This was my first time ordering here and unfortunately will be the last. Ordered the bbq ribs for starter and there was no flavour just bland. The mains- meats were a slimy texture, chips were soggy, and again minimal flavour. If the taste was as good as the portion sizes this would be a belting place. Really disappointed.

Great takeaway. Always delicious, reasonably priced. They don't deliver though, but it's only up the road and it means it's always nice and hot! Cash only!

I’m quite sad to write this review but what was said to my family was unforgivable. We ordered a takeaway which arrived an hour later than it should. We could actually see the driver going to deliveries all around where we lived but not coming to us. When ut arrived I opened the bag of prawn crackers and commented to my family that they were rock hard. I put some of the fried rice onto my plate as did my daughter with her sweet and sour. It was freezing cold, we checked the ribs and chips they were the same. The only thing with any heat was the sausage which was for the dog. I had to use my daughters phone to ring and tell them, they offered to replace it and I agreed. But after waiting a while I rang back and said we will just have a refund and we will pack up the food to return it. The driver came didn’t have change so we were 80p down and he took the food. About three quarters of an hour later my daughter said someone had tried to ring her phone, please remember this is my daughter. The voicemail basically said”hi love this is Angie, for the people who ordered the takeaway you are a crowd of f******* scumbags, sending back half eaten food (how else were we to know it was cold if we hadn’t tried it?) don’t f****** come to my shop again, you f****** lowlifes, the sausage you returned was warm” As you can imagine I was stunned. I am not a f****** scumbag or lowlife. I am a hard working person who, due to the cost of living squeeze, has a limited amount free cash and I chose to treat my family with the spare that I have. The 32 pounds I spent on that takeaway is fours work and I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a certain standard of warm food and good customer service. If it had been that we would never have complained, if you had received what we received that night in a restaurant they would have listened and been courteous. I can’t imagine and restaurant owner calling you a f****** scumbag/lowlife for giving them money and expecting good service. Angie will be glad to know we won’t be returning.

Weekend Delivery driver is a legend

First time ordered here, Angie is super nice and helpful. Tried salt & pepper chicken wings, quite juicy and hot enough, gifted prawn crackers is in big portion. Highly recommended, will definitely come again.

Stale prawn crackers and quite dry food

Been getting lee’s for awhile and when I get the same thing all the time and then they change price 3 times, robbed me twice and the order I just got come with 1 less can than I ordered and then ang the owner basically calls me a liar down the phone saying she “ definitely put 2 cans in the bag” then calls me back saying the driver also said there was 2 cans in the bag, obviously she’s going to agree with you. Ang you got kind of aggressive towards me on the phone telling me “ if I don’t like it don’t come back” I hope you don’t treat all your customers like that. Don’t worry I won’t be coming back and I’ll take a few of your customers with me. Absolutely disgusting!!! Half hour later I get my can and an apology so turns out I was right as are ALL CUSTOMERS!!

Always rated Lee's, staff are fantastic and generally food is good and good value for money. Whenever we have fancied a chippy tea or a chow mein & a fried rice dish, we have always come here, never left disappointed. However been again tonight after a couple of months since our last visit (we may not be an every week regular but have been ordering since we moved to darwen in 2010) and it was just a greasy mess! Fish just dripping with grease under the batter, chips a soggy greasy mess. Other half ordered same but with curry sauce, and they forgot to add the sauce. Kids meals were pretty much the same, though the dab wasn't greasy and was spot on! We pretty much just thrown the food out with the exception of the dab and have made sandwiches for tea. I do hope it was just a bad night and this isn't something that will continue as we look forward to a treat of a take out and I would hate for our favourite place to have to change, as there aren't many decent chippies nor Chinese takeaways in darwen.

Ordered our first takeaway tonight from Lee’s Cantonese. Really impressed with the food, ordered a few different starters and crispy chill beef and chicken satay for main, couldn’t fault the food, staff were nice and friendly too. Would recommend!

S & P chips, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Special fried rice, Salt & Pepper chicken… I’ve struggled to find a Chinese anywhere in the area that can make the entirety of my order the way I like it until I stumbled across Lees Cantonese. Foods great, really friendly, reasonably priced and even offer gluten free options which is a god send for my partner. This is now our go to, highly recommend.

Tastiest food and massive portions, class

Don't like the takeaway. The food isn't nice. But the only reason I'm rating 2 is because of the prome crackers. And some food smells bad

Food is lovely, however the customer service when I have called due to a missing item has been an absolute abomination. Order was placed at 5pm and delivered 40 minutes later. However, then an item was missing and they advised they would send it up. Called back an hour later to be told that they will send it back up when they have the chance as they are mega busy. They persisted to put the phone down on me. I understand that they are busy, but they weren’t to busy to take my money and tip.

It wasnt a complete waste of money but i wouldn't go again. I had beef in satay sauce but the texture of beef was awful and gooey. The ribs also didn't taste of anything. The salt and pepper chicken was good though and yhe noodles. All the staff were lovely too. Prices have gone up from what you find on Google

Always friendly service. Offers suggestions if you’re not sure what to have. The best chips, never reheated, always tasty. Reasonable prices but takes cash only. Also offers delivery.

Quantity and service is still there , but food was a little bland unfortunately, hopefully just a glitch as they were quite busy , will try again soon though as they have always been a good go to Chinese establishment in the past .

Just nipped in for chippy tea. Good portions, definitely not small, rich gravy lovely chips. I would recommend. We need to try the chinese dishes next for sure :)

Been here a few times now got back with what ever ordered and its been wrong on a few occasions. Today 24 /7/21 ordered boiled rice got home got egg fried rice asksd for can of coke ended up with tango need to listen what people are ordering would mind the write it down. Every time ive been its been wrong . Other than that good chippy just need to listen what people are ordering otherwise would of given a 5 star 👍

Not had Lees in a while so thought we'd give it a try, and we won't be going back, very disappointed with the wings, they looked burned and the onions I thought were from a burger van all brown and soft, food not like it used to be so I won't be going back

"A succulent Chinese meal" The first good one I've had in Darwen. Definitely recommend the soft noodles and the veg spring rolls. Good amount of duck in the meal too, a little overcooked but tasted good

Spot on food, good portions, value for money

Less than 1 star ordered food that took over 1 and half hrs when I phoned was told they where to busy so I can cancelled my order I think they need to hire more drivers that are out of work ..

Have been a customer here for over 20 years. I'm Coeliac and Angie has helped me identify what is safe to eat from the menu.

Very disappointed. Spent over £25 just to throw the food away. The food tasted old and smelled off. I couldn't eat it. Won't be ordering from here again. Waste of money!

Good tasty food. Although i dont think meat spring rolls and veg spring rolls should be cooked in same oil as this makes them unsuitable for vegetarians despite being told it's fine because there is only the tiniest bit of meat in them so it doesn't really matter!! I beg to differ

Have started using this place when my other Chinese takeaway was closed for the day. The food is very good, reasonably priced and is freshly prepared when you order. Delivery is available. The staff are always polite and having used this place about 6 times would recommend it.

Top quality Cantonese food mmmmm!

Me and my partner used to really enjoy the chips from here but have to say they are dreadful a lot of the chips were hollow inside like they have been refried this has happened on a number of occasions so we have decided never to eat there again, food just isn’t up to standard

I have not tried the Cantonese menu, although I hear good comments from my family who have tried it. The English Chippy food is average at best. Always very bland and tasteless. The fish is always good quality and it's apparent that care is taken to prepare it. A little work on the other english dishes would go a long way to improving this local take out.

Recently introduced to Lees by a friend. Nothing to fault! Staff are really nice. Service is fast. Top ingredients and cooked healthily. None of the colourless and flavourless fried rice so often found in takeaways now! Quantity for price us amazing and no need to keep a glass of water close by to couhteract the salt. Will definitely continue using.

We ordered a takeaway for our family tea it took over an hour to arrive. We were charged delivery even thou we lived less than the 3 miles drew deliver. And most of the meal ended up in the rubbish bin. We will never eat here again

After giving up on Chinese take away In Darwen because of poor service, poor quality food, warm ups etc, for some reason we decided to try our nearest one and we are so glad we did. Now had three take aways, all have been excellent. Fantastic service, deliver on time, piping hot on delivery, great value. The only Chinese I would recommend in Darwen.

Not been here for sometime and to be honest only patronised it because another chippy was closed. Food was excellent and plentiful and the prices were nice and reasonable. Now full and glad we went there!

Tried various take away dishes and they have all been acceptable

Been coming here for years now and never had a problem. But over the past 5 months the place has just seemed to drop down hill. I've found hair in my food, they have got my order wrong near enough every time now. Meaning having Togo back to get it changed. Plus the quality of food just isn't what it was anymore. We have stuck to this place to see if it was just a bad period , but just getting worse every time. Unfortunately as much as we use to love it we have had to find somewhere else now.

Absolutely excellent in every aspect. Rang for delivery, answered promptly and politely, food promised within 20-30 mins, arrived in 20, very amiable delivery driver armed with correct change. Food to it's usual fabulous standard, piping hot and delicious. Very good value for money, would recommend.

Had the prawns in garlic and chilli. Very bland. Like gravy with a chopped chilli and then bulked out with capsicum and onions. Prawns were overdone and chewy. My wife's order was less impressive, her chips were rank.

The worst Chinese in Darwen. The worst chicken curry I've ever had its more like a onion curry with very little chicken also we waited long time even though we pre ordered on the phone.

Used to be really good however has recently gone down hill a lot, food is greasy and over priced, staff really need training as they are not to the standard you would expect for the prices paid, it is not uncommon to wait 30 minutes for what they say will be a 10 Minute order.

Lovely, friendly staff and very quick service. Cheaper prices than we are used to in Cheshire and better portions of meat. Chips are great too. So far tried chicken foo young, chicken schezwan, char Sui mushrooms and their friend rice. All fabulous and very tasty. Needs no seasoning or soy sauce. Well worth a visit.

Our experience last weekend was the icing on the cake - food was good BUT the fish (although cooked) was wet... and not at all appetising...

I have tried lots of Chinese and Cantonese Takeaways and this is the best. There Hot and Sour Soup is delicious and you must try the Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings they are to die for. There isn't anything that I have disliked, plus they do English Chip Shop food too.

This is definitely the best chippy and Chinese in Darwen. Staff are really friendly and prices are reasonable. Good selection of food and delivery charge is reasonable
