The best restaurants serving Chinese food in Colchester East of England

Food was due at 1850. Food was over an hour late. Freezing. The driving didn’t care. Rang the restaurant who said the driver had left at 1830 however it still didn’t arrive until 1955.

Great food and friendly staff, it does get very busy because the food is awesome, I try and go as often as I can when work allows.

We’ve been going to Wongs for at least 30 years, first Tim and now Tom. Lovely food and always ready on time. Tom recognises who I am as soon as I say hello. I would definitely recommend them.😃

We went not realising it had changed from buffet self service to order as you go. It was good that all was cooked as you order but the selection wasn’t as vast as previously. The waitress literally stood a foot away from us which was off putting and she kept trying to get my son to ask for sausages and nuggets, I said we didn’t want these but she still brought them out. The food was nice but we won’t be rushing back.

The food was one of the worst I've ever even and my granddaughter was ill all day thrursday and we we had to be close to bathroom facilities all day as well. Avoid this place at all costs. They were obviously trying to get rid ofold stock but at a price which my grand daughter had to pay by being very unwell the next day. We were all poorly and the food we had from there was the only thing we all ate together

Unquestionably outstanding value for money. Really good quality, well prepared authentic Chinese cuisine. Extremely friendly staff …. the Sunday all you can eat is freshly prepared straight to the table. Truly a 5/5

All the food we ordered are great and tasty! Definitely will visit again next time! The seafood pancake is crispy and full of begs and seafood. The glass noodles is nice match my expectation!

Lovely Chinese (coming from a person who isn't a lover of a Chinese takeaway) highly recommend the duck

When I booked our table month ago it categorically did not say set menu only for New Year’s Eve, this was obviously added later after our booking and had no notification of the change, we got there to be told it’s set menu only and I am vegetarian my husband is not, there was no accommodation at all for this we had to eat the same menu or leave , we had to leave the restaurant with our 18 month old baby it was awful. Never been treated like that before.

I ordered a chinese from here as my local one was closed for 2 weeks . Worst Chinese I have ever had . Chow mein and rice appalling and sweet and sour sauce tasted like bbq. Waste of my money I would not order again

Food was ok, however sauces a bit runny! Will be going back to Beijing for next meal just has that quality edge

Absolutely fantastic as always. Have been going here for years. Always brilliant food and very friendly service. The team that work here are always very lovely. Food is cooked fresh to order and brought to your table. This place is so underrated and such good value. Well worth getting the dumplings, chicken in yellow bean sauce, pork in honey, beef in black bean sauce and the lemon chicken. And of course the classic egg fried rice. Shared a lovely bottle of Mateus Rosè wine with my partner too. Highly recommend and will be back again soon.

First time trying this place and definitely do not regret it !!. The food was absolutely beautiful as being so new to Colchester was delighted to find such an amazing takeaway place so close by. Super clean,great friendly staff. Once again can't complement the food enough so fresh,hot and tasty will definitely be ordering again as such amazing price highly worth it !.
