The food and restaurant was 10/10 i Ioved the food so did my mom grandma and brother came to get here twice and loved highly recommend jimmy express to my friends.

The place was so nice. I had a twice. I recommend they open a shops in Seattle, Washington Tacoma, Washington in Federal Way. Washington, thanks for the food is delicious. I come back in the near future.

Possibly the best Chinese in Edinburgh. Uber eats let us down and cancelled after 2 hours of waiting, Jimmys express delivered themselves. Can’t recommend more!

Did not like the mix vegetable chowmein The vegetables were not stir fried with the noodles, just added in the top. They were sticky. Also not a good variety of vegetables. Money wasted.

A hidden gem in Edinburgh. Excellent authentic Chinese food, great customer service from all the staff from start to finish. Portions were large so a few dishes were easily enough to share between 2. Spotlessly clean restaurant throughout. The website said it was fully booked but we ignored that and walked down to take our chances. Plenty of tables left for walk ins so I’d say no need to book. (Visited on a Saturday evening) would recommend. Reasonable priced.

I wish I could, but I cannot without lying to myself give this restaurant five stars. Coming from Sichuan, the dishes were not very authentic at all. The fuqifeipian tasted all wrong to me as did the other Sichuan dishes we ordered. Also, the yuxiangqiezi was pretty good. Perhaps we shouldn’t be ordering Sichuan dishes from what doesn’t appear to be a Sichuan restaurant, but honestly! It doesn’t even taste remotely close to what I am used to in China. The service was good though, although it was slightly expensive. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend, but it wasn’t terrible by all means.

We’ve been traveling in UK for 2 weeks We found the best Chinese foods in Edinburgh Foods so fresh like roasted duck, BBQ pork, steamed chicken with garlic sauce, steamed fish and stir fried vegetables. 5 stars to service take work as a team work. All customers in restaurants so happy to eat at Jimmy Express.

The environment is very clean, the food tastes very good, it is a very authentic Hong Kong-style restaurant, the roasted white-cut chicken is delicious, and the service is also excellent. I have been given sago juice twice since I came here, which is so considerate! Sometimes they even give you some fruit, which is so nice! If you want to eat Chinese food in Edinburgh, you can consider this place, you won't be disappointed

We were in Scotland for 2 weeks and ate here 3 times. This is hands down the best Chinese food I've had in a restaurant. Everything about this place is wonderful. We ate the shared meal for four and we were stuffed. The next 2 trips we ordered individual meals. It was close to Christmas and at the end of the meal they gave a sweet gift to each of us. It was a small canister of tea. If you're in the area, I encourage you to try this hidden gem. I'll be back on my next trip!!

I walked into this restaurant spontaneously with my friends, and I couldn't have been more impressed. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an incredible dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious—every bite bursting with flavor and prepared to perfection. The atmosphere was equally remarkable, striking the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy good company. However, what truly stood out was the exceptional customer service. It was, without a doubt, the best I’ve ever encountered. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed and well taken care of, which made a lasting impression on me. In fact, my first experience was so wonderful that I went back the very next day! And I know I’ll be returning again soon, as there’s still so much more on the menu that I’m excited to try. Loved the quality food, friendly and welcoming host and their servers. The portions are huge in our opinion. Each dish is at least for two people. So if you are eating alone, order max of two dishes is good enough. One of which is starch or you may have to bag it home! The taste is perfect for us. The price is standard for most restaurants in the area but reasonable. During our stay there, we dined there 4 times over 6 nights and enjoyed each and every time. Btw you have to try their hotpots. We tried both chicken and beef on seperate occasions. We preferred the beef to be honest. Great service as well. We were served by Calvin several times. The bloke looks serious but he's actually very funny 🤣 once he starts chatting. I can say that we will remember Edinburgh fondly, and Jimmy's would be one of the reasons. Update.. 14/1/2025. Went back again to visit Jimmy's after two years. This time with my brother-in-law and friend. This time it's like a reunion with close friends. Great food, company and catch-up. The same feeling but better. Had dinner twice over the two nights we stayed. Looking forward to visiting again in the future.

Ordered the chicken chowmain and lemon chicken chicken tasted cheap and slimy even the dog turned his nose up at it and for £15 a meal it should be too notch totally cost 34.28 including delivery 😳

The friendly service helped us not to order too much and even gave us an extra plate of barbecued pork. Of course, there were also oranges.

OMG the best restaurant forever!!! Chashao is very nice and the staff there are really welcoming and friendly. Absolutely the best choice if you just visited the museum cus it has a very good location.

The restaurant was so clean and inviting, and we were taken to a table immediately! The service was excellent! We had the duck and chashu noodle soup and the singapore chow mein which were delicious. We were also given delicious mandarins and fortune cookies at the end! Thankyou so much!

The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Great atmosphere, fast service, really good food and warm on a cold rainy night. They can teach the rest of the restaurant’s in the area a lot about service and being helpful and friendly.

Typical HK restaurant with a wide variety food that serves both hong kong and chinese style food. The roast pork are delicious. Wanton noodles and Sichuan sour fish are only so so. Ice red bean is nice as dessert. Staff are friendly unlike typical HK servers.

Delicious food that came very quick! It’s called Jimmy Express for a reason. We had the Ho Fun, brisket, crispy shredded beef, and lamb curry, which we highly recommend. We also got little extras at the end, which was really sweet! We will definitely come here again next time we are in Edinburgh.

We traveled from Sydney to visit UK. Stayed in Edinburgh for two nights. My family went to this restaurant twice and we really enjoyed the food there. The price is fair and the taste is good, the dishes are prepared very quickly as well. Highly recommended if you want to try the Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh.

Was intending to go to another restaurant but passed by and thought this place looked good, and I am so glad we chose to come here. We got the char siew rice, beef hor fun and hot and sour soup, they were all delicious and portions were pretty good too. The staff were also super friendly and gave us free tangerines and sago dessert!

AMAZING. Great and fast service. Complimentary crackers, tangerines, and fortune cookies. Great food. A bit expensive but very large portions. We got honey chicken and 2 plain chow mein. Very filling for 2 people. AMAZING!

Jimmy's Express in Edinburgh lives up to its name - we've never had service so quickly. However, it feels rushed and you don't have any peace to devote to eating. The food itself is very tasty. At the end everyone received a fortune cookie and a tangerine.

The Xinjiang Stew is great, very spicy. Char siu and duck is quite bland, honey chicken wings were average and not worth the price. Friendly staff and chill atmosphere

Decided to give this place a try as it was conveniently situated nearby. There was no queue when I arrived and was seated to my table almost immediately. I had the curry chicken rice and it didn't take long to be served. The food was okay in my opinion and it helped to satisfy my cravings for Asian food. Kudos to Mr. Lau (whom I believe was the floor manager) who was attentive and he was nice enough to offer a Mandarin orange and also a sago soup dessert.

Restaurant is spotlessly clean and attractive. We ordered 2 mains. They were served with a small portion of prawn crackers. Aversge food arrived lukewarm within 2 minutes of ordering so we were in and out in 20 minutes. Overpriced and I grudged the 10% service charge as there was no chat and the bill was placed on the table without us asking for it. Not a nice dining out experience.

Excellent! I had been years before but forgot what the name of the dish I ordered was. They were quick and patient. As soon as it came out I knew instantly it was the dish I wanted. And it was as good as it was years ago. 🤤

If there was a 6 star for service, this restaurant deserved it. Timely service, pulling out tables to help you sit in booths. And really solid food. My wife and I ordered the executive special, and I have 0 complaints. Honestly, they could serve me microwaved water, and they'd still get a recommendation from me.

I saw the reviews and I couldn’t help but walk all the way there from the other side of the city centre to try! Upon entering the place was very clean, tidy and the music was the perfect volume. The aesthetic is also very modern and fancy for a casual dine in. The boss there seems very passionate about running the place right and he’s got the perfect team behind him. I ordered the beef brisket, chicken noodles and HK sweet and sour chicken. Every single thing I ordered was so delicious and the beef brisket was no joke! It’s the most amazing beef brisket I’ve ever had. Customer service was excellent and staff served promptly! I’m very glad I visited this place, it’s my first time in Edinburgh and I hope to come back again! Thank you

I am just a tourist here, but I have never had a Chinese food that could be terrible to this level. I guess there are not many Chinese food around in town. The manager asked us how was the food, we said it tasted bad and his face turned cold immediately and didn't ask anything further, it looks like he's not willing to improve nor clarify further at all. :)

The best restaurant we were in during our time in Edinburgh. We are from Spain and we still remember the wings with honey and rice. Everyone was very attentive and even gave us mandarin oranges and fortune cookies. 10/10

Food portion is very poor. Ordered a char siu and roast duck with rice. 5 pieces of char siu and 4 pieces of duck of which all came from the back of the duck. No meat on them at all. On the other hand, they have outstanding service! Extremely friendly staff!

It’s a restaurant recommended by a friend~ I ordered sweet chicken, barbecued pork rice and roasted duck rice, and I felt like I was going home in an instant👍It was very delicious😋...The waiter’s service was also very considerate, and he gave me some fruits and oranges after the meal. STOP, going in when you are long away from hongkong and wished a taste of true hongkonger restaurants. Yes, I and my faimily were angrily got ripped off...I am a hongkonger so absolutely have a position to judge what they are selling/gimmicking. 1) 'char siu'- right, you saw (me too) the sign 'king of char siu' with the picture of acclaimed hongkong chef on the windows, that's the problem...you walked in. End of the date, our char siu was like microwaved, dull color, dry, no honey glazed. Please Google 'char siu hong kong' what it is supposed to be. 2) Chicken fried rice, our benchmark food for 'wok chiu'- with all due respect, it is like panda express, fried rice on the bottom and few chicken strips are added on top. My wife can't hold and asked 'this is Chicken fried rice', the owner daughter (we guessed) replied in Cantonese it is different from those than in Hong kong. 3) deep fired tofu-lucked out, this is good, order to cook.

Taiwanese people who come to Edinburgh must make a pilgrimage💯 The meals are super delicious and full of human touch! The boss’s after-dinner treat is bird’s nest sweet soup + an orange per person👍 Warm water is provided as soon as you enter the door🤩 Chinese and English bilingual menus with Chinese ordering, various attentive services during the meal and no service charges🥹 Before leaving, the boss heard that we were going to catch the train and stuffed several oranges into our arms and asked us to eat them slowly on the train🥰

I arrived in Edinburgh, it was pouring rain and it was getting dark, I needed to eat something but I didn't know what to eat, so I came to this Chinese restaurant not far from my accommodation. There were quite a few customers in the restaurant, and the fact that it also offers delivery seems to have made it difficult for the restaurant owner to establish himself in a foreign country. Praise for your efforts and results. It's been a while since I've had Chinese food, so I chose three dishes based on the ones with pictures on the menu (because I thought the restaurant was confident), and I ordered them because they said Baekju in Chinese characters. This is because I suddenly remembered drinking something strong, Hongju (?) or something like that, while on a business trip to Hong Kong ten years ago. I thought it was Chinese wine, but he kept saying french and showing me the English menu on the other side, so I realized it was white wine. it's a shame. It didn't take long for the food we ordered to come out. It's like a Chinese restaurant. Of the dishes I ordered, the mapo tofu was too spicy and sour that it didn't suit my taste, but the rest of the dishes were very delicious. Edinburgh may be expensive, but the food was quite expensive, so even when I was full, I ate it cleanly. I ate well and slept well at night. There were more people working in the store than expected, tangerines were distributed as dessert, and there was a 10% service charge.

We were looking for somewhere to have Chinese food while on holiday in Edinburgh. Found Jimmy's on Google and thought we would try it out. Delicious food, great service, cosy & warm. Glad we decided to eat there.

Staff are friendly and feel you welcomed! They will also recommend the food if you are first time be there. No matter you are Chinese or non-Chinese , your taste buds can got satisfied:) Chinese restaurants are way much better than those in London . Recommend! Originally, it was sweet corn chicken soup, but my brother told me that foreigners generally eat more of it. Later, I changed it to Cantonese soup, which was delicious and suitable for winter. The emotional value provided by the staff is very good ahhh, the Chinese food in Scotland is better than that in London🤣

I would like to give the food as 3 stars this time. I had my meal on Oct 8th. I ordered roast duck with rice. However, the duck and the egg were unevenly heated, though they were fully cooked. I have been here before, and the food satisfied me previously, so I think it is a less frequent mistake for my unevenly heated food.

Empezamos con sopa, comimos medio pato y unas tostadas de gambas antes de compartir un plato de carne crujiente con arroz frito con huevo. La pista está en el nombre realmente ya que la comida se entregó rápidamente, estaba caliente, cocinado a la perfección y sabía muy bien. La mejor parte para mí, sin embargo, fue que eran fieles a su palabra y ninguna de las comidas incluía nada que no pueda tener, lo que significa que no me hizo mal. Mi pareja y yo viajamos mucho y comemos fuera y puedo asegurarles que encontrar un restaurante que pueda acomodar mis requerimientos alimenticios es poco y muy lejos a menos que quiera comer el mismo plato día sí/no así que para esto les doy Jimmy’s 5 * Gracias por permitirme disfrutar de una gran comida en un encantador restaurante donde todos estaban atentos a nuestras necesidades.

The female staff are friendly, but the male staff are somewhat aggressive and far from professional. The service quality is far below that of an average restaurant. Despite the place being completely empty, if you're dining alone, they give you the least desirable table. When you sit where you want, you may get strange looks, and they display amateur behavior such as coming to ask how your meal is while you're chewing and staring at you. Moreover, they don't fulfill basic service elements unless you ask for them. Most of the portions listed on the menu are not enough for one person, and even if you buy a takeaway product, you still have to pay a service charge. At least I paid to avoid an awkward situation. Apart from these, the atmosphere is suitable for conversation, and the owner seems like a good person. I'm sure he puts the tension of running a business on his staff, but every time I’ve come across him, he has always been very kind to me and my acquaintances. I'm writing this review after about 8 visits; I didn’t form these opinions in just one day. I hope you can improve your establishment a bit. Thank you.

Worst experience I have for Chinese food in UK. Waiter rushed to keep our plates when we are still halfway eating them. Another waiter came over to just pass us the bill without asking if we need to eat anything else or ask for our feedback and rush us off even though there was no queue outside at all. No complimentary mandarin oranges were given when we witnessed him giving to the table next to us. Will never come back again. Food is alright. Have tried better Chinese food with more reasonable price elsewhere. I have never given such a review to any of the restaurant I’ve been before. I ordered 2 main course and no additional items. We came in with extra bags and they offered us a small table which barely able to fit both of us in. The other customers who are just of 2 and not carrying any baggage was offered a bigger sofa area to enjoy their meal. Before they reach here, the sofa area was empty. We did not order extra food compared to other tables. If this is not discrimination, I don’t know what is.

visited with my dad. i got char siu with honey sauce which is probably my favourite food I've ordered. staff are very nice! will visit again. only problem was that i couldn't connect to the free internet, not a huge issue.
