Since moving to chesterfield I’ve ordered from here many times and it has always been perfect, definitely my new favourite place ☺️

Golden Star was always our favourite Chinese takeaway but I think it closed for a while after the floods? I was delighted to see that they were delivering again, and our meal yesterday was as good as I remember it being. We have just had the leftovers for tea, and again it was lovely. Everything is cooked fresh with no overpowering sauce or salt. Glad to see them back, easily the best Chinese takeaway in Chesterfield.

Really impressed. Gorgeous food! The veg curry was packed with all different kinds of veggies and so tasty as were the other dishes my family ordered. Lovely surprise getting free spring rolls and prawn crackers too! Will always order from here now.

The food quality and temperature were excellent. The food arrived much faster than expected, will definitely use them again.

1st time. Tried the Salt n Pepper boxes, extra Spare Ribs and Prawn Toast. Received some delicious Veg Spring Rolls foc. Food was piping hot, delicious and not a hint of grease. The best Chinese takeaway we've had in Chezzy so far. Will be ordering again.

The food was very tasty as usual but the portion sizes are tiny now. This is particularly noticeable with the fried rice as it's now £4.50 for what would normally be a small rice.

Plain chow mein was cold. Both salt & pepper dishes were really dry and didn’t taste like salt & pepper at all.

Not much variety of ingredients in the special chow mein. Pork was very dry and chewy. Some of the prawns had a chemical ammonia taste which seems a bit dodgy to me. Had better from other places.

One of the best in Chesterfield, we've tried multiple Chinese takeaways over the years, and this is one of our all time favorites, cant say we've never had a meal from here that has disappointed. Meals have always been spot on 👍🏻👌🏻

Food was absolutely terrible. spring rolls were decent but everything else was coated in so much salt and that's all you could taste (I have no idea why someone would even need to consume that much salt). we ordered duck and all we received was duck fat with no meat. This is by far the worst Chinese we have ever ordered from and we will defo not be ordering from again.

Beef was how it should be,crispy,but thats it,not much sauce with the beef and cold! So too was the prawn fried rice.

Really nice chicken and sweetcorn soup - which other restaurants seem to struggle with. Maybe just me but I expect all the Chinese veg in my chop suey. It was lovely tasty with lots of bean sprouts but I missed water chestnuts and bamboo shoots

Had a set meal for 1 and it wasn't the best tbh all squashed into 2 containers. The chicken in black bean was like eating eating hot chilli's.. it did say it came with a drink bit didn't receive that either

The chinese parts of the meal were very tasty and really enjoyable which is a shame because the chips were terrible, soggy and tasted like they'd been warmed up a few times in the microwave.

Poor quality food, delivered Luke warm, horrible thick grace on some of the food, ‘roast’ duck was all fatty and hard to chew, tiny pieces too, very fatty! Not very nice at all and paid over £50 for the food, total waste of money

We very rarely order takeaway food. Maybe once every couple of months (if that) as we generally find takeaway food to be disappointing. BUT!! Golden Star has DELIVERED! In taste, portion size, quality and speed of delivery! We've actually ordered from them twice now, for two consecutive weeks! We would absolutely recommend it. By far the best takeaway we've dealt with this year.

Terrible service not even turned up at my house with my order £27 wasted on 4 items! and then phoned the restaurant to see where it is told me they can’t see any order placed on there tablet told them my order has been confirmed by the restaurant so why is that and the payments had been took… and no order has been received absolutely terrible service no apologies nothing!! Will never use again!

One of our dishes was not as ordered - beef & mushroom instead of chicken & mushroom - but we didn't realise till it had been dished up with rice so nothing else to do but eat it. Great food as usual, but only 9/10 this time !

We've always has good meals from Golden Star but last night's was exceptional. Honestly the nicest Chinese takeaway I have ever had. Everything was freshly cooked to perfection arrived piping hot. I can't wait to have the leftovers for supper tonight. I always order from Golden Star if possible.

We moved to Chesterfield about 5 years ago and it took a while to find dependable quality takeaways. My daughter recommended Golden Star and since then we've only ordered from them if possible. This evening we ordered a 'small' meal for two, with the full intention of having leftovers for tomorrow. It was quite honestly the nicest Chinese takeaway that we have ever had. The food arrived quickly, piping hot, and cooked to perfection. I am already looking forward totomorrow's supper.

Was delivered to wrong place. Then got told to get it from the wrong house. Which I refused then got another order but came cold.

I paid for a special omelette and it was special so special it was an ordinary omelette with peas and absolutely zero filling. Now that is special. Paid over £8.00 for an omelette that was £6.00. Food was nice and the delivery driver was amazing

Tasty food, perfect portion size and great service!

Went into the takeaway and they could only accept cash which I think is crazy nowadays. No ATM nearby so had to order from just eat. The food was tasty but cold, odd since the takeaway is five mins walk away. A shame because this was always my go to Chinese before they ramped up the price and this was supposed to be a special treat.

Substitute cheap chicken in a watery curry sauce.Expensive for what we got.Had from here before but was well below standard I got the first time.Cheap ingredients used

Overall not very nice. I have had excellent food from here before but this time it wasn’t nice. Rice undercooked, coating on S/S Chicken not crispy at all but very soggy. Gravy not nice on chow mein.

Always good food from Golden Star

Crispy Shredded beef was tough and not crispy. Chicken balls were doughy under the surface. Salt and pepper chips were ok. Special fried rice was standard. Over all, disappointing for the price

Can’t complain about how long it took to come, bang on time and plenty of it. However this food just made me sad. Overcooked noodles, bland everything, dry meat, crab claws that were just oddly gooey. Not a single dish was finished. I’ve had better, much better, not sure I’ve had worse though.
