Capital Chinese Restaurant in Colchester

We went not realising it had changed from buffet self service to order as you go. It was good that all was cooked as you order but the selection wasn’t as vast as previously. The waitress literally stood a foot away from us which was off putting and she kept trying to get my son to ask for sausages and nuggets, I said we didn’t want these but she still brought them out. The food was nice but we won’t be rushing back.

Menu is limited based on the 100 dishes offered but it keeps to the basics. This only refers to the all you can eat menu and not the a la carte. Also, it is not clearly advertised that all you can eat is available (from what I saw) bar the Sunday special. When it states 100 dishes this includes the variation of the same dish (IE with pork, chicken, beef, prawn etc).there is no dessert on the all you can eat menu. Also, the all you can eat menu is fixed: you can't alter it if it's on the a la carte. Unless you are happy to be charged extra for it. Service is excellent - the staff were attentive and bought the food out quickly. Food was very good as cooked to order! Value for money too - £17.99 (cheaper than its competitor by a £1). Overall it was a good night out and we were full!!! Food, value for money and service was excellent. It has the favourites there - can't fault it. It looked clean too.

Rude staff, took forever to get any food. Supposed to be all you can eat, but they tell you how much you can eat. Literally a joke. Cold food and very small portions. Avoid if more than two people eating.

Good food and prices, service was good and all the food was fresh and hot. Worth a visit again just for the kung po chicken.

Здесь теперь нет буфета как раньше. Теперь у вас есть выбор : заказать блюда из меню или воспользоваться Special offer и выбрать блюда оттуда. Готовилось все очень быстро и все оказалось ОЧЕНЬ вкусным!!! Здесь очень большое и разнообразное меню и совсем недорого! Атмосфера в ресторане очень спокойная и дружелюбная. Играла очень приятная, тихая музыка. Обслуживание просто великолепное. Здесь можно отмечать любые праздники. Мы получили огромное удовольствие от посещения этого ресторана и обязательно приедем сюда еще. Рекомендую всем кто любит китайскую кухню.

Me and the wife ate here today and was blown away by the food eat as much as you like cooked as you want it so don’t get cold the service was impeccable the portions were good and the jasmine tea was hot and lovely and they topped it up free of charge only criticism I have is no desert but I don’t know if you can have desert with normal menu I will ask next time and update review I would like to point out to the sweet and sour chicken lovers that this dish has no traces of vinegar it was divine try it and see enjoy

Celebrated my birthday with members of my family , a great experience, good food ( as much as you want) excellent service with helpful, smiling and attentive Manager and staff, one of the best meals out in Colchester, a must for lovers of Chinese cuisine, go and try it you will not be disappointed Definately returning and soon!

It was lovely to see the new restauranteurs completely revamped the decor with perfectly laid out tables and heating. We were given a warm welcome and our drinks brought out which are very reasonably priced. The all you can eat cooked to order menu is varied and easy to change to exactly your requests which is great. The dishes we were served were hot, authentic and full of flavour. The satay sauce was especially amazing and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. We were always asked if we would like more of something but not overbearing, we visited in the afternoon when it was more quiet but it won’t be for long easily the best Chinese meal we have had in many years!

First visit since the restaurant has re opened under new management. Fabulous food, great service, and lovely staff. We ordered on the all you can eat buffet, where each of your dishes are fresh cooked to order and brought to the table. Each dish was cooked to perfection. The spare ribs were just amazing!!

First visit since new management and what a difference, excellent food,friendly attentive staff, really good value will defiantly be returning.
