Perfect, perfect, perfect. Staff are all so lovely

This was always our ‘go to’ Chinese but over the past few years it’s lost its character, and the food is now sadly nowhere nearly as good. The personal touch is so missed. Prices have rocketed and portion sizes diminished. The crispy chilli beef always a favourite, was always a good sized portion now it’s a ‘small plate’. ID is no longer an ‘authentic’ Chinese restaurant, there is way too much fast food being served.

Never have I been to a Chinese restaurant where they had such an extensive vegan/vegetarian menu. The food was amazing, reasonably priced and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.

Friends are vegan wife glutten free diet was catered for I tried vegan food and still remains some of the tastes food I've had before and enjoyed our evening price was fair many thanks mark

The best Chinese out there that does amazing Chinese vegan food! Wow what a place, the whole vegetarian menu can be veganised - most Is vegan friendly anyway. Service is great, lovely waiters and waitresses. Love visiting here with friends and family

I dined at imperial dynasty on Saturday with friends to celebrate my birthday & the service was very good however after having our starter a large table of 8 lads carrying beers sat next to us. Unfortunately they soon after became very rowdy & loud that my birthday meal was spoilt as we could not have a conversation due to loudness & nothing was said to them about respecting other diners So had a very disappointing birthday meal because our friends wanted to leave the restaurant Any comments would be appreciated from The manager

This place is an amazing Chinese restaurant with a vegetarian/vegan menu. Food is brilliant and service is brilliant 👏

The food was good and the atmosphere was excellent! My view of the service though (although decent enough) was tarnished by a few, slightly more-than-niggly, negatives. These were: 10 minutes late being seated (quite probably not so much the restaurants doing), correct information was not given to myself about the wine (one of the white's does not come by glass - fair enough - but tell me upon ordering please and offer me an alternative...do not just ignore the request and leave me bereft of one of my party's drinks...drinks I'm only at the bar ordering because your table is still not ready), confusion with what was ordered on a set menu, one part of guest's order being forgotten (fortunately, I had ordered 2 mains for mysel), another part of another guest's order being forgotten (fortunately, it was only one part of a large set meal). And there seemed to be young blond waitress, incongruous to the other affable ones, who at least lacked social skills (I'm being generous). The food was very good on the whole, although, i have always considered special fried rice more of a main dish over being a rice dish, but not here. Here, there was hardly any chicken or prawns at all in it. The best mark given to this place for its food goes for its serving of crispy noodles and as this is usually a stalwart of Chinatown (not provincial eateries like this) I cannot doubt its legitimacy. I highly recommend this restaurant, if only for the fact it clearly prioritises service: there was a plethora of staff serving here...and young too (I think it's great that the young are given a chance for experience and to earn)👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Takeaway is very poor. Stone cold and small portions. I don't think you should have to pay for food and then virtually recook it at home because it's freezing cold

Excellent service, friendly and efficient staff, and absolutely delicious food. What more can I say? This was our first visit and we will definitely be back soon. Such a high quality restaurant - I can't rate it highly enough!

I’ve been eating at ID for about 5 years now and would always justify the higher than average price because the food was so nice, but the last 2 times I’ve been here it’s been absolutely rubbish. Items missing from order, food really bland, and they’ve changed some of the food items I.e., chips, which always turn up very overcooked. Also, it’s always so busy in the restaurant so if you are coming to collect food you have to squeeze past people hanging around the bar, and some of the staff are quite miserable. Not all of them, some are very polite.

We ate here Friday evening. I had booked a table for 6 pm. We had the mixed starter platter for the 3 of us, which was nice. We then had duck, and when we were ordering, we couldn't decide between a 1/4 or 1/3. The waiter suggested a 1/4 as that would be 2 pancakes each, and we wouldn't be too full for main. Thank you for not trying to upsell. We ordered a mains each and then a rice and noodle dish, all was lovely. Service was great until the end. At 7.35 we were asked to vacate the table as the other booking had arrived. I at first apologised ,but as I stood up , thought, hang on, I never got told there was acting limit. I told one of the waiters why we had been asked to leave the table, and he replied that there was a 2 hour window. I commented that I had never been advised of this when I booked, and we still technically had 20 minutes. He apologised but it was too late by then. When I got home, I decided to email the restaurant as I was really not happy. Today I got a reply apologising for the mistake as a staff member had forgotten to advise me when I booked, and offered me a 50% discount for the inconvenience when I next book. I found this very generous, and I was very happy with the outcome. I also made the suggestion of putting it on their website, as it wasn't on there, as I appreciated that staff can't remember everything and mistakes happen. The reply I got was that it was a great suggestion and they were going to phone the website company on Monday and have it added. Thank you for listening to your customer. What turned out as a bit of a rubbish end to my evening turned out great.

Excellent, as always. Our fave restaurant in the area, not least because of its extensive vegetarian menu. Annoyingly we're moving out of the area so won't be able to use it anymore.

Food was okish. Mostly the service was not so bad, but one of the young female waiting staff has a serious attitude problem. She was unnecessarily rude because my partner put his cutlery on a plate she was taking away. Rolling eyes are not a good look, are seriously bad customer service and she huffed away after putting them down loudly on the table. How rude! After reading other reviews about the exceptional food, and people coming for takeaway knowing the wait will be horrific, I can only think where they have eaten Chinese food before has been tasteless. Can I assure anyone reading these comments, that ID food is really not *that* fabulous. It's expensive for the mediocre food it is. I'll never go back here and I travelled a good half an hour to use the restaurant. I wish I hadn't! Rude service alongside mediocrity isn't good when paying above-market prices! I expected a lot more and the ID in no way, delivered.

First time back at ID since many years ago. Service was friendly and attentive yet nicely unrushed; food was spot on. We sat near the door and it was a bit draughty whenever the door opened, but we enjoyed the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.

The restaurant was very busy, and I thought that would be a problem, but alas, the service was quick and the staff very polite, the food was excellent, I wouid recommend this with no hesitation. I only showed 3 photos, but the photograph didn't do the flavour justice.

We arrived, a few minutes before table booking, the queue was to the door - a mixture of take-away collections and bookings. After a few minutes wait, we were seated and given menus. After 10 minutes or so, we called a waiter over and asked if we could have some drinks, after which we ordered our starters. Three of the four starters arrived fairly promptly, but the fourth was not served until reminded and after the other three were finished. The mains were served just as haphazardly, one came out about 3 or 4 mins before the rest. Then the curries were delivered, but the rice dishes and noodles had to be chased and were very late. The food was OK, but not exceptional - but the poor coordination of meal delivery marred the occasion.

We went here for my sister's birthday and the food was lovely and good value. However, after we had finished our main course we were told that there was only time to have cold desserts, as our table was needed for the next guests. I do not believe when the table was booked that we were told about the time limit and in addition, there was quite a long wait after we had finished our starters before our main dishes were served, so if time was of the essence, it seems unfair that we were subsequently disadvantaged by the slow service.

Been here a few times to dine in and the food is great. However on another occasion I ordered nearly £100 worth for a take away and they couldn’t even give us a portion of crackers with the takeout which I thought was a joke.

Very good value for large groups. Friendly service. We hadn't been here for many years so it was good to return. A very varied menu and we enjoyed the lemon chicken served in a pineapple.

Really lovely atmosphere, good and efficient service and food is always top notch. Only quibble I have is trying to book can be difficult as no online bookings and sometimes no one answers phone for 20-30 minutes. But otherwise really great place to eat.

We decided to dine here for my sons birthday couple of weeks ago on a Friday. Our table was booked for 5.30 so it wasn't the busiest at that time, in fact there was only one other table at the time our food came out. I would like to add I've eaten here before, and had great food and service. The owner was pleasant and showed us to the table, but the waiters/waitresses were quite young and rather rude. The food was lukewarm- barely edible food on cold plates and not a great atmosphere. When we left the bar staff/waiters didn't acknowledge that we were leaving. I work with the public and customer service goes a long way, I will not be recommending this establishment to any of my local clients. Such a shame as it was for a special occasion.

This is a cautionary review for collection customers. The food here is exceptional, it really is - if you can get it. However, they have a weird approach to calling in orders/managing the wait time. Knowing they're a bit odd this way and popular. I rang ahead especially to check if they were taking orders, before committing to choices as we had a decent sized party and the food at ID is unique. 5 mins later, they stopped answering the phone. Just off the hook. So after calling for 30mins straight, we drove over. It was an hour and a half wait. This isn't how to run a takeaway. It's a shame, because the food, again, is 5 star.

Had an absolutely amazing meal at Imperial Dynasty. Genuinely the best Chinese I have had! The food was exceptional, the service was brilliant, and the restaurant is a lovely atmosphere. I would highly recommend and we will be back very soon!

After confirming by text this afternoon we would be attending our booking we turned up at 730 to be told there was a mix up with our booking. 10 mins later we were shown to the vacant table we had been staring at for the past 10 min. Our 16 year old waitress was very sweet but didn't have a clue about the menu and couldn't answer our questions. When the food arrived it was of poor quality and when we complained about the wok fried squid the waiter said next time to order squid in black bean sauce! The beef in black pepper sauce was sweet and didn't have any pepper. The mussel sauce was nice but mussels overcooked. No one checked to see if we enjoyed our meal. None of our party would return and I would recommend that people seek out an alternative dining experience.

Best chinese in the area in my opinion. Still the best IMHO a few years later 😀

For a Monday evening was pretty busy, accommodating staff, we ordered in stages and it worked well, ending up having starters, duck and then main. Lovely food.

Oooh what a shame; this has slipped. We had eaten here several times, always excellent but last night was dull at best and certainly disappointing. Crispy seaweed was not wok fresh. Felt and tasted like it had been sitting around for some time. Noodles not up to the usual standard either. Indonesian beef curry bland and underseasoned. Veg spring rolls still good. Apparently the regular chef(s) have gone for a holiday in Malaysia. Their first since COVID so I hope the enjoy it. I would. But please come back soon This is usually a place we look forward to visiting.

The food was delicious. Couldn’t fault it but the service was dreadful there were 4 young waiters probably in their twenties all they kept doing was standing by the bar talking. It was difficult to get their attention. The only other criticism is there is no easy access toilet downstairs fo disabled people.

First visit with 2 friends on a busy Saturday night, we were welcomed quickly to our table which was nice, service was excellent and food was brought out within 10 to 15 minutes of ordering which I was expecting at least a 30 minute wait to be honest. Superb, probably the best Chinese I’ve ever had.

There aren’t many Chinese restaurants around these days, with most being take aways. So we were very pleasantly surprised with our meal here. The food was top quality, and the staff were lovely, even helping us out with our birthday cake. Will definitely return!

Service was shocking Had 930 table only had starter and duck pancakes left at 1130 without having mains . Was so looking forward our night out with our friends but was ruined had kebab on way home . Not good

ordered £50 worth of cuisine. 15min drive and rice as cold as a stone floor, flavourless pork and duck. Good reputation and shameful quality, unfortunately won’t be returning.

We went to imperial dynasty for my fathers 80th birthday. I can honestly say I’ve never tasted such amazing food served by such kind and accommodating people. The food was fresh with amazing flavours and textures. The sweet and sour king prawns were lovely and the lamb in black bean sauce was all gone by the end of the meal. Added to this, the staff were so friendly and accommodating of my fathers birthday celebrations, he had the best time. I can’t recommend imperial dynasty enough.

Having lived in Asia for 20 years we are always a bit wary of British Asian restaurants. However, we thought the food was excellent and decent value for money. Highlights included the king prawns with spicy sauce and in batter, the Hor Fun and the black pepper beef. We will definitely return, probably very soon.

Considering they were waiting on young party of 20 plus guests they did extremely well including their trainees.

First time I had ordered as a takeaway from ID Chinese in West Malling, probably one of the worst Chinese takeaways we’ve had. The chicken balls were so hard and dry we could hardly cut through them, the chicken in the chow mein was not tender at all, prawn toast was horrible, the only good thing was the spring rolls, the rest was terrible. I’m not sure if this was just because it was a takeaway as I have heard such good reviews about this restaurant.

we use to use ID quite a lot but the last time we ordered it was quite greasy so made me fairly sick. could of been a one off but a few of the locals seem to agree its not as good as it used to be which is a shame as it was one of the best previously.

Visited tonight for a family birthday meal. The food was nice but we weren’t impressed with the service. The staff were friendly and helpful but it was lacking something. There were lots of examples with drinks being forgotten and another one being that when we had pudding, the cold deserts arrived and were almost finished when the warm/cooked puddings came out. You would expect in a restaurant like this that they would all be delivered at the same time (it’s not Wagamama’s), so it felt sloppy. We would go back but would like to see better service.

We have had many takeaways from here but tonight was out first time eating in. The food was excellent as usual, there’s a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Only thing would be that the service wasn’t quite quick enough and a few of our drinks were forgotten.

We had the pleasure of dining at ID last night, for the first time in many years. A fabulous evening with discreet and professional service, delicious and tasty cuisine.Our waiter was really helpful, polite and friendly. A true case of “you pay for what you get”, maybe a little higher than other restaurants, but, delicious freshly cooked food and excellent service.Congratulations everyone at Imperial Dynasty, we will return soon.

The food and service was very good but the bill was a little bit more than i had expected the bill was £100.00 for 2 inc a bottle of wine because they didn't offer wine by the glass which I found a little unusual

Been here numerous times over the years and, until my last visit, would have said this was one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area... however... there is zero respect for the current Covid situation - the tables are too close together, the air conditioning is inadequate and the restaurant is far too crowded resulting in positive covid test a few days later traced back to this establishment. It's clear profit is more important than customers wellbeing. 😬. Very dissapointing.

Really disappointed with the service and food. Told by the restaurant to collect my food at a certain time - they had two hours to make a meal for two and I ended up waiting over an hour in the restaurant…I wasn’t the only one waiting over an hour to pick up food either. There must have been 10 other customers waiting and getting increasingly frustrated. Lots of staff milling around but there was no real management of the situation. The restaurant manager finally spoke to a customer - no apology until prompted - she said she was stressed and then gave a dirty look as she walked off. It was awful customer service. The staff were more interested in getting payments from waiting customers than anything else. When I collected my food they had even got the order wrong. Last time I eat from there.

We had ordered a takeaway from here in the past which had gone ok, so decided to place an order for New Year's Eve to treat the family. It took ages to get through to place my order. I was offered an 8.40pm slot as the earliest, despite calling at 6pm and asking for a 7pm slot. When we turned up to collect the order at 8.40pm, it was chaos inside and we were told it would be another 30 mins at least, and one qoman said she'd already been waiting 40mins to collect hers. We decided to cancel and had to have a frozen pizza instead. Such a disappointment - it was supposed to be a special treat to thank my parents and it was a complete waste of time. Would not recommend.

On our first visit after all the lockdowns and restrictions we were a tad worried about recent negative reviews. There was no need to worry, the food was as good as ever, we've eaten Chinese food in many countries, in Asia and even Hong Kong - this is as good as the best we've had anywhere. As to be expected after the upheaval of the pat couple of years, there are new faces on the waiting staff and a few old ones, all very friendly and helpful. Still our favourite restaurant.

Very good food, friendly service

First time we have used for takeaway as Crown in Wateringbury closed on Monday and it was disappointing experience. The noodles were in clumps (see picture) clearly not separated while cooking, the Chicken Satay was strange, looking more like a black bean but tasted of neither and the prawn crackers we paid for, as we weren't sure if they would be complimentary were not in the box. We will not takeaway Chinese on Mondays from now on.

Started off badly. despite booking and the restaurant having empty tables, we were sat on the small table by the door which people collecting takeaways usually sit. Initially thought this was because they had some karge groups but then noticed at least 3 couples who arrived afterwards sat at bigger tables. So every time the door opened, as well as a draft, i got the sensation of people stood behind me and looking over me. We ordered the most expensive set meal which had lobster or at least bits of a lobster. Whilst sat at the table one of the waitresses was moving chairs and as she carried a chair to another table she smacked me in the leg. I yelped in shocked and she must have known she had done it but no apology. The set meal came with coffees which after leaving I realised that not only had we been charged extra for the coffees but they had added a 10% service charge. Needless to say, we will be going elsewhere in future.

Booked at the last minute for 5 people. Staff were very helpful. We ordered one of the set menus and it was superb. Plenty of food, all well presented and everyone at the table was delighted with the taste and quality.

Have had take away from here a few years ago on recommendation, which was good. Ate in the restaurant today and the food wasn't as good. Disappointing really. Plenty of staff dashing about but service wasn't that good either. Wouldn't recommend going here based on our visit today.

Best Chinese meal ever - fantastic

We went for the highest ratest Chinese for a takeway - it was so bland. Very disappointed. If it was cheap - I would have just accepted that. But it wasn't and we expected more. Very watered down and basic. Unfortunately we won't be ordering from here again.

Just tried this place for the first time - we were a bit unsure how it would go given the slightly mixed reviews (though the majority seem positive which is why we tried it). Food was lovely, I had the Indonesian style cod fillet curry which was a great addition to the menu, as a non-meat eater Chinese food can be a bit boring, i thought it was delicious! Everyones food was great, no complaints. Wish they did delivery as we’re only in kings hill, but collection is not a big issue. Very glad we tried imperial dynasty and will definitely order again.

Myself a close friend decided to have a change instead of an Indian, wish we had gone to the Indian!!The food is awful as is the service, the chicken and sweet corn soup had NO flavour whatsoever, when I insisted it be taken back the waiter just smirked and said ‘don’t you want it then’, no I don’t to be honest mate it’s got no flavour, the rest of the meal was warm at best, the glass of coke I received was flat (from a 2ltr bottle under the counter I should think). The soup was removed from the bill I would add.I have eaten in meany a Thai and Chinese restaurant locally over the past 17yrs and this one is by far the worse to date. Definitely will NOT return!Spend your hard earned money elsewhere and enjoy your meal!
