Clean shop, attentive staff and an easy way to order on the app. I had 3 dishes, a chicken fried rice, been chow mein and crispy chilli beef. All in all it came to about £23. Whilst very expensive and not the biggest of portions, the food was next level and I cannot fault it.

I am surprised by some of the negative reviews here as this is without doubt the best quality Chinese takeaway I have ever had. The food is definitely on the more expensive end of the takeaway spectrum, but the food is uniformly superb and delicious. I have never had a bad dish from here with the chow mien, salt and spicy dishes and Hong Kong style sweet and sour particularly good. The food comes in cardboard boxes rather than the more common plastic containers and while they can initially look smaller, they really are not. I would for prefer to pay more and get something excellent than pay less but get something average, which is why we order from here so often.

We had a special fried noodle dish with chicken, prawns and pork. The pork and prawns were fine but the chicken was like tofu, in fact I had to get the menu out to make sure it wasn’t tofu. It was not a great meal, and quite expensive at £10.30 each! We will not be back.

Not very good am afraid, we enjoyed the chicken and prawn balls & the prawn toasts but special curry & chicken & mushrooms in oyster sauce wasnt very good at all! Egg fried rice tasteless! Not good value at all so was the 1st & last time ordering from the Lantern Barnham

The food was average at best, and we felt poor value for money. Ordered 2 x set meals for 2, and Crispy Duck ( a small dry expensive portion). I asked if they had given us a meal for 4, because it didn’t look like much. When we got it home it wasn’t. Poor value and average food. Won’t be using them again.

After a long drive back from France at the weekend and not relishing cooking dinner, we opted for a Chinese takeaway. Lantern House is fairly local to us, and we've eaten from there before, but the food continues to be splendid and good value. The batter on the Chicken balls is crisp yet soft and not greasy like often from other places, and the Singapore noodles are simply divine. My wife demolished her King Prawn chow mein and on previous occasions even our children have eaten without fuss! No complaints from this happy family!! Well worth a try!

Good food, good selection and great you can order on line. Great they have a good food hygiene rating too. Will definitely return.

The food is excellent however the customer service has really disappointed us to the point we’ll no longer be customers. Upon ordering a takeaway for visiting family, some of which had a 7hr journey, it was collected however the wrong order was given to us. This was discovered after driving home to Felpham. We called and explained the situation and clarified the order again, it was getting late and we wanted to eat, by this time it was gone 9pm. My partner went to collect the new order and expected their error to be recognised by some form of goodwill gesture and apology and unfortunately that did not happen. Not only had we travelled the 5 mile journey twice by this point, we were asked to pay the difference and we’re also made to feel like it was our fault for having the same name as another customer. The member of staff was clearly new and had made a mistake, but the manager instead of apologising to us and offering a goodwill gesture proceeded to have a go at the member of staff in front of other customers and gave us a half hearted apology. Not only that but when my partner was driving home, he pulled over to receive a call from the manager ‘apologising’ again but stating they were not able to absorb the £28 difference we had to pay. Really disappointing service from a genuinely good takeaway. We won’t be back based on this experience. We’ve been coming for a couple of years and really you should recognise loyalty and own your mistakes.

Wish I had found this place years ago, only visited after out favourite restaurant closed down in the first lockdown. Such fresh ingredients, so tasty, clean and well presented. No way I would go anywhere else now, perfect food.

What a very pleasant surprise from a small local Chinese takeaway which has just changed management and had a refurb. We ordered online and the food was ready on time when we collected it. Fresh and tasty food which was delicately flavoured and plentiful. We'll be back! Any chance you can put a satay sauce dish on the menu? That's my favourite. Good selection of vegetarian/vegan dishes but could be even more.

The food was very fresh. not greasy and very tasty. Ready to collect when stated and served very well. Will defniitely go back

Had a take away meal from here on Saturday. On arrival place was packed. Waited a little while a young girl on front counter calmly managed the people. Food was amazing. New owners been there a few months. Recent new shop signage. Will be using again

This is a takeaway place, so how much can one write ? The food is excellent, fresh tasting dishes served piping hot. An online ordering site is available which is vey handy. So far the food has has always been ready when we go to collect it.

Having moved away from the area. return to visit family and went to the lantern house as time was limited, to my surprise it had been updated. well it was brilliant and fresh and I can honestly say that it was on par with some of the top Chinese restaurants in London !! lucky Barnham wish i still lived in the area to enjoy more often.

Service was polite and pleasant but sadly that's where it ended. After spending 48.00 on what was, in essence, a small meal for three people it was disappointing to find such small portions compared to what we are used to with all other local takeaways. 2 large spring rolls that were best described as small to medium, 2 rice in small portion boxes, and 2 x sweet and sour dishes in containers 2/3 the size of anywhere else and minum content. I threw away the chicken and sweetcorn soup which had caught so only tasted of burnt sesame oil. A disappointing experience with a feeling that it was poor value for money with the lower portion size and quality than other locals who would also deliver.

Food is prepared and made fresh to order.We live 15 miles away but when we get it home our food is still hot and delicious. Both very good signs of a really good takeaway!Helpful and Friendly service. Clean and tidy as to be expected.If our local is closed or whenever we’re in the area we don’t risk another bad meal, we always choose Lanterns House!

Used Lantern House since I was a kid great food please please please bring back the pork balls I remember whem I was young. Good menu well worth a takeaway off on the area

I am surprised be the negative reviews on quality of the food, I use this Chinese all the time and have never had a bad one, yes the portions could be bigger or the price lower.

This is an excellent chinese takeaway. Portions are slihghtly smaller than other local takeaways. In return the food is not greasy, cooked well and full of flavour. The staff that answer the phone and working on the front counter are friendly and helpful. They also seem to give an acurate indication of when the food will be ready; rather than a standard default answer. Now the menu is online making ordering convenient. This takeaway seems to be getting more popular. Defineatley worth ordering via phone rather than just rocking up.

Cold, miserable day, pouring down with rain. Let's get a take away! And wow, it's been a long long time since I've felt so badly ripped off. We had a simple, Spring roll, Chicken balls and a Chow mein. Firstly, there was supposed to be 8 chicken balls, which you pay over £5 for, there was only 4 in the packet. Secondly, £2.80 for two (as you can see from the picture) tiny spring rolls, that's a packet of Tesco lemsip next to it in the picture by the way, Oh! And they were both still half frozen in the middle. And the Chow mein, was just terrible! It tasted somehow off and had almost no vegetables or sauce.

The food was delicious. Portion sizes were just right not too little but also not huge massive portions that are wasted. We did over order as normal. Wasn’t greasy like a lot are. Freshly made to order but well worth the wait will dedonraelf be coming back.

Food is very flavoursome, made freshly to order, which means a little bit of await but its worth it. Friendly service. The establishment appears to be clean .

Our favourites are the Chow mien, sweet & sour, and curry’s all great quality and good value. Re-vamped and looking great, watching the chefs preparing the food.

Food tasted ok but the portion sizes were tiny look at the pictures won’t be visiting again. Only good thing was it was open Monday’s.
