DO NOT GO HERE! I spent £70 of food and they messed up my order! They lied and said they delivered it when I have a ring doorbell and evidence that they did not deliver the missing item!! Do not waste your money and go here

Gordon and his team are impressive! The food is excellent, all served piping hot and in a timely manner, even with a full restaurant. It is tasty and plentiful and there is a great choice on the menu. I would highly recommend that if you are ever in Chichester you pay them a visit. We will certainly be back again soon!

Excellent authentic cuisine, pleasant atmosphere, and friendly, efficient service. Not least, really good value for money.

They totally ignored us unless to serve. Didn't ask if we were happy with the meal. And charged me 50p for a container. If they smiled they'd crack their faces. Didn't do anything to encourage you to go back. Disappointed

This was the worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. After spending £61, we only received two skewers of prawn satay. The curry was incredibly watery, and everything else was dry and overcooked. I also asked for a menu, as we were new customers, but never received one. The food was overpriced and of very poor quality. I definitely won’t be ordering from here again.

I love this lovely family restaurant. I enjoyed a meal to celebrate my 50th birthday… immensely. The food is delicious and authentic. Thank you for such a special supper. Favourite place in Chichester yum yum

My mate and I were in the area for a football match and wanted a Chinese before we ventured home and research led us to the Confucius. I cannot fault it. The service was the friendliest I have known ever and also very prompt. The food was excellent. The Kung Po pork was superb and the dumpling platter for dessert was excellent too and the dishes were plentiful . My only regret is I don't live locally as otherwise I would be a regular... The waistline would suffer. The bill came in at just over £70 for three courses and a drink each for 2 which I felt represented good value and we left feeling replete having entered very hungry. Highly recommended.

Billy fiske close Had duck which was so dry, the pancakes had holes in it, the cucumber and onions was minimal. The ribs was shite…. All for £36 plus £3.50 delivery Stick to number 11 Overall dry and rubbish, dogs enjoyed it though.

I first came here 10 years ago when visiting a friend and every time I come back, I visit. The food is incredible! Delicious flavours. The crispy duck is my go to. The service is amazing and I'm always made to feel welcome. I wish I could pick the whole restaurant up and bring it home with me!

I ordered and dined here multiple times and the food was always fresh and well-prepared. Service is always great and they appreciate returning customers. Highly recommend this place!!!

Billy fiske close Ordered a takeaway yesterday. Crispy duck, dry ribs and chow main. £37 plus £3.50 worth of rubbish. The duck was so dry and the pancakes had a split in everyone. The onions and cucumber was not fresh and the ribs I gave to my dogs.. in fact the dogs had most of it. Never again !!!!

Ruined my daughter's birthday. Nearly 2 hours delivery. Rice tasted burnt. Chicken balls not cooked properly salmonella springs to mind. And gave us sweet and sour sauce when asked for BBQ. Customer service when you ring to ask where your food is they tell you food left restaurant and hour ago. And they say we will give you free food next order. Oh hell no never buying from there again. I can hand on heart honestly say it is the worse Chinese takeaway I have ever had. Seems if you eat in they take care of you but it you order takeaway they don't give 2 f... About your custom

I always order takeaway from here and it is simply the best in Chichester. Always deliver super fast and the food is second to none. Highly recommend the chicken wings too!!

Can't praise this restaurant enough. Food was amazing, service fantastic Gordon and his team are the best.

We ordered from Confucius tonight, and the service was deeply frustrating. The original delivery estimate was 45 minutes, which seemed reasonable. However, when the food was 20 minutes late, we called the restaurant and were told the driver was on the way. Ten minutes later, still no food, so we called again and were assured the driver was "just around the corner" and that the food wouldn’t be cold. After waiting nearly two hours, the food finally arrived, and it was completely cold. We called the restaurant immediately to complain, but instead of an apology, our call was transferred without explanation. When we finally spoke to someone, they offered to make it up to us on our next order, but when I brought up the fact that our current meal was cold, they hung up on us. The whole experience was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Terrible service

Good food, delayed by traffic issues

Nice cosy restaurant and takeaway to. It's the best place in town for a Chinese.

Disappointing. Very friendly and good service. However, the food was poor. Overall it felt like Chinese restaurants from 70s/80s. Menu was suspiciously big for it all to be fresh. A lot of the food was over salted. Our soups were gelatinous looking. The decor is tired and could do with a repaint and refresh. It also felt not quite as clean as it could be. Three of us were felt unwell afterwards. A great shame. Sadly, I really wouldn't recommend. I felt like I was in one of the restaurants from Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares and he would appear any minute.

We ordered a takeaway and was given two rice instead of noodles which was more expensive and got refused a refund so won’t be using them again 😡

These guys are absolutely amazing. The food is always sublime, piping hot and delivered well within suggested time. Adjustments in the order comments always made and super friendly delivery drivers. Couldn’t recommend enough!!!

Every time I order, there's a different problem. The first time, the tubs came half empty. The guy was very rude about it. The next time, I went to collect at the time Just Eat told me to and he shouted at me. So rude. This time, I ordered plain chow mein, which should be noodles with bean sprouts and onion, and there's nothing in it except noodles. For over £6. I won't be ordering from them again. Shocking and such appalling customer service. It definitely used to be the best Chinese in town, but not any more. Sad.

My wife and I went here for an evening meal, we went fairly early because we did not make a reservation. We were made very welcome and quickly seated. Even when we were ordering drinks and food the restaurant quickly filled with evening customers creating a very pleasant atmosphere. The service was outstanding, and the food, (the portions of which were quite huge) and wine was very good, and the cost was reasonable. If ever we are back in Chichester we will return here.

Arrived early for booking, but was seated anyway. The moment we sat down we were made to feel at home. The service from the get-go was amazing. Very friendly staff and always hosting a smile, seemed to know exactly when someone was ready to order or for the next part of their meal, fantastic customer service. The food was brought out within minutes of sitting down, it was hot and fresh, and full of so much flavour. The meat on the ribs just melted off and was delicious. The spring rolls, which are handmade by the wife, were gorgeous. The next part of the meal was the cherry on top. Special fried rice, with sweet and sour king prawn, chicken in black bean sauce and sweet and sour pork. All unbelievable and coming out in marvellous succession. Will definitely be coming here again in the future, as everything was spot on and brilliant. Thank you.

Been going here for the last 15 years whenever we travel down to Chichester for the Goodwood revival and Members meeting. It’s great food and always friendly service, definitely recommend this place

Food was okay, I don't understand at all that you have to pay extra for rice these days. The building, decor, furniture is all long overdue for a refresh. Dents and damaged areas everywhere, just not a nice atmosphere The food is okay, but the taste isn't really convincing; it can't get more than three stars

Had a takeaway from here, Best Chinese I've had since I moved to Chichester.

Best Chinese meal that I can remember. My wife went as far as saying that's the 1st Chinese meal she's not later regretted. Decided to ask the owner what they recommended. After a few clarifying questions, the following agreed. Prawn & pork dumplings; Beef in chilli sauce; batter crisp, beef tender; King Prawn ginger & spring onion; Pak Choi in Oyster Sauce & Singapore Noodles. It was that good decided to have dessert, Toffee Apple & Bannana that was finished off at the table. Everything was spot on & very tasty. Tsingtao beers all round! I was tempted to add another dish, but the Owner suggested we had ordered enough.👍 We later heard the Owner suggesting to another chap he may have ordered enough & the 3 other dishes were superfluous! 🤣

Unfortunately I didn't like this restaurant. Very outdated interior, felt dirty and loud shouting workers. Duck noodles were OK but Duck in plum sauce had a lot chewing bits. Definitely not worthy the money we have spend. Sorry.

As usual, great food, but as has happened before, the chow mein was not a full portion (big gap at the top), which with these prices is very disappointing.

Soggy spring rolls tasteless rice with 1 small piece of egg. Won ton just bits of pastry. Special fried rice was nearly empty. Used to large pieces of meat and prawns on the top. Very bad and cost us £100 for the 6 of us.

This is the second time using this restaurant for takeaway and it won’t be the last. Great tasting food and portions are great .

Have popped in here, after booking, to eat before 2 events held in Chichester cathedral. Booking was an early booking. This place is located down a side road off of South Street. Had starter & main on both occasions. Service was quick & food came quick too. Had crispy duck in pancakes which I haven't had in an age, it was delicious. This place feels like the Chinese restaurant I used to go to decades ago, a real family run Chinese, the kitchen door is open & you can hear the constant chatter of the chef, which adds to the authentic experience. 2 of us attended on each occasion, we arrived at 5.30pm, had soft drinks & 2 courses, were ready to go by 6.50pm, both times costs roughly £50 in total. Lovely little restaurant.

Enjoyed a very tasty meal here with my family. Will definitely be visiting again!

Missing the main meal! Not happy

Maybe an unlucky experience..but worse crispy duck we've ever eaten. It was virtually cremated. The other good was average at best ...so disappointed and put us off Chinese food for a while. Pre Christmas treat ruined. I never give bad feedback but felt this time I had to..... tbh pretty pricey too and was very cold in restaurant.

We had a takeaway. We ordered it online like click and collect. It was ready on time. We ordered the sweet and sour pork and the satay chicken, with a few sides. It was all ready on time and absolutely delicious. I didn't think it was any more expensive than other takeaways I have used, though its the first we've used since we moved here from Guildford.

What a quaint little family run restaurant, read lots of positive reviews about it and thought it would be nice to celebrate a friends Birthday there. And it was a great choice a great night was had by all.

Here on holiday and we really wanted a Chinese takeaway and honestly it was delicious food and a lovely lady served us, very friendly would highly recommend 😀

Great food and lovely people, but the prices are becoming extortionate. Main dishes are generally costing a minimum of £8 each, so for a small Chinese you’re easily spending at least £50! We were previously ordering on a weekly basis, but we won’t be anymore until the prices become more reasonable. Out of interest, I checked the current prices of the Chinese I used to order from in London; Confucius is more expensive! We will be taking our money elsewhere, unfortunately.

I received the wrong order and was told it was my fault, said she read the order back to me which she didn’t, I was also asked if I could pay for delivery at the same time, I agreed, was then asked to pay for delivery from the driver when he arrived. I hope they declare the cash they collect!!

Been to this restaurant a couple of times so thought it was time to do a review. The restaurant is not the best decorated but don't let that put you off at all. The owner is always welcoming in fact all his family are as they all work in the restaurant from the kitchen to front of house. The food is just amazing from starters to maim courses. The sauces that are used in the various dishes are all home made. Lovely cold Chinese beer and perfectly chilled wine are also served promptly when requested. Then the bill comes which is really reasonable so along with the great food I keep coming back for.

Easy to use Menu on website. Food arrived ahead of time nice and hot. All packaging recyclable. (use plastic containers as frozen food storage!) Always tastes good.

Our preferred chinese takeaway in Chichester. Really like the dumplings and salt and pepper chips. Had an item missing from my order recently. Dealt with really well when fed this back. Impressed.

One of my team went here for a birthday celebration and said “It was the best Chinese they’ve ever tasted” high praise indeed.

We ordered a spread of vegetarian dishes and were extremely pleased with everything! The vegan duck dish was surprisingly tasty. Looking forward to our next delicious meal!

Recommended by the landlady of the pub I was staying at. Great tasting soup and chicken hot pot, service was quick and efficient.

Lovely friendly service. We tried this for a change as our regular takeaway gets busy if you are not able to order as soon as they open. My usual dishes are not on their menu so I ordered something different. My husband enjoyed his, but I found my sweet and sour was really stodgy, I actually had to check it was the right dish as I could not identify what was inside the batter! Hong kong style is usually a dainty light batter, but this was thick and stodgy, so much so that I just couldn't eat it and shared it between my husband and our dog! Sadly I wouldn't order again, and it has put me off dining in the restaurant.

Our “go to” Chinese for takeaway or eat in. Never had an issue and always had great service and food. Have experienced alternatives with friends but if my choice it will always be Confucius!
