Jade House in Birmingham

Only gave 1 star as couldn't do any less. I Was looking forward to jade house re-opening. It appears operating under two names jade house 335 and four seasons donya. ALL I CAN SAY IS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Ordered on line advised 30 - 40 minutes which is fine. But no 2 hr delivery, 3 phone calls asking where delivery was in total 30 calls if you count engaged tone. Told extremely busy, sorry no excuse you take order and you deliver on time. Well food finally arrived but it was cold and spring rolls well think they were made 2 hrs earlier.

Useless. No delivery after 2 hours ordering online and how can you cancel an online order on the phone if you can't get through? A lost customer.

After previously saying I wouldn't be attending this newly refurbished takeaway and menu, after they'd removed the only vegan tofu dish. I was delighted to see that they'd added it back to their menu and the food is just as delicious 😋 Also really happy that they've replaced most of the awful plastic containers, with more eco friendly ones. Well done Four seasons and thank you. Your customer of 20 years has now come back 👏🏽

Chicken katsu curry with boiled rice plus the salt and pepper wings are amazing, massive portions and great fresh flavours. Also very fast delivery just 25mins wait.

I went because I wanted to eat Japanese donburi. However, it seemed to be arranged slightly differently from the donburi I was familiar with. It was disappointing that the steamed vegetables were included, the meat was sticking, and the sauce was slightly different from what I was used to... Still, the people taking my order were friendly.

Brilliant new addition to the area! Fantastic value for money, the bowls are absolutely delicious. Tried the stir fried noodles and some bibimbaps. Very generous portion sizes and a good range on the menu, too.

This is a review for Four Seasons Donya. Only been open three days. Katsu curry was OK but fried rice was precooked and not heated thoroughly. Kimchi was crunchy and spicy. Whilst I was waiting 11 people came in in three groups but left without ordering. They were expecting Jade House Chinese food. Won’t be going back as it’s too expensive.

Ordered a fair bit from them last year when I moved to Birmingham. Unfortunately what I ordered last night was nothing but disappointing My Singapore noodles tasted spoilt. I rang them up and they were kind enough to send out a replacement however it just wasn’t nice. It had way too much curry and was a little bit too soft. Also ordered crispy beef. It just didn’t hit. Afraid to say this has put me off ordering again but I hope they do better cause they had decent food last year and they seem to be good people

Food was horrible, spare ribs bearly count as ribs some big blocks of gristle and cartlidge and the satay chicken skewers were frozen (not made in house) and drowned in some mystery sauce not the classic peanut/satay sauce you would expect.

I normally always order from jade house but today was very disappointing, the duck was super dry and the wings were super dry aswell normally very god but very upset about today as spent quite abit and the curry sauce was clumpy.

Food was very nice but doesn't take card payments. Why? Its 2023. If they took card payments I would go again and often. Shame

I ordered from This place for the first time and I was really impressed with their service, food quality and my overall experience. The portion size was amazing, I had plenty of extra meat like I asked for, food arrived pipping hot and I’d definitely recommend them

I've ordered takeaway from Jade House before and it was lovely. Not sure what went wrong this time though. The prawn toast was very over cooked, as were the spring rolls. They were too long in the fryer and tasted burnt. The second mouthful of the spring roll was dreadful as though a teaspoon of salt hadn't been mixed in properly. Literally had to spit it out, pure salt. It's a shame as the food on other occasions has been gorgeous. Is it a new chef? Under new management? No idea but was disappointed this time round. The chow mein, sweet & sour chicken and rice were very nice.

Had been using jade house for over 10 years. Food was really nice at the start but recently has gone hill in all aspect’s. Husband rang them today to place order and the person who answered phone was extremely rude,so ordered from somewhere else. Will never order from there again.

Ordered from this takeaway many times over the years, food is tasty but chips could be better.

If I could give 6 stars then I would ! I'm really fussy about my food and have never felt the need to leave a review before because I just expect it to be good. My absolute favorite regular takeaway item is ' Pork Yuk Sung' and since my local takeaway closed I have been to dozens of places to order this item but it's always been disappointing. I'll not be trying to find another takeaway from now on. The service from the lady who works there makes you walk out with a smile no matter how bad your day has gone and the food is honestly amazing. I can truly say that I have never enjoyed Yuk Sung so much in my 30+ years of ordering this item. It's on another level. Really well done Jade House - I've just popped in for the 3rd time in 5 days to order some to make tortilla wraps for lunch at work. Great Service - Great Food !

Had an order from here not so long ago. The curry was excellent and with just the right amount of spice. They’ve got a website now as well!

Dark sauce instead of white, in the ginger & spring onion dish that was really salty. The noodles where very dry and they forgot my chips, what do I do you mu curry sauce now? Think we're looking for a new place to order from now on.

This is our local Chinese and very happy it is. Always friendly, food is always good and the prices have remained very reasonable because they operate independently. Never go to any other Chinese!

Had a takeaway from there last night, Hong Kong special absolutely disgusting. Sorry people who rate this menu ant got no taste buds, eat anything. Full of raw onions prawns shot in no salt. Never again.

Tasty food with reasonable price

The workers here are SOOOOOO rude! I was trying to place an order and the person on the phone hung up and said we don’t take orders since he couldn’t understand what I was saying! I normally don’t leave reviews but I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully by a service before!

Aromatic duck had a half shredded bone in it. Food was horrible and chips were clearly recooked from the day before. Not good at all.

Food was ok, ordered a Thai curry and it wasn’t a proper Thai curry, but just a mix up Chinese and sweetened version ( not good though) soup was good, rice could have been better. Young Chinese bloke taking orders not friendly.

Absolute gem. Food was very delicious, portios were massive and waiting time was very, very reasonable. Prices are also great for what you're getting in terms of quality and quantity.

The food is always great, warm and tasteful contrast to the golden castle which is next door

The chow mein and tofu dish was really nice! The chips was also good. It is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. My stomach felt fine afterwards which is a huge plus as I usually get stomach aches after chinese takeaways.

Only had egg fried rice with separate sweet and sour sauce which I have from many different Asian takeaways. Here, it was wrapped very well for transport, didn’t leak at all and was still fresh when I got home. Tasty, fresh and the sweet and sour sauce was gooey and not glumpy. Empty when I entered the shop but someone came out from the back within seconds. Excellent customer service and as I made a phone order to collect it, was hot and ready within seconds of returning from the back. Gave me a free strong carrier bag, prices were reasonable for what I ordered and decor was traditional but very clean. Couple of seats to wait and I was able to pull straight onto the forecourt outside to park. May be bit difficult to access in busier traffic periods as it’s just off the roundabout past the QE hospital and the other sides roundabout is the busy Selly Oak new shopping centre and a 24 hour shell petrol station a few hundred yards away. But was quiet as a nut when I went around 9pm on a weekday. The shop is towards the end of a terrace row of shops but stands out due to lighting so very easy to spot. Directions guide you straight to the door as some routes are not accurate but here was. I think may be busy on Friday or Saturday nights and possible more so as very studenty area. I haven’t tasted anything else off the menu. That’s for you guys to review!

We have been going here for several years to get our takeaways. I have sometimes tried another Chinese and not found a better one at this price. They are quick to prepare the food and will deliver if you are close by. Our favourite dishes are the crispy duck, the crispy fried beef in chilli sauce, the lemon chicken. It is cash only.

The dry chicken wings are good on occasion (i.e., some days it's fresh and good, but other days it's clearly reheated). Nonetheless, it's cheap and decent. Keep in mind it’s cash only.

We've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed the food but recently it's been quite greasy (the chicken balls) and overcooked (prawn toast). The noodles are good though and the portion size is always generous

Only popped in for some chips and prawns toast, price was good and it was prepared quickly with very little waiting around. Have ordered extra dishes in the past and they have been good as well.

This used to be one of the best in brum no idea what's happend but food has gone rubbish.

Ordered meals was told it was £17 even with the delivery charge it only came to £15.30 when querying this with staff stating that the menu online does not depict this was then told menu changed last year and they do not know who put this menu up complete lie this company beware they rely on you not querying the amount whilst they add the odd pound here and pound there will NEVER order again disgusting way of treating customers

Orden incorrecto. Horrible servicio al cliente. ¡En un turno de noche esperando una orden oportuna y efectiva en un pequeño pedido y ni siquiera podía hacer eso bien! Asqueroso. ¡El teléfono devuelve el pedido para decir que faltan partes y se lo acusa de estar equivocado a pesar de que habíamos pagado ese pedido! ! Evitar a toda costa. ¡Nos dijeron que estábamos mintiendo y no añadimos comida a la orden y nuestra culpa, aunque definitivamente se mencionó! No se usará de nuevo. Más preocupados de que hayan terminado el trabajo y no regresen. También evite mirar el menú en línea. Claramente no se ha actualizado y engañando a los clientes de los precios reales.

Great service food is always of high quality and delivery service is quick and efficient, having struggled to find a good local Chinese takeaway I'm glad I tried this one on a recommendation from a family member, I would not use anywhere else now and would highly recommend

Food good, not greasy. Rare but the chips typical Chinese dry but are salted, something normally I don't eat often, I'll make an exception for these.

Great food but the Indian delivery guy is a div and argues with customers

I am a regular customer at Jade house and I really love the food. The waiting times are only 10-15 minutes which is perfect. I am sure will be coming here for more and more years to come and I really enjoy it.

Favourite chinese around. Regularly visit over number of years. Hong Kong sweet and sour chicken recommended. When order as a couple get a free gift (if total order over around £12). Beef curry worth having. This is a take away, I go for collection. You can wait and there is some parking.

Fantastic food! Ribs are the meatiest ive had at any takeout or restaurant. They also deliver which is handy :-)

Ordered at about 7:30, food finally came an hour and 15 minutes later. They left one of my flatmates' orders at home (although they gave us the money back) - she was left without a dinner because they "couldn't be asked" to go back and return. It was cold food that were sub-standard, I got a fairly big meal for £7 but it was a disappointment and it's a massive shame. Will not be purchasing from them again and want to make a complaint.

The food is good but when you have it delivered it all goes wrong. Placed order at 5 pm was advised would be 45 minutes, food had not arrived by 6.10 pm phoned and was told would be another 10 minutes, the food finally arrived at 6.30 by which time it was cold and as you cannot re-heat chicken or rice the food was returned to the take away, so beware

When I want Chinese and I want it delivered, Jade House is the place to call. Extensive menu, tasty food and an excellent delivery service - can't go wrong!

I have been using this place for a few years very good, friendly and order is always accurate.

Every time my family comes to visit they want jade house as first meal.everyone loves their big pancake rolls, really nice Singapore noodles and house special chow mein, honey ribs and beef with vegetables. You also get complimentary snack when you spend over £12 and We choose chicken wings.and Also it's nice they recognise your number and Adress when you call them As sometimes it's hard to understand Chinese accent of person taking order.

Food is probably one of the best Chinese around, good portion sizes and taste. But sometimes if your order to home you could be waiting a tad longer than expected would definitely say that it is worth the wait!

I went to order and collect a Saturday night takeaway. I placed my order and the woman confirmed it back to me. I then went to the drinks shop next door and then returned to the take away and sat down. Several other customers came in placed their order and left with their food whilst I waited. The woman behind the counter noticed I had been waiting and asked me what I had ordered so I told her again and she went away into the kitchen. About 5 minuets later the woman gave me my order and apologised for the delay. I checked the food in the bag and it was wrong. I confirmed my order for the fourth time and was then told it was and extra 10p! Finally after over half an hour after paying for my food I actually received my order. The food was decidedly average. I shall not be returning. Not recommended

There is nothing to be faulted with their food at Jade House. Their deep fried duck dishes in particlar are very good.A good thing to know is that when you spend £12 you get to choose a free gift from prawn crackers, chicken wings and prawn toast. The wings win each and everytime.
