Moghul Express in Leicester

The food here is very good and has a good homely taste and is fuss free. It always has a consistent taste, never too mild or spicy. For this reason I went over to place an order for food I’d be taking away with me 2 days later for a trip to Wales with my wife. I explained what I wanted and then reminded them of a previous order I’d made of lentil curry with rice- which again was for a trip away from home. I had told them on this occasion to make sure they wrap the foil container with cling film to prevent spillage on the journey. On the day, they had not done as I had kindly asked and lo and behold the lentil curry had spilt out although we had tried our best to prevent this by placing it securely in a bag. Today when I reminded the staff of this the owner came rushing to the front really confrontational and with a lack of customer service or respect exclaiming that they don’t have any foil or cling film (hard to believe considering it’s a local takeaway) that’s like saying a garage doesn’t have a spanner! Anyway the owner denied having any foil or cling film in the premises and it’s not their responsibility to ensure food doesn’t get spilled. It may not be a responsibility but is definitely part of providing good customer service to repeat local customers who give you their custom regularly. The young lads are friendly but the owner is a grumpy guy, standard chef behaviour!

Amazing food at this shop. Love the homely vibes and the food tastes great, great variety of food items from grill to indian curries to indo chinese favourite.

This place is great! It's a classic old place, not exotic or luxury but the staff is really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy with their food is their main priority. Ideal for a takeaway rather than eating in. Great indian chinese food. 100% worth visiting and the prices are very reasonable Food is pretty good, some italian classics and some twists, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.

Friends bought me to this place to get a takeaway and wasn't too keen at first. But wow this place has some delicious options. It might be everyone's cup of tea but i love the place. My go to spot for indian curries and chinese

Not really a place to eat in with family but I usually go during my lunch hours so perfect for me to grab some decent desi food whilst on a break. I love the Biryani and all the other daily specials. My kids love the Chinese menu (noodles and lollipop) Great value for food.

I've been a customer at Moghul for years now. Chef is really good and the food is always fresh. It's an open kitchen so you can see the food being freshly prepared. It does get a bit steamy in here as a result. My kids love the chinese noodles and lollipop from here. This is not really a place you would be coming for a romantic dinner but it's ideal for a good takeaway for the family/extended family. Highly recommend the chinese menu and the grills. The Biryani is the best too! I always have the Prawns Biryani on thursday!!

I ordered the Eid specials from moghul this time and it was spot on. I got the Biryani, Jarda and Tandoori Chicken. All three were spot on. Will need to try the menu items now.

a family friend told me about the biryani at this place so i thought why not come and try it and oh boy i was really surprised. it was really nice with the perfect amount of masala just as i like it. i have been coming often and tried the other daily menu as well and with most items you cant wrong. the paaya was really nice too. reminded me of food back home. only problem is its hard to find parking.

I always get food for my family and guests from here and everyone loves it. The food portion size is good and the price seems really reasonable for the quality of the food. Shop is too small for all my family otherwise this would be my to-go-to place on our outings. You must try the Chinese from here!!

Overpriced and portion sizes for a whole family is digusting! What a rip off! The men working there also have no respect or manners
