Best pub of the night! Clean tidy and a good pint!

Not sure why others have posted about staying here as it appears this place has been closed for a while and a sign is posted on the door, closed and available only by appointment. The grounds are breathtaking but neglected probably for maybe a year or two. The building is majestic from the other side of the valley.

Visited on Mother's Day for lunch. Obviously very busy but coping wonderfully. Loads of effecient and friendly staff available. Roast lamb lunch for my wife and steak for me. Both exceptional. We have visited many tes over past years but I believe they are getting better and better. Welll done folks

We Have a caravan in Town this is our go to place for Entertainment, get in early mid summer as it does get very busy

Didn’t like this pub at all. Went to sit outside on balcony area to our horror they was dog poo. Looking down in to a very run down garden area. Which was also full of dog poo. Will not be visiting again.

Been here a couple of times now. Welcoming and cozy with good quality, hearty food. Recommend.

Stayed overnight in my motorhome. Great food,lovely staff Super outside space stunning scenery.

Tonight's meal - 21/3/2025 was way below the usual standards I've experienced here. I ordered; battered burger, small battered sausage, chips, and fruity curry sauce. The chips tasted good, but the portion size was tiny. I mean really tiny!!! Maybe the new guy is not sure what's a reasonable amount??? The battered burger had been fried several times to the point of tasting cremated. I threw it in the bin as inedible! Think burnt toast taste. The sausage was just about palatable. I waited quite a while and three people were served whilst I was waiting. There was a lot of chatter going on with the lady doing the frying. Non stop, loud, chatter with a customer. Maybe focus more on not cremating food in the fryer??? The food was tepid too. Not hot like it usually is. Curry sauce tasted good though!!! But now I'm still really hungry. And there's no way of telephoning or emailing the shop to make them aware of my disappointment. I will order from here one more time and if they can resolve this issue amicably I'll review my review. After all, we all have off days. Ps: I drive 20 minutes each way to this chip shop because it's been so good in the past.

A great little pub serving fresh, flavorful Indian cuisine. The staff were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Every dish was packed with bold, authentic flavours and beautifully prepared. A perfect spot for a relaxed meal with great service and even better food.

Super friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. We had the fish and chips and it was amazing, so good infact we went back a few days later.

Fantastic Sunday roast .home made pies are outstanding

I visited family last weekend and have to say the changes the the royal are amazing since my last visit. The owners and staff were very friendly and accommodating to bruce (my german shepherd ). The bar person brought a bowl of water and treats over for my dog while I watched the football on the big screen. I visited that evening without my dog and the atmosphere was brilliant, the staff again very engaging no matter how busy they were the made time to smile and have a brief chat.

Great coffee and cake fantastic view and great service. We had flat whites and carrot cake both of which were scrumptious
