Stopped here for Sunday lunch, it was ok, nothing amazing. The food was served instantly which made us think it had been heated up in the microwave. Roast potatoes were very dry but the roast beef was good. Dogs are welcome and were given a treat by the staff which was a nice touch.

Not sure where to start. Some of the worst food I've ever had. The liver was awful and curry was an absolute disgrace. Add this unprofessional staff and embarrassingly high prices. I hate leaving 1 star reviews but this deserves nothing more. Like others have said, avoid it. It's OK for a quick pint but avoid the food.

How I wish I had read the reviews prior to eating here a very expensive lesson to learn. Whilst the staff were friendly the food was shockingly poor. Certainly not fresh and certainly not home made we left pretty much all of it on the plate the side salad consisted of limp old lettuce and a small wedge of tomato. The mushroom was slimy and left a trail of black on the plate. I asked for the gluten free option pate to start and all I received was a very small terrine of shop bought pâté limp lettuce and a small wedge of tomato for ££6.50. My gluten free burger arrived I was expecting a handmade mince burger this is not what I received it was most certainly not gluten free or home made. I cannot express how dissatisfied we were we were going to express our dissatisfaction but quickly went on trip advisor to see if there other bad reviews and how they deal with them. From previous reviews we saw the deal them very unprofessional and do not take on board constructive criticism but rather threaten to call police and are very rude we paid and left. The food is awful do not eat here.

We were stopping in the village for 3 nights at the Golden Fleece and decided to eat here one night. Wished we hadn’t. We took a table and ordered our food and waited….and waited. At one point they tried to give us an order meant for another table. Food eventually turned up after about 40 minutes just as I was getting fed up and trying to convince my husband we should leave and find somewhere else. The pub wasn’t even that busy with food orders so no idea why took so long. The food certainly wasn’t worth the wait. A lukewarm veggie burger clearly brought from a supermarket (I know as I have some of them at home!). Ate it quickly just to get out of there as this is the sort of pub that is locals only and unwelcoming for tourists. After we arrived a large group of locals arrived and proceeded to make comments about how it must be tourist season again and how if you haven’t got kids you can visit whenever you want. Certainly one way to make people uncomfortable. Would not recommend. If you want to have a meal in the village stick to the Golden Fleece. Much better food and a much more welcoming atmosphere.

Visited here with a friend for dinner. I ordered liver which came with vegetables. Unfortunately I had to send the vegetables back. The broccoli was slimy, brown and mouldy in the middle. By the time they cooked them again, I had eaten my meal. There was no money taken off our bill or even offered a coffee as an apology. We visited again on an evening which was very cold. We went to sit at the same two seat table by the window but the radiator was off so we sat on a bench with two separate tables. We were asked to sit elsewhere on a smaller table. There was no one in there. It was early and if a table of 8 had come in we would have moved. What a terrible way to treat customers who are going to spend money. We left and went elsewhere for a meal which made us feel welcome and the food lovely and fresh.

Popped in for a drink Saturday afternoon. No customers in the bar. Dog friendly. Ordered a latte but it came as a black coffee. Lady (manager/owner?) took it away and put milk in it. It was ok but not a latte. Bit too strong for me, but ok. Was given two sugars but no spoon. One female behind the bar, dressed as the Joker, was clearly annoyed at someone who had called in sick, as her language was foul. Like really foul. Ok it was only us in the room but I don’t go for a drink to hear ‘F this, F that, F her for F…. Ing calling in, if she doesn’t wanna work then F her….’ Really?!!!!! We were looking for somewhere to come back to for dinner but I thought if that’s how staff are, plus you can’t get a latte right, I’ll look elsewhere.

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to express my great disappointment and disgust with the current state of the back area of your restaurant. As a frequent visitor to your establishment, I have always enjoyed the quality of service, food, and ambiance. However, I was appalled to discover a large amount of dog feces littered throughout the back of the restaurant. This unsanitary situation is a serious health hazard, and it is unacceptable that the management has allowed it to persist. It is extremely distasteful and off-putting to encounter such filth in an establishment where one expects cleanliness and order. Furthermore, as a pet owner myself, I understand the importance of responsible pet ownership, which includes cleaning up after one's pet. It is imperative that you take immediate action to rectify this situation by cleaning up the area and implementing better measures to prevent it from happening in the future. I trust that you will take the appropriate steps to rectify this situation as quickly as possible, to ensure the safety and well-being of your customers and employees. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, [steven]

We visited the Union Inn in Tremadog on two occasions whilst staying in nearby Porthmadog. We drove here and there is street parking available in the ‘Market Square’ but this is limited though we were fortunate to get parked on both visits. The Union Inn is a large traditional looking public house with two separate bars and a small restaurant area to the rear. We formed the opinion that one of the bars is for the ‘locals’ and the second for visitors to the area. On our first visit we reserved a table for two and sat in the restaurant area and this is very light and pleasant. The menu is fairly comprehensive with a good choice of pub classics and also some more substantial meals, my wife had the Mushroom Stroganoff and I had the Three Bean chilli. Both meals came in a reasonable time after ordering and were of a good portion size likely to satisfy most appetites. For dessert we had the fruit crumble, again of a good portion size. The bar has a good selection of drinks and some ales from the local brewery went down well with the meal. The staff that we came into contact with were helpful and approachable. We enjoyed our visit here and so chose to return the following evening, this time without a booking and was fortunate enough to be squeezed into a table in the bar area. We would certainly consider coming here again if we were to revisit the area.

What a wicked, evil woman! Chicken that bled, ignored when I complained to the 12 year old waiter. After 20 mins the manageress arrived and accused me of making a fuss and swearing at the child waiter. I was so upset that this was said as it was totally untrue. I asked for the bill as she charged me £86 for 2 starters and 4 soft drinks. I told her that I was as not paying this and she threatened me with the police and called me a typical scouse robber. I have never been so appalled. I told her to get the police as I had evidence of the food and her abuse, she screamed at us including my young kids to get out amongst a load of obscenities. I have never in my life been so verbally abused, but I have since discovered that this is her forte, especially with the threat of the police. Please be warned. Stay away from the Union Inn!!!!

Never felt so unwelcome. We lasted all of 3mins inside this place. We were the first people through the door at 5pm. A family of four looking for an evening meal, the place was empty. The rude staff on two occasions instructed us that we could only sit in a particularly old dingy and dirty table for 4, even though we could see an area that looked much cleaner. We were literally made to feel like second class citizens. Everything felt old dirty and unwelcoming. We therefore went over the road to ‘The Golden Fleece’ and although all there tables were marked as reserved they made us feel very welcome, explained that they needed the table back at set time (no issues) and found us a lovely table. Whole place was really clean and food was great. Glad we got up and walked out of the ‘Union Inn’ (never been made to feel more uncomfortable in my life. Stay well away.

After driving from pub to pub for a hour and being told the kitchens closed or they are only dog friendly outside, we found this beauty. Staff are welcoming and friendly! Obviously they are dog friendly inside too! Food was lovely! Quick and Hot food....

A fabulous traditional bar that oozes atmosphere and history. Bar is so cosy and even on wet, dark Sunday night, was packed with mix of locals and visitors. Ordered filled Yorkshire pudding and was disappointed but was very late, so think missed the best.

New managers went above and beyond and it’s great to see the pub open again. Good luck and we’ll be back next time we’re in the area!

Spent 2 great nights at this hotel with a group of friends for a mountain biking weekend. The location is great and the customer service is excellent. We had dinner here the first night and the food was absolutely brilliant. Breakfast every morning was amazing and the staff go above and beyond! Wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place if you are in the area. Oh and the Ales are very nice too!
