Tins willows garden in Colchester

After being recommended Tins on the Colchester Vegan page I placed an order. However, there was chicken in my tofu in black bean sauce dish. This is absolutely unacceptable, cross contamination like this can cause serious incidents.

We have ordered from Tins twice now, and both times the food has been brilliant and the service has been polite and quick. Especially being vegan it's hard for us to find takeaways that cater to our dietary requirements AND have a wide range of options for us to choose from. But not only that, but the dishes are always cooked beautifully. Also, today they accidentally made the wrong dish and still gave it to us for free! Truly brilliant service, our go to Chinese takeaway!

As someone who comes here weekly I get chilli salt chicken wings and egg fried rice. One of my friends are Vegan and they’re are very good options for vegetarians and vegans. Like mock meat, tofu. She really likes the Tofu in Sweet and sour sauce. Love the food here.

Normally tins is amazing they have super friendly staff the food is always quick and hot good portion size and there prices are very reasonable . I would normally always recommend but yesterday i got a takeaway and it was dreadfull. My pancake roll tasted like vinegar. It was so bitter. My partner got the sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style and that was not good The chicken was rock hard. The Plain noodles we ordered were rock solid and the noodles in the edges of the metal tray were crispy like they had been microwaved and My beef and mushrooms were tasteless. But special chow mein and special fried rice were on point. Im not sure if I just picked an off day as they are normally amazing but something def wasn't right yesterday

Great food. Friendly people. Excellent portion size, and, they have an extensive plant based (vegan) menu. The best takeaway in Colchester if you're looking for Chinese meat-free food. But also very delicious if you're not. (According to my friends)

New to area,first visit to Tins,will not be the last,my wife and myself have not had a takeaway for ages the food was exceptionally good,service with a beautiful smile,,so lucky to live so close,,

We are regular users of this family run business over many years. The food is excellent and very varied. It’s very good value. The chefs / owners are very particular about the quality of their ingredients and the standard is consistently excellent. They are extremely friendly and my son who works near China Town in Soho says it’s better than food he’s purchased there.

Incredible vegan options, just what Colchester is lacking! Delivery was within half an hour on a Sunday evening too, will definitely be ordering again 👏

I had visited Tins a few times before the new vegan/vegetarian set menu, but went today because me and my partner wanted to try some of the new dishes. We were not disappointed! The food was really lovely, with a really good selection. Staff were amazing as always too. We had the £15 set menu for two, with a couple of extra dishes and it cost less than £25. Brilliant food and really good value. I highly recommend Tins for other vegans. Thanks Tins, hope to see you again soon!

staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. They have a new vegetarian and vegan set menu which is the best food we’ve had in a long time. So happy to have this so close to where I live!

The worse Chinese I've ever had!!..

Ordered all the veggie set menu to try and it was sooo tasty, everyone in the family was quite while eating. Everyone loved it 10/10 on taste and the service was perfect Told us would be 10mins and it was 10mins Very happy staff very clean Best Chinese in Colchester will be back Only problem is I should of ordered more👍

The food was warm at best and considering they said it is cooked to order everything had like a stale flavour to it as if it had been reheated.

I've been a regular at Tins for a couple of years now and have always loved the food and overall experience. My partner and I are vegan, and we appreciate how accommodating Tins has been in making certain dishes vegan for us and even now bringing out dedicated vegan options! Food always delicious and reasonably priced. I'm happy to see the growing vegan community visitors as well thanks to Tins' reputation for good food!

First visit to Tin’s for us. We ordered a Saturday night takeaway for collection. An extensive menu with plenty to choose from and good value. Friendly, speedy service, spotlessly clean and the food was amazing. Very good sized portions and everything was delicious. The honey chicken with pineapple and cashew nuts was to die for. I could eat this all day! We were very impressed and will definitely make Tins our new go to restaurant for Chinese takeaway.

First time using here, it was lovely. Ribs in bbq sauce was lovely, chow mein was lovely and not greasy like some. Lovely counter staff and watch them cook it fresh. Defo will return.

Absolutely waste of money. Food is tasty. But not worth the money. Very very very small portion sizes. Spent nearly £60 on a takeaway, and not even £30 worth it. Friendly staff. But never buy from here ever again.

Best Chinese takeaway I've ever had. Super clean, everything is freshly cooked to order and tastes absolutely delicious. Also extremely good value for money. I'm a picky eater and normally avoid chinese takeaways but this one has really won me over - love their food. Would thoroughly recommend.

The service here is absolutely beautiful, The staff are friendly and helpful and helped me decide what I want to try. The food was exceptional and I really enjoyed it and I got it very quick . The food was exceptional, the service from Damian was absolutely incredible; very quick delivery times and pretty cheap relative to other places. Very good, would have again, would recommend to others.

Fast delivery, but no complimentary prawn crackers (never had that before) and portions are too small for the money, the spare ribs had hardly no meat on them. Won't use again mediocre at best.

Been coming here for years. Hands down the best Chinese take-away in Colchester. Fast, fresh & delicious, have never had it bettered. So, over a year since our first review and our love affair with this takeaway continues. Tucked away at the bottom of their menu is a "Leave it to us Meal" - we finally got around to trying it tonight for two people and Pierre did not disappoint, plenty of truly delicious dishes. If you haven't ordered from here before, go for it, you deserve a treat!

Hands down the best Chinese takeaway food in Colchester. I have been a long time customer even when I moved out of the area.... and the staff/owners always offer that personal touch and remember their regular customers. Delicious food served up nice and quickly..... you cannot go wrong here! PAUL

Visited as my usual takeaway place was closed. Staff very friendly and polite, good selection on the menu with lots of vegetarian options, and quick service. Food was OK, maybe because it wasn't our usual - place or order - just didn't quite meet expectations.

I love this Chinese, staff are excellent and food is tasty! It's always super quick and good prices too. Plus they do a lovely chicken and sweetcorn dish that I haven't seen anywhere else. Yummy.

Tried this take away for the first time last weekend, by far the BEST Chinese take away I’ve tried in Colchester. Delivery was fast and the food quality was fantastic, well seasoned and not too greasy. Really great quality, will definitely go back and their specials menu is amazing ! You can tell the chef has a passion for cooking ... not just your average take away!

Great take away. They made my rice the way I love it when I asked (I prefer it brown with more soy sauce). Their pancake rolls were awesome too , I spotted them in their kitchen 😍. But the best part about this chinese is, the staff are really lovely, friendly and really nice. Oh and I love the open kitchen where you can see all the food. Best chinese take away in Colchester .

Have used Tins Willows Takeaway for years, the range and quality of food is the best in Colchester. I have no reservations in recommending them to anyone who enjoys superb Chinese food.

A truly great take away... produce is always fresh. They source local meats and have a fantastic hygiene rating which is always important to me. The chef is extremely passionate about cooking and this shows in the food. He is a well classified chef and has many of his own recipes as special dishes which can be ordered if you go into the shop as they are all over the walls! They also do a variety of fantastic vegan and vegetarian dishes. The fried enoke mushrooms are amazing!! I highly recommend this take away and would not go anywhere else... I even think the food here is better than any Chinese restaurant in colchester. Being Chinese myself , I find it difficult to find food Asian restaurants locally but this place is affordable, delicious and consistent !

I have eaten from this Chinese and the sister one in mersea for the last 30+ years very friendly staff and great food and still some of the same staff from 30 years ago love this take away
