We have been using this place for many years and really sorry to say I have never tried such salty chips!! In fact my daughter who likes adding salt to her food couldn't eat the chips. The chips actually weren't as tasty either as they have been in years gone by.

PROPER DISAPPOINTED I think the owners must have sold out which is a shame as Dragon City was superb. First warning.... food arrived in these new shallow plastic dishes rather than the deeper tin foil. - Much less food. Second warning.... Chips were not the usual and famous Chinese chips, they were oven chips.... sad. Third warning.... Their historic and famous spare ribs were huge and fell off the bone, now they are mini ribs. Last warning... The special chow mein was watery, one prawn and just ordinary. What a shame... I now have to find another alternative in the Spennymoor area. Such a shame, but did the owners sell out?

Friday night we usually have a bag of chips for a late snack. I called here to give it a try. Chips were cold, hard and only fit for the bin.

Probably the best Chinese food we have ever had! Actually not probably most definitely the best! Special chow main is a must 😊

Fantástica comida para llevar. Comida siempre caliente y fresca. buena relación calidad-precio. Gasta más de 20 € en galletas de gambas... esta es nuestra comida china favorita para llevar en Acomb.

I have been coming here since its opening in the very early 80s. I moved to London in 1986 and whenever I'm home I have to stop by just for the large pancake roll, which BTW is not nearly as big and at £3.40 is not cheap either. I ordered 2 x pancake roll and 1 x salt & chilli ribs, total £14.30. Went to pay with my card and was informed I have to spend £15. I reluctantly looked at the menu but I did not want to spend another £7 on a dish when I wasn't that hungry. I really wanted to walk out but I needed my pancake roll fix, so I agreed to be charged £15 for my £14.30 order... I was then shocked at how expensive it has become, most dishes are over £7 and on par with what I pay in London. I am super pissed off and having been a loyal customer for over 40 years, I don't think I'll be back.

We have been buying take-outs from here from a few years now. Previously the food has been very good and the Oriental Express has been one of our favourites. Unfortunately, the past two occasions have been very disappointing, the food has been tough to eat and overcooked. The prawn crackers were stale. Has there been a change of chef?

The food was so bad we questioned if it was even our order! The egg rice wasn’t best ever, prawn crackers may as well have been last years Christmas crackers they were so stale.crispy seaweed, soggy seaweed more like ☹️. Last time you get my money I’m afraid, we’ll be off to double 8 next time.

Amazing old school flavoured food good portions and hot everything was cooked to perfection the wait time was around 15 minutes and worth the wait the quality of food is good

Really disappointed with our meal as it seemed to have good reviews however the food was bland, there just wasn’t any flavour. No egg in the egg fried rice, the curry was just a thick tasteless gloop and again no flavours at all in the chow mein. Take -out for 2 £39.00!! Get a new chef.

Family birthday take out night. First time we have tried Welcome Peking and certainly weren’t disappointed. Delivery was received in good time by a very nice chap. The food was excellent, very tasty and good portions. Will definitely order again.
