The best restaurants serving British food in North Wales

Couldn’t have been cosier, caught my eye on the way past & very glad I stopped in. Service was great, extremely accommodating and did me an early dinner in the bar so I could hike to my overnight stop. Talked me through the beer selection & made me feel at home. Lovely atmosphere & perfect hospitality. The host (I didn’t catch his name) chatted with us & it made for a great atmosphere of all tables in the bar. Would happily stay & it’s a fantastic location for mountain walks. Food was delicious & very reasonably priced (I forgot to leave a service charge & feel very guilty, couldn’t have been more deserving - please drop by and have a drink on my behalf)!! I’ll be back :)

Went for a Sunday lunch. Food was amazing! Decent portion sizes. Roast lamb was cooked perfectly. I personally would have liked my roast potatoes a bit crispier. My partner had a steak, I think it was a little bit cheeky to charge £4 extra for peppercorn sauce where most other places it is included. But this was also cooked perfectly. It was a warm, cozy atmosphere but was quite loud at times and hard to hear but would definitely go again.

Found the stag while on holiday with our little whippet last week. Susie and Darren were so lovely and welcoming, such a cozy atmosphere. Thanks for everything guys and we'll definitely be back!!

We stopped by while visiting the picturesque Hollywell, Wales, excellent food, very calm, maybe because of the late lunch time, nonetheless, it was a pleasure having lunch at this place. Highly recommend.

Stopped here for Sunday lunch, it was ok, nothing amazing. The food was served instantly which made us think it had been heated up in the microwave. Roast potatoes were very dry but the roast beef was good. Dogs are welcome and were given a treat by the staff which was a nice touch.

First time visitors here. Really brilliant place, the staff are excellent, friendly and attentive. (Especially as i was needing clarification on items that contained sugar on the vegan menu, which incidentally is one of the best menus i’ve seen so far). The food was really tasty, Great coffee. Very clean loos…This is our new haunt🥰something for everyone here. Thanks all.

Stayed overnight in my motorhome. Great food,lovely staff Super outside space stunning scenery.

Since Nigel has sold his shop the chips are awful and expensive, the ladies speak over you when you're talking which is rude , found somewhere better to get my tea from after work

Lovely food. I had The fish and chips- lovely crisp batter and triple cooked chips. Quite a large meal though. The burger came with a fresh salad and nice crispy onion rings. Everything was lovely and hot too. Dining room looks like it has recently been refurbished and was very comfortable and clean. Nice atmosphere. Well behaved dogs are welcome here too. 5 star on every thing.

Food was alright, terrible service. Bar staff looked like they were at a funeral, and someone killed their cat the day before.

Beautiful food, friendly and welcoming staff. Very accommodating and made sure our dogs had water and treats too.
