The best restaurants serving Chinese food in East Midlands

I enjoyed a quick pancake roll from the takeaway service. £2.90. It was very hot and crispy but a lack of content. 98% bean sprouts roll and 2% pork. Just not enough in it or flavour. Sadly as well not a pancake but a large wonton wrapper. I don't expect much but this is false advertising. Call it a large bean sprouts roll wrapper. If they had a sauce with it more stars but not a pancake roll at all. Sad!

This is a pretty good takeaway, the prices are very reasonable.

Just had Roast Pork & House Special chow meins, best chinese meal we've had for a long time, delivery was prompt, food was piping hot & very tasty also made with good fresh ingredients, definitely will use this place again & so happy with my meal i felt i needed to leave a positive review, keep up the great work Bamboo Shoot 👍

Ordered takeaway didn’t sit in so not rated atmosphere - arrived super quick, food was hot, fresh and extremely tasty. No complaints & will definitely be ordering again in the future.

Food was lovely but we paid for a bottle of Coke that was on the receipt but not delivered and for how expensive it is and after spending almost £60 you’d think you’d get free prawn crackers or spring rolls or something. Will not be a returning customer.

10/10. Always perfect; never any mistakes with my regular orders even with some modifications, no matter the day of the week. Always top quality, tastes great & piping hot (especially on collection) - most of the time you can see them tubbing it up straight from the pans. Great team.

Un encantador lugar casual para reunirse con amigos y disfrutar de una sabrosa comida china auténtica. El personal era eficiente y educado e incluso hizo recomendaciones sobre el 'calor' de los platos. La comida llegó rápido y era fresco. No es aceitoso ni aceitoso como en otros lugares donde he comido. Es muy popular entre la comunidad de Asia oriental (que siempre es una buena señal) por lo que hice una reserva (aunque no tienen un sistema de reserva en línea) , sin embargo, mi publicación con detalles se mantuvo en un lugar seguro y nuestra mesa estaba lista para nuestra llegada. Solo unas palabras de precaución, el tamaño de las porciones es bastante grande, así que tal vez menos es más al visitar. Siempre pueden traerte más si no están ocupados. Always happy with the food here, both eating in the resaurant and when we order a takeaway. A genuine, well-meant piece of advice to those complaining of slow deliveries. Order by late afternoon, on one on the apps, and request an earlyish delivery time, if you can. We like to eat between 6:00-7:00, and our food turns up pretty much on the dot.

Extremely expensive £12 to £14.99 for a main course that was extremely small portions for the amount of money, and rice, chips or eggs fried rice were all £6 extra both again extremely small portions see photo of chips as served, the food was cold and lacking in flavour. The service wasn't much better. Drinks both soft and alcoholic were expensive too Wouldn't recommend sadly

What a great night! went for a colleague's leaving get together and did not expect them to get the karaoke out after the meal, what a laugh! absolutely made my night. The food was really good and staff were lovely. will 100% go here again

2 hour delivery on a Wednesday, no explanation, not acceptable

I'am not really sure what the negative reviews are all about to be honest. We booked a table for 4 and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, the front of house staff were really nice, helpful and chatty. They asked about allergies at the start. We ordered a set meal for four comprising crackers, starters soup and then mains.....all of which were superb...highlights for me was the prawn toast and won ton for starters...not really had soup at a Chinese restaurant before but that was so nice...choice of chicken or crab...then the mains....well there was 4 and then we ordered chicken balls extra....the balls were a sensation as was the duck dish...actually there wasn't anything we didn't like and the serving plates were empty. Extra special fried rice was served when we asked and that on its own was really good too. Everything we had came out hot. We all had the 'Sun lik' larger on tap which was also very nice...the lady owner was so attentive, making sure we knew what we were ordering, answering our questions and just really having abit of banter with us too. Great night. All in all a good quality very tasty meal thank you.

I really wanted some piratha a d korma/rice. Asked for mild korma. Stung my lips as I ate it. Paid for pirathas. My fault I should have checked the bag. When I got home they weren't in there. Food was cold. Korma sauce would have been better with a straw. Very disappointed. I can make a better Korma.needed a straw. Had to drain it first. Won't go back. Shame I like Indian food.

Delicious food, home style cooking and perfect masalas. Love food from both branches
