I've seen a few bad reviews on here, but from trying it myself (many times) I must say, this is a super good quality takeaway, The food portions are huge, hot and really really tasty, me and my partner get this every week because we live so close and it's perfect every time! genuinely banging, if you are hungry and want a HUGE tasty meal then 100% hings is the place to go, the inside is also beautiful Chinese decor, and full of plants and pretty, wait time id say its alright, but id wait even longer knowing how good it is

Me and my family always used to go to this chippy when we lived closer and it was always the highlight of our week when went. They have had good/big portions and they were always super friendly, they were also super kind when there was a little wait

Amazing quality, friend that lives extremely close told me about the place and said I need to try it. So after an hour long journey I ordered salt and pepper crispy chicken, a portion of prawn toast and a bag of prawn crackers. And all I can say that is is pungent and delectable. I will be buying from here in the future and recommend that others do too!

Called in for chip and curry barm, now I write the odd review or two so I have no joy in saying this. Wife and me fancied a mid evening snack so visited here for the first time and I will add the last time, why = dingy, tacky, why choose here, I here you say well this was the only chip shop open! and the food was so poor we took it home for our 2 dogs. Places like this should be shut down we are in 2021 not the 70s, I’m sure dominoes would do well on bolton road as well as a dam good chippy not the dross you see on bolton road darwen!

After being told 30-45 mins on the phone, we turned up at 50 mins to ensure Hings had plenty of time to prepare the order, yet on arrival were told the food would still be at least another 15 minutes. Upon asking, the manager blamed the 13 year-old boy on the till, rather than taking any responsibility. We asked for something to soften the blow of a delayed tea but were only given prawn crackers (a formality in most takeaways). We got home to find that our wings were missing and asked for them to be delivered - we were told 5 minutes (assuming they were ready but had just been missed), but they instead took 25. Big portions don't outweigh a long wait, poor staff communication, and a 6/10 meal. Thankfully, the salt and pepper chips weren't too bad, but not enough to save our tea.

I can remember when this Chinese Take Away was a restaurant. It is family-run and their income. We live locally and in 5 years we have only ever had a few disappointments from Hings, which were nothing major. The ribs are outstanding and huge. The beef in blackbean sauce with green peppers is a personal favourite. The shared starters are fabulous. Hings can not be faulted for their Chinese/Cantonese dishes. My dad swears by their Fish and Chips too. He reckons it to be as good as Chows on Blackburn Road, Bolton!

Always friendly, service is not slow. Chips can be a little dark for my liking but generally good food at reasonable prices!

Hoping the wait time had improved following feedback we ordered a take away Sunday 5pm. Told 30 minutes, result!!! Rang hubby at 5:45 to see where he was... they hadn’t even started our order!!! BUT had taken our money so we couldn’t simply walk out. Sadly that’s it for us. Anyone know a good Chinese take away in Darwen that delivers on time and doesn’t give false timescales time after time, after time?????

We stopped off here after driving back to the NW from a trip to Scotland. It was a last minute decision and will not be repeated. The chip shop was below average and felt scruffy inside. The food was not cooked well and whilst it may not have been operating at full steam due to it being Christmas time this is no excuse.

Even when pre ordering its a long wait for your food. Food very reasonable but 20 mins means waiting at least an hour, so unfortunately I have taken my business elsewhere.

We’ve had some lovely food, BUT if you opt for home delivery beware!! 40 minutes Hing time is 150 minutes GMT. Please just be honest and if it’s going to take hours, give your customers the truth so they can choose to go elsewhere, particularly when they are pushed for time.
