce was even worse. The duck was deep fired in batter with its skin on and was too fatty to stomach. I managed to pick the meat out but left 200g of fat (a mixture of batter and skin). I took the fat back to the restaurant expecting an apology and refund but the owner explained that it was meant to be like that and batter wasn't fatty! Rather than argue I just said I would not be returning. The owner then offered me a refund with a smile but it was too late.
