Went mid afternoon for an early dinner. Not cheap, especially as to get variety you have to order sharing-sized servings. A beer, two mains and some rice were very tasty. Cumin lamb was good, not as fiery as I’m used to. Fish Fragrant Aubergine with minced Pork was also *very* tasty. Very good, quality ingredients. Fast service, ‘efficient’ servers! Probably would be better when busy and with a group to share and explore the menu. Seems like the real thing but lamb had no promised Sichuan peppercorn. I asked before ordering but maybe got lost in translation.

Authentic Sichuan dishes. The spice level can be adjusted, often the peppers are more for giving aroma and fragrance than actual spicy hotness. Efficient service. Well priced. Will come again :)))

I'm one of those that kicks off by saying I don't ever leave reviews. This is my first. Basically inspired by the fantastic food. The place was clean, the toilets great (some places don't seem to care about the toilet experience) and the staff were on the right side of brisk without being rude. Once they warmed to us (we pretty much had to be guided through the menu) it was a big love-in so to speak. 4 of us. We had the fried fish. Beef with noodles. Peking duck. Wow! The fish was kinda extraordinary. None of us even asked what fish it was. It comes piping hot and literally swimming in a chilli and oil sauce with lotus plants and veg. Just utterly fantastic. Hot but so good. The beef with noodles had this smokey quality to it. Sticky and just ace. The duck was great but was hanging out with some big hitters. Really, we all thought it was fab. Never been before. Read some reviews, thought I'd have a punt. So relieved! I'll definitely go back. The menu is big, but hang a look at the specials. Our fish was on there. So, 9/10. Desserts - well....not so good really. Next time we'll probably skip off somewhere else for puddings. I still think of the meal in something of a reverie. I've had a fair few mediocre chinese meals. This place whacks a huge pin in for great Chinese food. So glad we found it x

This is rapidly becoming a favourite restaurant of mine. It is reasonably priced and offers a very wide range of tasty food - it's Sichuan, so it's really spicy (though they can tone it down when asked). Service is very friendly, I found. I love their noodles, and I would cross London (and do!) for their bitter melon (you love it or hate it!) with pork. I hope to become a regular customer in the future.

The Sichuan restaurant exceeded my expectations with its incredible selection of authentic dishes. I have no confidence in this establishment sadly. The waiter was a lovely lady. But am very disappointed that even though I specified no seafood or fish sauces I got bits of seafood in my take away. Food was very good, decent price. Morning glory (Chinese greens) with bean curd was excellent, extremely tasty. Dim sum platter was basic (8 pieces for just under £10) which I think wasn’t great value (nothing to write home about) but it was pretty tasty so no major complaints. Poor Sichuan restaurant for food. There are a number of better places for Sichuan food within 15mins walk of this restaurant. Food has the right level of spice but lacks any depth of flavour. Our fish in chilli bowl was thickly ladened with oil, the cumin beef was heavily padded out with onion, the pork belly was overcooked so what should be a very rich and moist dish was dry and hard. All dishes felt greasy after eating. Go to one of the other excellent Sichuan places nearby if Sichuan food is what you fancy. Staff is friendly and welcoming... ?!?!?! Wait.. when have you heard of a Chinese restaurant scoring well on costumer service? This one time alone, I am sure, and it's true, I am not lying, their staff was super nice and made us feel welcome and cared for. We couldn't believe we were in a Chinese restaurant, and, when the food arrived, we knew we weren't. The food is bland, tasteless, if you don't remember what you ordered, you wouldn't know what you are eating because it all tastes like nothing. Even the double cooked pork, a flavourful and deep dish, tasted like nothing. I thought I had Covid and lost my taste before confirming with the others at the table. I swear, I wouldn't even know how to make something this bland. Feels like it would take effort and skill to remove all the flavour from the ingredients. There must be a science of flavours nullification they have mastered, I don't know. We went to The Sichuan Restaurant to try this particular cuisine in different iterations. I personally discovered and fell for the Sichuan flavours in another local restaurant and ventured in a quest to try more. This one was an extreme disappointment which doesn't feel like any authentic or traditional cuisine but a generic touristry eatery. Lovely evening we had, don't get me wrong, but this is not THE Sichuan Restaurant, this is A Chinese restaurant using Sichuan recipes and names. This is appropriation and deception. This is like 95% national restaurants in London, that of the tradition they hold the flag of, they only hold the flag and don't even try to grasp the essence.

This is a fairly average restaurant…not bad, but certainly nowhere near great. The dishes are expensive relative to the quality, with the chicken having the usual pink tint found at this level of restaurant….not undercooked though. The starters were fine but I couldn’t help feel a bit bemused with the prawn toast…three tiny bits of overcooked toast with rubbery prawn. The main courses were somewhat better apart from the quality of the chicken. I thought £8.80 for a large rice was on the steep side, but maybe that’s just me. The service was good and very quick, although I do worry when dishes are produced to your table in such a short time period. There is certainly nothing wrong with this restaurant, but I personally feel there are better choices out there at this price-point.

Ate there once, ordered the "Husband and Wife"and "Mouth Watering Chicken" and 3 other dishes. The portions are on the small side, food was ok and rather expensive. So I decided to order takeaway via Uber eats and instructed on the message "less chili oil, more sauce" Chicken arrived in a ready meal like packing(rectangular white container with thick plastic transparent sealed from end to end). I was surprised that were no garnishes on(peanuts, chili, coriander etc). The sauce was virtually lack of flavour(slightly sour taste, no warm/spicy numbing taste). Oil was more than sauce. The beef was garnish, however, it had less than a teaspoon of sauce in the dish! Working as pan asian chef specialist chef for 16 years and ate both dishes hundreds of time in lots of places and different countries(China, Singapore, Germany, France etc) I knew what buy food containers from suppliers looked like specially from Asian supply chain. The chicken dish was definitely brought in and frozen and defrosted. To finish this dish, the establishment needs to pour more of sauce and garnish the dish. The lack of reading and understanding messages/instructions left on the box is not forgivable! The laziness of removing the brought in item and not garnishing is even worst! Both dishes are almost £20 for cold starter dishes. If you want to con your customers, be constant! I slipped its all it takes. Judging from the chicken. It makes me wonder if the establishment is cooking at all, more like reheating brought in dishes. They sold it as freshly cooked dishe and charged higher price to cover their cost. This establishment is conning customers. I WOULD AVOID AT ALL COST!

Completely empty when we came… and soon we knew it is empty for a reason… had many many Xiang and Sichuan dishes and this one is really really really average… the 辣子鸡(spicy chicken) was verrrrry dried, chili overcooked with many burnt to dark color not appetising at all… the 农家小炒肉 ( stir fried port with chili) uses very thick pork not authentic at all …. The tofu was very greasy…maybe it had it’s time I can tell you in 2024 please avoid this place… won’t come again.

I popped in for a takeaway. Very tasty dish but I was served cold food. I am sure they would have put this right, I was busy.

First ever trip to a vegan restaurant it was very nice not the best I've ever had but given it was vegan I didn't feel the need to lie down afterwards so that's definitely a plus. It would help if the menu was more informative - the menu still said 'beef' and 'shrimp' and things like that without explaining what it was which was a bit odd.

We’ve ordered from here before and always found the food to be lovely. However on this occasion our usual dishes were hotter than usual and the chicken tasted old. Quite disappointed.
