The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Chinese food

I am really quite disappointed by standards of the mandarin, went in and ordered two pots of satay sauce… waiting area filthy no one there to take an order for a start. Overall condition of the building is poor, rubbish flowing out of bins and mess everywhere in the car park. When I got home I pulled out a lovey hair out of my satay sauce short and black which couldn’t of possibly been mine as I don’t have black hair… explains the 1 star food hygiene rating on both of there surprise EHO visits, in most recent years. also explains why they are really quick to shut the kitchen door and ensure it’s kept shut at all times, I’ve even heard one of the chefs shout once to shut the door. Really disappointed and will go else where from now on you guys have really let your standards slip… sad really maybe it should be turned back into a pub.

We were so disappointed with our celebratory meal from the Mayflower House. We have had lovely food in the past from them, but today the food was not good. The crispy duck was very dry, not crispy. The fish was inedible,the rice, substandard and the chow mein not as usual. We phoned and told them very politely and they were just not interested. A waste of hard earned money, so much food in the bin.

After 25yrs of no complaints watsoever, the quality of food has gone downhill lately. Cantonese beef is nothing like it used to be, wrong colour, yellow instead of brown and with an overpowering curry flavour. Not even a hint of a Cantonese dish. Unfortunately, we have had issues with the standard of food consistently of late We will be rather reluctant to use New Wing Lee in future.

Hit the spot every time. Also like the chicken curry aswel with fried noodles. The chips are bad but there like that in every chinese takeaway in UK, curry sauce is very good.

Beautiful yung chow fried rice with succulent prawns, char Sui pork and perfectly velveted chicken. Portion size is amazing too.

My regular for a long long time,, usually love the food, but friday 13th September 2024, phoned up as usual for an order special fried rice etc, and the special fried rice came with TWO large black hairs, as now put me off these completely, they could do with wearing a hairnet.

New tong fung Redhill. Iv reviewed this place before. And had a few negative comments to make on the level of service we received. Happy to say this is no longer the case. The Chap that severed us was very polite and chatty. Really nice guy. Food was excellent, as per usual. Great Chinese food with no complaints to make. Value for money was exceptional. 4 off us had sharing platter to start, then 1/2 duck and pancakes to share and then all had a large main dish, plus beer and wine. £130 total. Great value at £30 ish per head. My 4 star overall review is broken down by, 5 star food, 5 star service. But only 2 start for the atmosphere. The restaurant seems to be set up primarily as a takeaway as we were the only people eating in that night. Not much care taken to create a restaurant vibe. Seems like they don’t often have people eat in. No music ect. But a good experience overall, just needs a lick off paint and some more attention to the dinning in side offf things. But can’t fault the food, and that’s the main reason to eat out. Had a great evening.
