Ordered on-line and collected. Most recent experiences include..... Salt & pepper Spare Ribs: 8-9 good sized very dry, over cooked chewy ribs. Nicely salted though, with sliced onions, spring onions & sliced red chillies.🌶 Curry, Beef: Loaded with thick slices of well cooked beef, big onions, ¼ mushrooms & peas in a THICK Chinese curry gravy. Can't fault the beef quality or quantity. Chicken Kung Po: Stewed chicken chucks, all the vegetables & cashew nuts in a sweet, slightly spicy glaze (not sauce). Lacking any real Kung Po flavour. 10p bagging fee & 90p service charge. CASH only. Ready on arrival & all small portions. ☆☆☆ Gromit Stanley Rating: 60-65% ADAQUATE

Delivery. Food was cool. And my opinion wasn't very nice. Had a selection and all tasted the same. Meat tough Won't return

Ordered took 2 hours to arrive keeping in mind the shop is only half a mile away. Refused the food will not order or buy food again shameful the kids were hungry we went to mackyd

Bit disappointed with our meal. Always had lovely food from here in the past, but this occasion it was not to the usual standard. Tried their new dish Wasabi Beef which turned out quite dry and seemed like it was over cooked and hardly any of the sauce. Chicken curry wasn’t to the usual standard either, quite flavourless and a bit watery on this occasion. Portion of chips ordered were definitely over cooked and dried out. Like I said, I was very disappointed that the quality was not as it usually was. Has it put me off? I’m afraid to say it has, now I don’t feel like going there again in case it’s the same again. Looking to try another Chinese in the future

I found this the best Chinese takeaway out of all I've tried. I've ignored it for 5 years and tried it first, a couple of months ago and it's my favourite one.

Holiday takeaway, fab food, good portions very very enjoyable. Totally recommend. Still the only Chinese takeaway worth visiting. Every year great food, lovely people run it. Try it, you will be back. Oh yes, not cash only. They take cards if spending over £15.

Put in £59 order asked for 2 x duck and plum sauce at £9 x2 BUT ONLY GOT ONE tried calling but they say can't here me so never again

Lovely customer service, kind and friendly; Had to return because of mistake with order, they were gracious, polite, professional. I was treated much better here than the most popular sit down Chinese restaurant on Tuly St and the food here is much better and far less expensive.

Ordered food on the app to be delivered at 7pm , nothing arrived , phoned at 7.15 , we are very sorry but we have taken a lot of orders was the answer I was given when I asked for my food. Advice don't take orders you cannot fulfill on time. Do not blame drivers. The food did turn up at 7.30. rice cold , chips cold, lemon chicken was very tough and the breadcrumb coating very soggy this went in the bin . Refused refund. No 100% satisfaction guarantee here. Will not use again.

We live in Braunton and both of our Chinese takeaways are closed, 2 weeks ago we ordered from another Chinese in Barnstaple and it was vile! 28 Chinese is the only other place that will deliver to us and I couldn't be more impressed! The girl on the phone was honest about the wait time before we ordered but the food arrived half an hour earlier which was a bonus. Its the best Chinese I've had in a long time!!! Highly rate it and my new favourite 😍

We always struggle to get a decent Chinese and normally go with another one bit been let down with delivery a lot. I'd seen on a local Facebook group that this place had got great reviews and boy they weren't wrong!!! Within an hour it was with us and the flavours of the dishes were out of this world 🌎. Can't wait to order again!

Don't bother pre ordering . Ordered for 6 pm with plenty of time . Still awaiting now at 7 pm and still nothing . After a phone call to the takeaway it supposedly left 45 minutes ago we await our cold food During the wait one guest has had to go to work as could wait any more It's now turned up ..eventually . 10 percent hot re the soup . The rest it is cold .. Pretty disappointed since normally your s ervice is pretty good hence we do use you alot . A very large negative , thank you

The worst chinese ever, absolutely awful food. Owner very rude and didn't care that £60 worth of food went in the bin. Total waste of money.

Delivered exactly when I asked. Tasted fantastic and they kindly left off the batter on the s&s. Can't fault them. Would happily order again but we are down on holiday so not enough time!

We have been to the same Chinese for 20 years and recently decided to try somewhere else. I’m so glad we did!! The food is amazing here, lovely flavours. Short wait times as well. We’re really glad we gave it a go! 5 star!

First time for food from here very clean and tidy and the food was excellent.

New to this Chinese takeaway, but I liked it. The food was very good, cooked quickly. Counter staff were all young and could do with a bit of service training....but a solid 8/10 overall.

Didn’t actually eat here but parked outside while in the pub…. Judging by their empties they supply good alcohol and looking through their open window they have a great selection of spices. It smells good so try it and let me know for next time!!

Passed by this little takeaway on my way to Exmoor on a Sunday evening when KFC 24/7 was shut and I was absolutely starving ! Had lovely authentic dumplings and the beef dish was delicious ! Had a little chat with the owner and found out the chef used to work in a really posh restaurant in London !

Such a shame we have had a few takeaways as a family.tonights a real disapointment...chips cold batter soggy on prawns... A bit of a let down.have you changed your chef.

Great customer service, great prices, quick and efficient, very tasty and not greasy. large portions, best ever sweet and sour chicken, mushroom chow mien, mushroom rice, red veg Thai curry......free prawn crackers....what more could you want?

Lovely food but delivery time is shocking waited over an hour

I have used these twice and both times the delivery took nearly 2hrs to come so in the end i had to pick it up myself absolutly dreadful service i wont be ordering from them again 😡

We have always been pleased with our takeaways from here. Foods always of a great standard and it’s become our go-to Chinese. Only down side is it can take a very long time for the delivery’s and we had a couple of errors but feel it’s our mistake. Suggest that dishes should have numbers to make ordering easier otherwise we highly recommend

This evening 1 of my orders was battered fish, which the fish was so flat even a flat fish looked fatter. (I've taken a photo if anybody wants to see the picture then they can. The fish wasn't wrapped nor was the chips, and they tasted like cardboard. I know people have their bad days but blimey the fish was shocking... I can't believe your standards would allow food to any food to leave your premises in that state. Very bland. But in the past its been nice...

Food arrived cold.. when I called the takeaway the chef wasn't really bothered!! Food looked great just a shame it wasn't hot.. maybe different if it was collected?

I order at least once a week at this Chinese and I absolutely love it! However this week they got my order wrong and when I rang and told them they expected me to pay for what I wanted. I said ive paid already and I'm not paying anymore for your mistake! After short disagreement they agreed but once on arrival the the young girl threatened my pregnant daughter! I do not recommend going to this Chinese

Just had duck Cantonese .Salt and pepper chicken and a crispy beef First i must say it was just about warm But the food was really nice Could not fault it except it was look warm So will give it another try and see

Excellent takeaway with hot, full on flavour food. Was here on holiday and treated ourselves, it didn't disappoint.

Down here on holiday, ask if they can delivery to holiday park, ✔ was given a reasonable time frame for delivery ✔ food was as good as my favourite takeaway ✔ delivery driver was very pleasant & helpful✔ would I use these again hell yes

Best Chinese we've had in a long time. Very tasty, good size portions. Delicious

So, I had crispy beef , egg fried rice and something off the menu… chicken, cashews in a yellow bean sauce (very old favourite of mine). 20 mins later there it was… and it was DELICIOUS!, Best in Barnstaple. Wonderful. And the rice is fantastic. I wish they could cook for me every day.

Saw the great reviews and had to try it out! Read the menu and couldn't believe the variety they offered and it all sounded delicious so I ordered a bit of everything and the reviews were totally deserved! Best Chinese restaurant ever! Everything was so tasty and we would definitely recommend this place to whomever is looking for an authentic absolutely fabulous Chinese experience!

Very nice freshly cooked hot food, we have ordered here a few times now and it very satisfactory, not oily, beautiful flavours and delivery is also very fast. I would highly recommend.

Staying near Barnstaple on holiday and fancied something different to eat tonight. Ordered a takeaway which was delivered in less than 30 minutes. The food was really tasty and hot and good value for money. Really good quality and very enjoyable.

We had a take away on new years eve the poor girls were snowed under but were still very friendly and professional, unfortunately some of are order was missing after phoning the ladys asked if they could do anything to sort it out tonight we had another meal it was so good if you fancy a chinese give this one a go

Thought we would try 28 tonight, all I can say is wow, every dish we had was absolutely delicious! Best salt and pepper squid I have had in a long time, and the steamed pork dumplings were really tasty. Empty plates all round, 28 will definitely be our goto Chinese takeaway from now on.

I’ve had a couple of meals from here and their absolutely delicious! I live in Bideford and I do a collection and when I get home it’s still pipping hot! I would defo recommend the chicken balls and pancake rolls, The main dishes are also beautiful! Especially king prawn chow mein!!

All the dishes were delicious and cooked very well. Much less salty than the Chinese we used to go to, but still full of flavour. Very good value for money, especially with the happy hour 10% discount. 28 Chinese Takeaway is our new favourite in town.

Please don’t advertise you are ‘open New Year’s Eve for delivery’ when you are clearly unable to fulfill orders. Ordered almost 3 hours ago and still not been cooked after 4 phone calls to chase up. We now won’t be eating (from elsewhere) until 4 hours after we ordered our food.... just don’t take the orders if you cannot fulfill them.
