One of the best in Chesterfield, we've tried multiple Chinese takeaways over the years, and this is one of our all time favorites, cant say we've never had a meal from here that has disappointed. Meals have always been spot on 👍🏻👌🏻

Beautiful food! Beef in black is so full of flavour - best we have ever had! Everything is just So lovely! Officially our go to Chinese. Always quality, red hot, on time and very reasonable in price. Won’t order from anywhere else.

Had a set meal for 1 and it wasn't the best tbh all squashed into 2 containers. The chicken in black bean was like eating eating hot chilli's.. it did say it came with a drink bit didn't receive that either

We moved to Chesterfield about 5 years ago and it took a while to find dependable quality takeaways. My daughter recommended Golden Star and since then we've only ordered from them if possible. This evening we ordered a 'small' meal for two, with the full intention of having leftovers for tomorrow. It was quite honestly the nicest Chinese takeaway that we have ever had. The food arrived quickly, piping hot, and cooked to perfection. I am already looking forward totomorrow's supper.

Best Chinese in Chesterfield. Haven't had a bad take away yet. Service is always good.

The positive reviews surprise me because this was hands down the worst Chinese food I've ever eaten and that includes the chow mein I reheated in the microwave two days after purchase that I'd found in the back of the fridge. Bland, dry, overcooked. You know how after a long week you just want a tasty takeaway, this food just honestly made me sad!

First time ordering from here. Food arrived hot and pretty quickly considering they were about to wind down. (Way past 10pm). Spare ribs were amazing. My friend was very satisfied with his beef in black bean sauce. Plenty of meat. My Singapore chow mein also really good. Again, very generous with the meat and veg. Definitely be eating from here again. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is they don't do vermicelli noodles. But thats me being completely selfish. Lol. Enjoy

Food quality: the food was rather dry and felt like it had been under a heat lamp for a large amount of time. Not the best Chinese we've had. Ease of payment: for the exact same food on Justeat from the same place, it would have cost us £6.10 more!!! +£2 delivery. So we went into the shop and ordered in person. Cash only. In shop experience: Staff seemed very nice, and I had my food within 5 minutes of ordering. Overall: rating low due to poor food taste and extortionate online prices.

They accept your order and then leave you waiting 40 mins for it to turn up then cancel it saying there driver doesn’t want to take your delivery. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME

Delicious food yet again and this by far our favourite Chinese take away in by far. Delivery is quick abs friendly and we always over order which leaves more for breakfast the following day.

Rapidly becoming our favourite Chinese take-away. We initially didn’t realise they were open and placed an order with another Chinese restaurant who subsequently rejected the order once they opened. We decided to take our custom elsewhere and while a bit more expansive than the other restaurant the quality of food is much better, delivery quicker and plenty left over for the following day. Would definitely recommend.

Friday munchies and really did not feel like cooking and with meetings tomorrow morning, a curry was out of the picture so the kids unanimously voted for Chinese cuisine. Heading to our favoured food app, it would appear that some other providers that used to deliver to our location no longer do and so we decided to try Golden Star - so pleased that we did! From now on, this will be our number one choice for Chinese food. Noticeably fresher chicken in the chicken balls - the sauce for the lemon chicken came separate to the main dish, but that really worked for us - we could then mix it up with curry sauce, sweet/sour, etc. The spring rolls and prawn crackers were a real hit and my wife - who doesn’t have the largest of appetites - tried everything and cleared four plates of food. Really, really impressed with all aspects. Delightful delivery driver - lovely food - all fully deserving of five stars.

Worst Chinese takeaway ever. Everything arrived luke warm. All the dishes were bland and tasteless with cheap bits of meat and a few chunks of raw vegetables thrown in. Awful.

I have ordered my food on a couple of a occasions. And everytime food and service both have exceeded my expectations. I order the food via app and left a note for the food to be hot and spicy and also I had requested the dish to contain some sauce. Both the requests were taken care of. This is going to be my regular friday night take away.

We've been using this takeaway for several years now - even before Mrs Lam left to go back to China.- and have always found the food excellent. Provided they aren't too busy, the waiting time is perfectly acceptable. (Hint to those criticising the establishment for slowness of delivered meals - they have problems keeping up sometimes exactly because they are so popular.) Particularly worth trying are the curried dishes even if they overdo the onion content at times. Agreed the sweet and sour sauce can be a little tart, but that's a personal preference really. As this takeaway is on Chatsworth Road, parking can be a bit problematic at times but there is on-street parking in Chester Street or across the road, immediately facing. Note, for information, this establishment has a 5 star food hygiene rating.

Looked at a number of positive Reviews on Just Eat , so decided to give it a try. Prompt Service , but the quality of the Food was a real let-down. No fresh Vegetables in the dishes , all of which looked quite similar. Everything was quite bland. Most of the Meal was consequently consigned to the Bin ! I will not be ordering from here again.

What shocking service and food ordered through just eat last night at 7 PM. Food delivery time 20.40 . At 21.10 called the takeaway it's on it way . Marked as delivered on the app . Mmm . To be told 10 mins away. The takeaway is litterly 5 mins from my house . At 21.20 another call to the shop. Its 2 mins away . At21.30 it arrived . When checking the food my daughters meal missing another call to the shop . Terrible. The food was just hot not appetising at all. Don't be using them again

I feel absolutely robbed!! Not happy with quality of the food at all. Spring rolls tasted and smelt off and the set meal I had tasted like plastic. Will NOT be coming here again.

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!! I received my order today of beef chow mein and beef and mushrooms and the beef was pink.. I thought the order came quick after ordering it at nearly 7pm and it arrived at quarter past 7.. It's put me off Chinese completely!!!

With the recent disruption to travel we decided to look closer to home for our Chinese meal and the reviews on other web sites looked good for this take away. We ordered via Just Eat and the food arrived 5 or 10 minutes before the stated time which wasn’t a problem. The food was tasty; batter on the chicken balls was thicker than we are used to, but still very nice. The garlic chilli chicken sauce was lovely, but the dish was full of vegetables which wasn’t stated on the menu anywhere. We would eat here again, but would seek clarification on whether the dish contains vegetables.

I asked on the phone 4 times for a certain dish all they said was yes yes yes and when it came nothing was right the customer service is terrible; the food mediocre

Terrible food shredded chilli chicken dry cold. The worst food I have the misfortune to eat and no didn't finish it. There is a reason they are not on trip advisor!!!
