Absolutely disgusting food. Chicken Chow Mein was Chicken over soggy noodles. Special Fried Rice was meat on rice. Nothing mixed in to make it a proper dish. Lazy Chef! Front of house wasn't appealing either. The person at the counter was perished with the cold. Never getting my custom again. I've seen better food given to dogs... It's a shame really because I used this place years ago and the food was excellent. I could do better with a stir fry pan and an air fryer. Close this place down ASAP...

The best Chinese in the area without a doubt, ingredients are top notch and food is always fresh and so tasty the whole family enjoy our meal. Can't be beaten. Staff are polient and profession. Wouldn't go anywhere else

Excellent service , quick delivery , food piping hot and plentiful and tasted good . Very happy will be back . I was confused at first as I wasn’t sure we had correct delivery , but was pleasantly surprised with what the containers had . Than-you , vegetables were nice and crunchy rice at the bottom special fried was a pleasant surprise will be back thankyou ..

This was my first time using this takeaway and I was blown away with high standards of cuisine. It reminded me of the Chinese food of 70's and 80's takeaways. I loved the chicken curry and the prawn crackers were wafer thin not thick as you get a most takeaways these days. Well done to the owner/chef. My only disappointment is that this takeaway is closed on a Monday.

Very dissapointing, Chicken Chow Mien was tasteless. As per other recent review I suspect that it may have contained a lot of MSG as I was very thirsty afterwards.

Bought king prawn chow mien. It was awful! Tasteless. I felt so thirsty after eating it. I drank almost 2 litres of water as a result!! Must be too much MSG!! Won't be buying from here again!!

Lovely food, pipping hot, excellent flavours and tastes.

The loveliest pancake roll I have had anywhere else and the hot and sour soup is fabulous. My new go to place in Havant.

Everything was weird... There was some random series blaring on the TV. The lady taking the order didn't even smile. The food was terrible... there is a sign on the glass door, with a phone number,stating that they deliver, when my husband queried the lady responded with... "We dont deliver, thats been there since Covid"... WHAT!!!??First and last trip there... thats for sure!

Great food, when you are given what you have ordered. The problem is, too many times, what you've ordered is not what you actually get, which is a shame and the only let down for me besides not delivering

This takeaway is absolutely diabolical the customer service is absolutely disgusting I placed an order and they expected me to wait two hours for a delivery when I call them to cancel the delivery because two hours was not acceptable some disgusting woman called Kym put the phone down on me and was extremely rude stay away from this Chinese the food is absolutely disgusting

I have been using the Chinese food Centre for the best part of 50 years,but today is the last time. I am so disappointed, standards have been going down hill for a long time, but tonight's meal was awful, bland, cold, no meat or prawns to talk of. I won't be back.

The food is amazing, But customer service really needs help. When asking for Tofu it was a big deal to call it ' Beancurb' instead (Everywhere else in the world calls it just Tofu). We stoped eventually going there as we felt mistread and corrected by the lady behind the counter, even ignored at some points as she seemed more ocupied chatting some other customer.

The takeaway we had was awful, pancake roll was dripping in fat tiny piece of chicken, chow main was tastless with plenty of oil ,

I feel so sorry posting this but I had Chinese style sweet and sour and I couldn't find chicken! It was just batter and it had a strong aniseed type taste. Went in the bin sadly. First time I've had a bad meal from here but really awful.

Would not use any other Chinese...been using this one for years food is always amazing...

Was just awful, beef chow mein made me gag, shredded beef was terrible with no flavour and hard texture. Sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style was alright but nothing special. Half of it binned,n won't be going again sadly

We've using this takeaway for years.... But alas sorry I'm done, I won't be returning. Two chow meins, one beef the other chicken. Just sliced up beef and sliced up bits of boiled chicken sitting on noodles, nothing else. I'll go elsewhere in future even if I have to travel.

This used to be one of the best Chinese Takeaways in the area and I have been using it for the last ten years. Sadly the service, quality and value for money has fallen recently. Twice in the last week I have been given the wrong meal however the young lady serving refused to replace it. They have also started to use much smaller containers for their food which significantly impacts on value for money. Unfortunately I will not be returning again and will use the Aroma restaurant next door instead.

The Chinese Food Centre offers very tasty dishes at reasonable prices. I asked for my favourite Cantonese dish, 'salt and pepper tofu' and they were happy to make it even though it was not on the menu. Served with slivers of onion, it was almost better than in Hong Kong! Also recommended: the Singapore fried noodles. Service was fast and helpful. We will be back for more!

Been visiting for 20+ years. All the best Chinese restaurants dont deliver, to get the best you have to collect. Big portions and unlike some you can tell the difference between pork and chicken in the dishes as it's not unidentifiable. Very rarely slow service, but I always ring before I collect.

So after my first visit I was back again and was just as nice, free prawn crackers a now extra

having moved from an area with a wealth of good restaurants and takeaways for our first chinese takeaway we relied on star rating which worked perfectly it really was delightful; a takeaway we shall visit again and again

I've been using this place for roughly 40yrs, since I was a teenager and it's still serving excellent quality UK style Chinese food. Good location central to Havant social amenities. Always friendly service.

And that's being polite, we've been using this takeaway for more than 15 years, it is now the worse in the area. The food was bland, soggy sludge, tasteless and cold, what the feck are those ingredients? This place needs a visit from environmental health and food standards. DO NOT GO HERE...

Better when pete ran it just little things like the pink prawn crackers made it special. Still nice and if they delivered would go here more often. Chips aren't the best and a bit pricey overall. But better than the average in the area.

Used to love this place back when Pete ran it. Even when taken over it was the same and loved, but the last twice I've been there has been literal bones in my chicken balls! Nearly broke a tooth eating here. So disappointed

Very basic takeaway, it's hard to find a menu online and they don't deliver but, the food is always freshly cooked and tasty.

My partner and I normally get our chinese take out else where but thought having recently moved 2 mins away from the Chinese Food Centre we would grab some food on the way back from a long day. Safe to say we wont be doing this again. The chow mein had some sort of residue and the chicken was just chucked on top, the residue felt almost like vaseline it was the most bizzare texture I have had in Chinese food. The egg friend rice was very dry and the sweet and sour chicken hong kong style was very chewy and the sauce was very bitter it was as though you had just poured a bottle of vinegar all over the dish. We ordered some extra crispy chilli beef, this was the first thing i opened, the smell was revolting it was burnt to crisp and just smelt of over cooked egg. The prawn crackers were the best part of the take out so if your after some decent prawn crackers then this is the place but other than that it was aweful to the point my partner and I were feeling nauseous for the rest of the evening and into the following day.

Placed a £20+ order and went to collect. The food was bland and tasteless and was very disappointed so rang to say I would be bringing it back. Got there and explained my reasons, sadly never got offered any sort of refund so had to spend more money on food from elsewhere. You've had my 20 quid for nothing so you won't be getting my custom again.

Best Chinese in Havant, no contest

We have been using this takeaway for over 30 years. After tonight, never again. The food is dry, with no sauces. As for healthy(yeah, I know it's a takeaway), forget about finding any mushroom, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, cucumber, peas, etc. Previously, all the meat was nicely sliced and you could see and taste nice quality had been used. Now, it was all chopped up small, presumably to make it look like it contained more than was actually there, and it included all the gristle and bone. We have never had a problem before, and always recommended it. Never again. Disgusted.

Been ordering food regularly from 'Petes' for 23 years. Pete has retired, & his son has taken over, but as he worked there anyway the food and prices haven't changed too much. People do visit from Chichester, Cosham, Southsea just because its the best tasting, value -for-money Chinese Take Away in the ' PO' area at least.

Been using this takeaway for over 25 years, over the past year it's getting tasteless , don't bother picking anything on menu with the "chilli" emblem there's never been one near it, also had a beef in black bean sauce and there wasn't a black bean in sight just watery gravy like liquid, just bland bland bland, prawn crackers are soft and stale, no effort at all put into the cooking any more, chips are great though, such a shame

Friendly staff & real fresh & juicy king prawns in my mildly spiced curry opposed to frozen junk that is so common in this area, my only problem was the undercooked egg fried rice, that was quite hard to digest.

This takeaway is excellent. I quizzed the staff member who assured us they use local butchers for the meat. You can really tell that is true. Chicken balls made with breast meat as opposed to those processed sloppy efforts at most other places. Good work and well worth every penny.

Easily the best Chinese in the area, always impressed. We always deem it worth driving for, and you're never waiting long. Great service, great food!

Ordered a selection of dishes for someone's birthday. Pleasant lunch with everything on time and as ordered. Good quality ingredients. Prawns good quality compared to some shrivelled up miniatures served in other establishments.

He probado unos cuantos curry desde aquí ahora y aunque es bastante picante todo sabe muy sosa y mucho lo mismo. Simplemente no es sabrosa. Las bolas mixtas estaban bien y mucho mejor que los diversos curry que he probado. La entrega es rápido y siempre actual. No fue la mejor comida china que he experimentado.
