worst food Food full of frozen food No fresh vegetables at all The food is salty and smells disgusting. The lighting is dark and sanitary conditions are worst. I was very surprised by the high price. Never go here

The food all seemed like it was made from thawed frozen food. This is the worst restaurant. There is no food available to eat. Koreans should never go there I really regret it

China Red welcome customers to enjoy its variegated Chinese cuisine. Lot of deep fried foods in this buffet are acceptably good. The pork spareribs and fish fillets in chili sauces are the delicious one. Sushi bar, in my opinion, is a little underwhelming with not much options to choose from. The dessert section has lot of interesting and nice options. I went it in lunch time which is cheaper but supposedly less option than dinner time. I believe dinner time with give customers more satisfaction to indulge in their cuisine.

Great food, friendly staff (kay is lovely), and great prices, what more could you want? Brilliant place.

Love the food, so much varieties and even have egg boy waffle . They got everything I wanted. I would prefer this buffet than so call authentic chinese resturant, like Imperial Palace.

Went here for dinner tonight as we’re staying nearby. Please don’t go here. It’s absolutely disgusting! We paid £53 and all we could eat was chips, chicken wings and spring rolls. Everything was tasteless. Sauces were like water. This photo is meant to be a curry. The food was cold. All the lids were left up. Even the fried rice had noodles were tasteless.

Lovely redtaurant with a huge variety of good which was set out in a buffet style. Lots to choose from and catered for different diets.

Disappointed with our recent visit. I had booked a table via messenger on fb months ago. To turn up and find out they had no table's available. It's put us off coming back

Good choices of Chinese food and modified version of Peking duck. They also have hibachi seafood to offer. All were offered under all you can eat buffet.

Food is great, However, one of the staff who's wearing glasses is very rude. He should have informed us in a polite way that our time is finished and not being an arrogant huffy manner by saying “hey, your time is out you need to go and pay. Awful experience😔

I have been too ill to complain or post this review in weeks due to visiting China Red. Sick for almost a month from food poisoning & E coli. Strongly recommend a visit if you have a spare 6 week dose of antibiotics.. Or if you are trying to loose weight rapidly.. Off work for 3 straight weeks…

We came for dinner at 2 p.m. We were told they close at 3pm. No problem for us at least since the all you can eat buffet. The young waiter had just swept the floor and came to the table wearing rubber gloves to pick up the drinks. I found it unpleasant and inappropriate. There were no baked prawns or shrimp at the buffet. There was only a few sushi left. The classic vegetable soup was very thick and jelly-like, very spicy and without the black morels. The sweet and sour sauce didn't taste good. I'm used to it differently. The young man was friendly, but explained to me that some things are only available in the evening buffet. So we just got what we like. Unfortunately there were no warm baked bananas, only cold ones and no honey. Price 36 pounds with drinks okay.

A huge variery in choice but very poor quality. I had ribs, chicken and even sushis. They were all dry and tasted like old meat. The only decent thing I had was chicken in Thai sauce. Very disappointed for that price !

Went for lunch today with my Husband but have been many times before. Food Is always nice and fresh. Nice atmosphere and staff very polite and friendly. Would highly recommend China Ref.

I used to visit this place quite often and enjoyed it, but my recent experience was disappointing. On a rainy day, I went there, only to be told that their card machine was down and they were only accepting cash. With no advance notice about this issue, I was left in a tough spot after making the trip in the rain. This lack of communication and inconvenience has made me reconsider going back in the future.

Nothing special...and not a lot of Vegetarian/Pescatarian choices maybe 1 or 2 dishes, after 2 hours had cramps and threw up🤢would.not recommend or ever go back!!!

Visited tonight, an excellent selection of food. We were served by an excellent woman (I believe she was Irish?) Very attentive and chatty, we never had to wait long to have our plates taken, or our water topped up. Would highly recommend visiting.

I went for dinner and the truth is that I was very surprised since I did not expect much quality, but both in terms of quality and price, it is undoubtedly a more than recommended place and the waiters' treatment was very good.

We went here in 2018 and I'm still thinking about it.

Nice place, clean, friendly and pleasant enough buffet restaurant, good value to boot It is what it is - mass distribution buffet at a cost effective price. No frills. The food is good, but has the downfalls of buffet! Almost too much selection which means food is replenished slower ! So you need to ensure you eat the fresh new replenished dishes to get the food at its best. Some dishes had sat a while and were past their best. The service was good, we had a lovely lady server who was down to earth with a real sense of humour. So do I recommend? depends what you are looking for. Would I rush back? probably not, but that’s not to say is did not enjoy the food. I have just had better Chinese buffets so have rated as average

One of the best Chinese buffet style restaurants we have been in. Shame it’s so far away from home. Selection was huge, some very strange but worth a try as all well cooked. Best recommendation was the next table from china 😋. Good value always a plus.

All you can eat self service Chinese restaurant that has all the dishes you would expect, and some more. Bright and colourful interior, the pots of tea are good, as was the staff and relaxed atmosphere (at lunchtime) . It's located right next to the Usher Hall.

Hadn't been here for years. Dropped in one lunch time and had a good selection of food, although some of the meat was a little dry. Decided in future I'd return in the evening as there is a larger variety of food - no dumplings for example. Very friendly service and reasonably priced drinks.

In the UK, a Chinese buffet that costs less than 30 pounds is considered rich. Children love egg waffles the most.

Always a great experience staff are beyond great and have been frequenting this place for years and will continue to do so.

Absolutely recommend they had such a variety of foods but mainly Chinese but it was great for everyone and even the picky eaters had options. The food was always stocked and there were also many desserts. I loved it and thought it was definitely worth the cheap price as I stuffed down 10 plates, stomach did hurt a lot after

Can't fault the food as it's very good for a buffet, the price however is heavy, I made the mistake of getting a coke Intead of water 😅 should have been £18 which I can live with, however I got charged £24 as a result of the drink. Live and learn. The grub was very good and for that reason I will be back

We went to China Red on Sunday for Lunch. It is an All you can eat buffet. The 12 to 1 pm slot is the pick time when it is a little bit crowded. The table is for 90 minutes. It was 18.99£ for Sunday Lunch. Lunch hour is from 12 to 4.30 pm.

My husband and I went for lunch. First impressions: clean, great looking food, friendly helpful staff. Food was good, plenty of choice. Teppanyaki bar as well. Prices were good for what it is. I had beef curry, the beef was so tender it fell apart in the mouth- ideal for pensioners. Lively atmosphere as it was busy but good none the less. Dessert were good as well, ice cream, cake and fruit on offer.

Very decent food. Exactly what you'd expect from a Chinese buffet. Drinks machine is really good. Aye a good meal.

This is a little gem of a place. Loads to choose from and good quality food. We would definitely recommend this to our friends and family and we would definitely go back.

The food was amazing. I left so full I was struggling to walk! The servers were so attentive. As soon as we had stopped eating, the plate was away. The food choices there were so many possibly the best Chinese buffet I've ever been to.

As usual, the food was excellent well presented and topped up regularly, even though it was an exceptionally busy night. Staff, especially Kelly, were so welcoming and accommodating for our large party off 14 on such a busy evening. 100% happy 😊

We were in yesterday with my granddaughter tamzin for her 9th birthday and I don’t know the guys name but he went above and beyond to make it very special for her he got everyone to sing happy birthday and come out with a cake with candle on a big plate with happy birthday tamzin in chocolate decorated with wee jelly bears if u read thanks for doing what u did and made her birthday special.

Attended this restaurant on 30.05.24 half way through my meal both me and my daughter noticed bugs jumping about our rice and duck. Made management aware to have him wave his and and tell me it’s okay. It’s utterly disgusting. Have had bad food poisoning and had to take time off work.

The worst ever restaurant in Edinburgh I have ever been to. The dyned food, are they poisonous dyn? So red.sudan red? The ducks, the pork, must be frozen food. Easy to be stuffed. No dish is delicious. All rubbish food. McDonald is even better than this.

Best Chinese buffet in Edinburgh! So much choice, the food is hot and tasty and the staff are really friendly and kind. Super family friendly, always clean and good value for money.

Great choice in buffet. Something for everyone even amazing battered fish. Better than chippy fish and chips. And I added Chinese curry sauce to my fish and chips. Also a great choice of sushi.

Maybe not super cheap, but everything is expensive today. You can easily eat with your family

Very delicious cafe restaurant with many delicious and cheap dishes in a big city

This restaurant is big! It has several aisles of food, a dessert area, a sushi area, and a hibachi area. If you have a large appetite, you will do well. If you are a picky eater, perhaps you won't. My husband really enjoyed the sushi. I don't eat sushi. I found there were a lot of very similar items on the buffet. Even if they had different names, the tastes were quite similar. Things you might be tempted to eat a lot of, like the prawns, always seemed to have something to discourage that. The prawns were coated with a sandy seasoning and by the time I'd eaten 2 of them I practically needed a bath. There were also many not so Chinese dishes - pizza for example. I found enough to eat but felt the price was high for what I consumed. My husband was content. Our service was good and our server kept busy. We had come soon after it opened, but it was quite busy by the time we left.

not been to this place for a while but when i walked in i thought.....its a bit dingy , unfortunately it didnt get any better as the food wasnt the best , most of it was cold or dried out , the chicken was a bit rubbery, and i didnt find that thre was a lot of options compared to Beijing Banquet or the likes

We visited there for Monday lunch. The price is £17 per person, excluding drinks. Unfortunately, they didn't offer seafood dishes, dim sum, teppanyaki, roasted duck for weekdays lunch. The taste of all the dishes was average, not exceptional. Additional charges apply for drinks. Overall is good if you are craving for Asian food.

Food was terrible. Cold and overly salty . Only thing I enjoyed was the refillable drinks and the staff were nice . It was freezing inside too . The air conditioning was on when it should have been heaters because it was cold outside still . Definitely wouldn’t recommend sadly the food was the worst buffet food I’ve ever had

This is a fantastic restaurant offering a wide variety of delicious dishes with plenty of choice for vegetarians. One of the best I've tried and also recommended by locals. The staff couldn't be nicer.

Though it was a little on the pricey side, it was worth it. All the food was fresh and the place was very clean. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The overall vibe was perfect, dimmed lights created a more intimate setting as well as the harsh glare from bright lights were no longer a problem. If you are in the area China Red is definitely worth it.

A self-service buffet with a large choice of Chinese and sushi dishes. Welcoming staff explained how to serve ourselves. The Chinese starters and mains were excellent, but the deserts were poor, and mostly not chinese.
