Overall very mediocre Chinese restaurant, service was very good, very kind staff however the fizzy drinks were all flat and we could see the bottles sat on the front and not even in the fridge which reduced the fizziness. Also the Lemon chicken was very strong and artificial taste, which was quite unpleasant and wasn’t much chicken in the chicken and black bean sauce, the rice was very greasy also, but as a whole was a average visit and I recommend going to the Fulham restaurant in Barnstaple as it is a lot better.

As regular patrons of this restaurant, we know it is ok as a local but nothing amazing. However, tonight, it was appalling when the beef and broccoli had zero flavour, albeit well cooked broccoli. By the time we could get the waitress, we told her, and she took the dish away at the end of the meal. When we asked for it to be removed from our bill, there was an argument, and it was refused. I've never known a restaurant take away a dish barely touched and refuses to remove it from the bill. We said we wouldn't return despite having a takeaway once a week, but it didn't seem to worry them over a tenner. Such bland overpriced food, if you are looking for a lovely Chinese, then try Fullam in Barnstaple, which is streets ahead.

Easily the best Chinese restaurant in Devon and our favourite, but unfortunately they have now changed the buffet menu and we can no longer recommend it. Only discovered this after booking recently, so as a result had to cancel. What a shame, still a very good restaurant but, menu choices no longer suitable for us. Our favourites have been dropped from the buffet menu.

Probably one of the better Chinese restaurants around the area. Free parking for plenty at front and rear Clean well presented and tidy with a well stocked bar alongside the takeaway Restaurant is sympathetically decorated to reflect Chinese life, spacious and lazy-susans on larger group tables to allow sharing easily. Good, hot, plentiful food traditional and expected. Friendly staff on the ball and attentive. They go the extra mile and sing happy birthday to any guest who’s celebrating. 2 pubs very close by if you fancy a drink prior to visiting. 3 courses with mains including 4 dishes plus drinks and dessert under £90 (June 24) on a Saturday evening. Will return.

What a fantastic evening! The food was delicious and the service spot-on. There is a reason why this is the best Chinese in Devon!

Edit: went back a few months ago and the service was awful. Waited 30mins for drinks. I asked for small rice amd kids didnt want it. And got a huge rice which they then charged me for. They were extremely rude. Wouldn't do sit in again. Always great food. The buffet is cooked to order so doesn't lose any flavour. They were great with my children age 4&5. Though bring things for them to do. Food really is delicious.

Authentic great food, attentive staff, thoroughly enjoyable experience. Lunchtime buffet, Sunday to Thursday, is a superb gastro experience.

Was a little disappointed with the service it was clear too many people were booked in at the same time as we waited over half an hour for our drinks to arrive and nearly an hour for our first course. It was certainly worth the wait though when the food came out.

We went for the all you can eat buffet on Sunday £22pp. Booked for mid day glad we did got to 1pm and started getting busy. Food was good especially for that price and service was ok. Pros: price, some of the food was really nice, service was quick to start with. Cons, the chicken cashew dish was slimey, the chicken balls the batter was too thick. The service towards the end wasn't great, our plates were taken and we weren't asked if we wanted anything else( we did) . We waited patiently for half hour but gave up paid the bill and went.

Excellent food, with not a hint of MSG

Popped in with friends who recommended the all you can eat buffet, I wish we had not of bothered. The decor has not changed since it was opened in the 80's. The food was disgusting. Vegetable Spring Roll was dripping with grease. The chicken wings were coated in granulated sugar???? The ribs were plain with a bit of sweet and sour sauce dribbled on them. The main courses were too sweet. The seasonal vegetables were bland. The beef Chow Mein was weird, I think the beef was boiled??? Nothing about the food was to my liking. All you can eat buffet £19.50,not worth the money

Lunchtime buffet with excellent choice of dishes

Beautiful food! Visited with my family which included my 2 young sons. Staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was superb and even my fussy 6 year old was happy! Brilliant night to end our holiday

Such a great night. The food has improved over several years ago. Excellent value, great service and no rush.

Called in as was passing on the way back to where we were staying. Food was hot, freshly cooked, not greasy and most of all tasty. Service was very quick.

Awful service from the orange haired man, messed our order up and refused to let us off with paying £2 difference on the order they got wrong! Yumee in bideford is a much better choice, cheaper prices, the food isn’t flavourless and the staff actually treat you like a human.

The only thing that was nice was the noodles I ordered salt and pepper chips it come it was chips with literally salt and pepper on them not peppers or chillis £5 for salt and pepper on my chips portions are absolutely tiny beef very tough. Prices are steep for the size you get also

The food was nice but it was very cold in the restaurant . Some of our group had to keep their coats on !!!

Possibly the worst dining experience I have had since Covid. The food was badly cooked, the service was dreadful and, as we were the only diners, the ambiance was non existant. About the only positive was that it wasn't all that expensive. Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Great quality food (not so the beef...was a bit tough), attentive and friendly service and at a reasonable price. Comprehensive menu so lots to choose from. Air conditioned restaurant, warm and very clean tables and nice authentic decor. Definitely will return and highly recommended. Takeaway is also an option.

We have been to the all you can eat buffet here several times and have never been disappointed, the garlic and tomato King prawns are delicious, and the beef in black bean is really dark and rich, just to name a few, a bit expensive but worth it. Under 5s free. The staff are very courteous and friendly too.

The food was excellent, but such silly, cold plates. I suggest they get decent bowls and make sure they are hot when put on the table

The food is very nice but they have a stupid policy of charging you for food you don't eat, I would never go back until this changes. We had to pay an extra £10 for food that we had already payed for, they lirtrally scrape all your food into a tub and then charge you for it.

Restaurant food was really good, brilliant service the new lady who had just started her first shift who was serving us was brilliant, as was all the other staff my only complaints were that the restaurant was quite cold and the tirmasu was frozen in middle but nothing really major will definitely go again.

Very nice food big portions sizes the staff are great and nice especially the woman with the pink hair. Very expensive so that need to be sorted. The pudding was to die for and was a nice end of meal touch.

3 of us turned up with out booking. We also asked for a specific table. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The dishes we ordered arrived quickly and hot. The food was very tasty and good portions. I loved the wheel in the middle of the table all the food was placed on as it made sharing much easier.

We short stayed in Devon 3 days and chose Han court for lunch and dinner.The restaurant decorations are so delicate and wonderful oriental culture elements,the servants so nice and kind. Very worth to recommend!

I am so impressed with the staff at Han Court! I have a severe gluten allergy and carry an epipen just in case When I made enquiries over the phone, the young lady was extremely helpful and patient. Having double checked my order, she phoned me back about one of the dishes that wasn’t gluten free. What a star! Thank you so much This means a great deal to me as normally I’m told there’s no options. Well done!

A friend suggested we visit this restaurant whilst we were staying in Barnstaple. The new owner took over the restaurant a year ago and he was the main chef at a chinese restaurant he visited frequently. The food there was wonderful and they made some special Hakka dishes for us as they are from there too.

Amazing food and atmosphere. (Update) Just been to visit for the second time as a large group, still great food. The staff are lovely and so friendly. I really would recommend.

Perfect Easter Monday Lunch. Three of us dined together from the terrific Buffet Lunch Menu. We all have differing requirements. One vegetarian. One dines on chicken. One on seafood. All choices perfectly cooked fresh. Delicious. Options explained to us by Waiting staff clearly. Had 'seconds' on starters. The "mock duck" option was really good. Plenty of wraps, spring onions and cucumber slices to enhance. The Mains were equally good. Well, worth the visit. AND convenient parking.

Stopped unexpectedly and was seated straight away even though there was a party in progress service was great and the sharing wheel in the centre of the tables is a great idea enjoyed it so much went back for a second time before we left Devon

It's a shame that I will not be going back to Han Court . The food is very nice and staff are very friendly , however i recently purchased a take away and on arriving home found that a portion of chips that was ordered was not in the bag . I phoned the restaurant and informed them and was basically called a liar by the manager who insisted that the chips were in the bag .I find it incredible that this situation arose over a bag of chips that probably cost about 50p at cost . It's a shame to lose a customer over such a small amount, customer satisfaction is clearly not high on their agenda. They did after a battle agree to take £2.60 off our next bill , which unfortunately I will not use as I will not return there .

We ordered three set menus and then separate dishes for the fourth person. When we got the bill, we had been charged for four set menus as well as the forth meal. This was a disappointing end to a really nice meal. When we said what had happened they weren’t keen to do anything because they said we ate enough for four people. This was really not our fault as we didn’t realise we had been given food for four people as we have never been before. There was also far too much food for three of us so we were all trying hard to not waste any. I’ve not experienced a situation like this before in a restaurant. In the end they deducted £10 but we were billed £25 more than we should have been for what we ordered. The food was very good though, just be careful with what you order and double check the waiting staff have written it down correctly so you don’t get stung

In bishops Stortford we had a all you can eat Chinese restaurant just like this, everything is cooked fresh and to order. Just like the one in Stortford the food was amazing and delicious. If you can get there and enjoy the food!

First time visit. No atmosphere at late afternoon when my Wife and I had a meal here, staff polite and well dressed. Food was very good and well presented. On the whole found the venue clean and weĺ presented..will visit again.

Food was lovely and service was attentive. Portions were ok, the assorted tempura was a disappointment it was all prawns. But overall really enjoyed the experience. We were a large group and the table with the large lazy Susan was great.
