The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving Chinese food

AVOID! Ordered crispy chilli with honey chilli sauce x 2 as it was new on the menu. Going by ordering from a different Chinese which is really good was looking forward to try this from the five star as this has been my favourite Chinese restaurant for years. Already have had my thoughts since restaurant been taken over by new owners food and staff overall not the same. Ordered this as a takeaway got home and was immediately disappointed crispy chicken dry in a separate containers opened it up did not look appetising at all coating on chicken just didn’t look right. Secondly the sauce was literally like water never seen anything like it. Tried it but couldn’t eat it absolutely disgusting. The Five Star used to be best Chinese in Kilmarnock but since new owners took over it’s turned five start restaurant into cheap looking and awful food. Definitely not be back and would recommend everyone to avoid.

Hi guys is the restaurant ever going to reopen are you guys closed for good now?? Such a shame if you are this restaurant was outstanding we travel 1 hour 20 minutes just to come to eat as the food is absolutely out of this world fingers crossed you reopen soon

The food was so great, we enjoy coming here every weekend. But there was only one thing that we not happy about. Its the women upstairs (who always playing with her phone), she was so rude and very hard to find her if we need something, always busy with her phone (maybe she is a boss 🫢🫢🫢) . When we finish the meal for a while, she still with her phone, the staff from downstair come to clean and ask us very gently. I think next time we will sit downstair for better service , or no paying service charge for the women upstair 🧐🧐Anw, I want to give them 4-5 stars and hope the women can improve her attitude to enhance the quality of the service here !!!

Very good Malaysian food !! The waitress helped us a lot and was super nice

If there was a 6 star for service, this restaurant deserved it. Timely service, pulling out tables to help you sit in booths. And really solid food. My wife and I ordered the executive special, and I have 0 complaints. Honestly, they could serve me microwaved water, and they'd still get a recommendation from me.

Amazing food, cooked to order. The starter platters are fab. Always good service. Just a shame the restaurant is a bit shabby and so tired looking. Needs a little investment and a lick of paint.

Food as good as it used the lady serving was a bit rude every thing was Very greasy. The starters were for example then I had duck pancakes they where cold should be steaming hot

We came here on Friday 25th October for my sisters 18th birthday meal there was 15 of us upstairs. I wanted to write and say what a fantastic experience we had I’m so glad I chose Wong KWEI. We had a couple in the group with severe ADHD, and on a couple of occasions it got a little heated. We struggle to go out to dinner because of this as a family but wow the staff were incredible. So professional, they handled the situation fantastically. There was a lot of different tabs but the drinks and food all came on time there was no errors. The food was amazing!!!! But it was the young waiter. A male dark hair, he really made the experience, he couldn’t do enough for us, he didn’t make us feel uncomfortable when the children were playing up. Overall he made what is usually a stressful situation for us really wonderful so thankyou very much 🙂

Amazing food, great prices, very helpful and polite staff. Stopped in to pick up food and the staff was so friendly, and gave me a free appetizer while I waited. The food was incredible for the price. Especially the crispy duck. Will be coming back.

Amazing food so full of flavour and piping hot and friendly service will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone

Nice people, very welcoming. Plum duck was excellent. Look upstairs to find this restaurant. It is now called TJ's and also serves Thai food.

We cook very well at home and judge bad food accordingly. Peeking Phoenix serves amazing fresh food with each element cooked as well as they can be, the staff are always friendly and you can tell this is a close nit family venture. You’d never think this restaurant was in Eastleigh, an asset to the town.

Wow - how much food? Loads! Be prepared for loads of food with the “all you can eat” menu for £25. Great menu. Highly recommend the duck pancakes and Tsing Tai chilled beer

Had an awesome take out from Rivermill. Particularly liked the new Spicy Korean Chicken Wings. Really lovely food and great service!
