Lotus Tang in Charnwood

Collection area a bit grim, but food was very good.

Waiting for food is a pretty poor experience. The waiting area is sealed off to a tiny area with the rest being an unsightly storage area for boxes. Unheated, damp and musty. I am hopeful the kitchens are better maintained. Food is nice, but portion sizes have reduced, sadly.

Well done, lovely meal , really enjoyed it , got to say personally best chinese ever I've had in along time.

Super tasty, big portions, cheap, and fast!

Disgusting. The meat was either cold or soggy. Chicken looked and tasted like brains. Only thing edible was the prawn crackers.

Missed off one meal from our order and would not send it out, saying they wanted the whole meal back despite most of it being dished up and started to be eaten. Argued that we didnt order it, yet our order was written down and ticked off at the point or order plus the cost talied. Instead of giving good service was told would be blocked! UMMMMM good wont use you again anyway! Food is not great anyway.

We've just had a big order which most part of it was amazing. However all four beef curries had no beef inside. In order to resolve this matter I contacted the company. As a result I am disgusted how the matter was treated, the person on the phone would not listen, which lead to them putting the phone down. Considering this was an order of £80 and I personally complimented them for how lovely most of the meal was, I am disgusted by the customer service

Very tasty and perfectly cooked - nice soft broccoli. I will eat from here again.

Lotus tang is one of the little hidden chineses in Loughborough never have I been there before and we ordered sesame prawn toast egg fried rice chicken balls with curry sauce and lotus tang house special chow mein and some crispy seaweed the food it was absolutely amazing and if anybody gets the chance to eat here I would highly recommend it 5-stars

They have two menus and the one I ordered from is written in Chinese without English translation. It sounds a bit bizarre, but many dishes on it are actually really spicy and they might cause troubles with European customers who are not used to spicy food. (Ps: people in my hometown eat chilli as snacks and sides). A standard takeaway looking place with a few seating spaces. Dishes do not look very attempting, but taste pretty authentic. They have chef's recommendation written on a blackboard and just pick up your choices there if you don't know what to order.

I am a Chinese so i ordered from the other menu. and honestly quite like food back home. was very nice. But that might not be suitable for British if they like the English-Chinese food.

I came here to pick up a takeaway with a friend. He and his misses like the food from here. Me and my wife found it bland bland bland. One of our dishes was squid in Chili salts so we don’t go for bland boring dishes. It just tasted like nothing. A slice of Warburtons thick white bread has more taste. I did however notice that there are two different menus in there. Maybe our friend ordered from the bland tasteless menu. Maybe the other menu is really nice. I’ll stick to my regular place. If you do decide to go though ask for the other menu. When sat waiting I noticed there were a few Oriental people eating in there which gave me such high hopes for it to be amazing. Again, makes me think that other menu may be quite good. Or they just serve nice food to their friends and family.

ordered 3 special chow mein all came with rice not noodles and meat over cooked.phoned and complained they offered me a free replacement next order and true to word excellent.

After walking past this place many times, finally decided to give it a try. Very disappointed with the quality of the food. Will not be going again.

Have been ordering from here very frequently for a couple of years and never had a bad meal. Sometimes the delivery takes a bit long but this is brought up when ordering and is therefore not a problem. Staff are always friendly over the phone and when in the take-away its self.

Shocking, heard so many good reports so thought we'd give it a try. We waited an hour & 40 mins, apparently there was an argument in the kitchen! Chicken balls were very nice but everything else was very very disappointing. Won't bother again!

Never had a bad meal from here, food always arrives promptly and hot, definitely recommend the veg chow mein and the Chinese chicken curry!

Waited near on two hours for a delivery of two barely warm chow main dishes. The vegetarian chow main contained a few carrots, one piece of broccoli and one mange tout. To go with this we had a portion of very overcooked cold chips. Very disappointed!
