The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

We have ordered from star moon Widnes for the last 4 years and never ever had an issue…… tonight we orders 2.5 hours ago wrong order delivered after 1 hour called to explain and was told would be here in the next 10 minutes. 55 minutes later stilll not here rang and asked for a refund to be told….. the driver was new and they were so sorry . I asked for a refund and was told “I don’t know what I can do as you have the food.” But…. We do not have the food we are still missing 2 fish chips and mushy peas and a large chips. Totalling 18 pound. Would always have recommended here but after tonight never again x

I’m sorry to say that over the last year or so the food has gone down hill. It used to be really nice but then something changed and the fried rice tasted bland and the food was over cooked. The final straw was when I found a hair in my chilli shredded beef, it just put me right off. I called them to complain and I asked if they wear hair nets in the kitchen and they said no and said sorry and thanks for letting them know. That was it! Sad to say we won’t be eating there again until it gets better.

Collection area a bit grim, but food was very good.

Called here for tea tonight plain chow mein tasted like someone had added fag ash to it and egg fried rice was clarty and tasteless curry sauce acceptable as was the salt n pepper chicken Won’t be going again

Absolutely disgusting smell of mould this place needs closing down immediately 0 rating avoid £35 throw in the bin. Never seen a beef curry 🤮

The last time we were here was back in October 2023. Food was an acceptable standard. One dish we ordered was Beef HoFun. Unfortunately, rehydrated HoFun was used, which wasn't an issue. But on this occasion, the HoFun wasnt properly rehydrated, as a result, it was soft on the outside and hard on inside, like under cooked rice. Every eatery deserves a chance so we thought it was just an oversight. We visited again today for lunch. Big disappointment is an understatement. Food was of very poor standard. Egg tarts appeared to be from yesterday's (Chinese New Year) shift.. Oil used to deep fry the dim sum dishes we ordered definitely was old/tainted oil, which had been used to fry lobster/prawns. The roast pork belly again was most likely from yesterday's shift. The rice texture gave me the feeling it was microwave reheated. Certain steamed dim sum had the appearance/taste of frozen ready made fare from Chinese supermarkets. The service was poor and attention to detail was non existent. A waiter brought back a refilled teapot. Spilled an amount on the table and walked off. Leaving us to deal with the mess. Not a big deal, but to not acknowledge the accident wasn't very professional. Overall, it was a poor show at best. Waiting staff definitely need training, as for the food, I can only say that they need to raise their game.

Best in the area. Great portion sizes. Originally started to use the Welcome Inn when we found out the previous owners of the Evergreen at Fram were here, they have since retired but the food is still great. Recommended

Best Chinese takeout round here and I live local the food is never disappointing and the service always comes with a smile so just give it go even if your visiting

Golden Sun has been good to our family for over 2 Decades!! The food has always been amazing, definitely a hidden gem. If you’re in Manchester and fancy a Chinese, this place is the one. If you call in advance, there are never any wait times like the other reviews mention..

Poor food. My husband and I ordered a duck and chicken chow mein as main dish and only a minute amount of chicken/duck in each. However, not the chief concen colour of cow main was dark red/black so amount of dye in soy sauce excessive. Never in my life have I had a chow main that colour before I felt sick to the stomach. 2nd dish salt and pepper & chilli prawns. Enough chilli to make u run to the cold water tap. I have ordered these from other venues and never with this outcome. Obviously novice chef just sprinkling loads of chilli over top ad lib!!! 3rd dish ribs - ver good thank goodness as I would have starved!!

Absolutely fabulous takeaway. Everything cooked to perfection with fresh vegetables and good meat and seafood. Thank you

Sopa decente. Esperaba más sabor. Quería una sopa picante y no era tan picante como se esperaba. El sabor estaba bien, pero también quería algo más auténtico. No pasa nada. Hice el truco pero de nuevo, un poco decepcionante. Lo intentaré de nuevo con un plato diferente antes de que haga la última palabra.

This has been the best Chinese in Exeter consistently for many years. Not only is the food always great but so are the delivery times, service and prices. They always make the effort to tell you how long the delivery will be and it is always shorter. Crispy chili beef is the best.
