We had a very positive and tasty experience at The Ship Inn when we found ourselves needing something to eat before our next hike. Highlights: • Dog friendly inside. Our dog made himself welcome under the table and snoozed during our meal. • Lots of choice on the menu, with what a rotation of specials daily. • Friendly and welcoming team on arriving and throughout. • Big portion sizes for all aspects of the meal which was great pre-hike. • Clean and bright interior. Love the clear seaside theme! • Board games, darts, pool, and old-school game machine all available too We'd love to come again all year round ☀️

Honestly if this is your local pub, you are so lucky!! We popped in this evening in the hope of finding a lovely cosy pub with great food (that was open, a difficult thing to find this time of year). And what a find!! Such a warm welcome when we entered, the owner, absolutely amazing, friendly, welcoming and chatty even though he was rushed off his feet. Dog friendly around the whole pub which was amazing, the pub itself was warm, cosy, clean and with a beach theme, which is my favourite....and the food! I tip my hat to the chef, absolutely amazing, beautiful homemade pizzas, massive portions, the tastiest homemade chips I've had in years and proper onion rings! If this was my local, i would be in every day. We will definitely return next time we are in the area! And to the owner, you're doing amazing after only a year and I hope the Calzone queen is on the mend 😊

Best dog friendly pub we’ve ever ate in. The owners and staffs hospitality was phenomenal. Lovely cosy atmosphere to go along side great tasting home made pub food. Reasonably priced. Would certainly recommend to anyone holidaying in the area. Great place to unwind in the evening after an afternoon beach walk. We had a fantastic experience at The Ship Inn in Llanbedrog. We spent New Year’s Eve & New Year’s Day at the pub. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The owner went above and beyond to ensure we had a great visit, making us feel right at home. This pub truly caters to everyone – even dogs are welcome, which is always a bonus. Our children loved the variety of games available, keeping them entertained throughout the meal. It’s a perfect spot for families, and we can’t recommend it highly enough. If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely be returning. Thank you for such a memorable visit!

He made a real effort to engage with the children and us. He went out of his way to accommodate us and spent time talking to us on New Year’s Eve. We felt extremely welcome and we would say this is the best pub in Wales. Scott, Jenna, Thomas, Ella and Eva the dog, who was happily accommodated. There is a good selection of ales and gins.

When asked main waiter to take my plate after another 10min waiting- (gentleman with white bird), - I had very cold responce and feeling of unwelcome...my partner finished his dinner he liked and was left hungry with unwelcome feeling.....

We were staying at The Willows, just up the road, so called in for lunch. Nice dog friendly pub, with large dining area and tables outside. Unfortunately did we visit the Ship Inn not until the evening before we left the Pwllheli area to head back to Germany. The innkeeper and the staff made us immediately feel welcome, and they were really friendly and answered all our questions patiently. The menu is comparably extensive with a variety of really great dishes. For the first time in two weeks (!), all of us - even the children - were really happy with their choice of starters and the main courses. Our compliments to the chef! If it weren''t for a 16 hour trip, we would definitely come back again. Thank you! Following an extended and damp walk, we visited the establishment with the intention of partaking in tea, only to discover that they were fully booked, which is understandable. Given the location and time of year, I should have anticipated this outcome. However, our bedraggled appearance, akin to that of "drowned rats," elicited sympathy, and a table was graciously made available to us. The subsequent food and service were exceptional. We savored the minted lamb burger, which undoubtedly ranks as the finest lamb burger I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. We have been going to the Ship for years and noticed things going downhill before it changed hands. So much so that we took it off our guest recommendations at our holiday home. Fast forward to May this year and we braved a visit, after seeing that it had changed hands and had good reviews. We had an amazing meal, it was reinstated on the list and we told everyone what a great meal we had. We booked for this evening and I was looking forward to dinner out as a treat. Something which I mentioned last time we went in was the lack of a clear area to wait to be seated. It used to be near the door but nobody is there so we drifted closer to the bar to ask and our table was pointed out. After 20 minutes we hadn’t been given menus or asked for drinks. I went to the bar where two staff were chatting. I asked if we ordered drinks at the table or bar and he looked blank. I said I didn’t mind ordering at the bar as they were busy. I was given a dirty glass which he changed without a problem. I then asked if we could have menus to order food. None came and so we went over to ask Mike who was rather abrupt. I’ve come to realise that this is his way and don’t take anything by it. He then arrived with menus and said ‘Sorry, I didn’t realise you were in such a hurry’. At that point with a 7 year old well past tea time we should have left but didn’t. We ordered without a problem and food eventually came, most of which was lovely (steak tough). Despite staff sauntering around, our dirty plates stayed on the table for over 20 minutes. My daughter wanted dessert but I couldn’t face trying to track a menu down so we settled the bill and left. The young lady who served us was on her first shift and was brilliant, a little nervous but did everything right and we made sure we gave her that feedback personally. The continued lack of staff here is a worry and other tables looked restless trying to attract someone’s attention. If Mike addresses his customers like they are an inconvenience then goodness knows what the staff get. We love The Ship but felt really let down by tonight’s experience.

Incredible food. Service can be a bit slow but I think this is because the kitchen is small and they want to avoid it being overwhelmed. 4 times we have now driven out to this place. Ok the first time was before 12 so that was our fault. 2nd time shut notice on door staff issues closed, 3rd time we went after 12 closed sign saying 12.30 opening. Just been again and now sign say closed electrical fault. So we certainly won’t be returning for a 5th time that’s for sure. And I guess you need to update in google your exact opening times!

Great pub serving a good range of traditional type meals plus good pizzas. Lovely staff. Very accommodating when we arrived bedraggled from the rain with two wet children after the half hour walk up from the beach. Also, I must mention the games. They have a formidable games shelf with I think more games than I've ever seen in any pub. We could happily have bunkered down for a few hours given the chance.

The owner is an absolute gentleman, excellent service and the food was some of the best we have had in north wales. I recommend phoning ahead to book a table inside, but honestly if you can’t get a table, the outside catering menu is sublime so you will leave happy either way. Don’t miss the opportunity to stop by here if you can, wonderful experience!

Fantastic pub, really friendly staff and good service. On arrival I asked about options for GF (GLUTEN FREE) straight away I was asked, are you gluten intolerant or Coeliac? This was extremely reassuring to me that this pub was prepared for gluten free. The food was great the gluten free fish and chis was amazing and great portion. The sunday 3 meat roast in an 8" Yorkshire pudding was also delicious, and it was a very kid Friendly spot. There were small table games available for kids to play whilst waiting for food, as well as a playground. There is plenty of parking and access for prams is excellent.

It seems like a nice quiet pub in Llanbedrog just on the edge of the countryside as you are coming out of the village. They had a good selection of ales and beers. Unfortunately they weren't doing food whilst I was there, so will have to come back to try it out. They have a large well equipped beer garden that's a bit of a suntrap and a nice place to spend an afternoon with a nice view of the countryside. Came back to try the food out. Ordered the Chicken burger and sausage chips and peas. We had to wait a while, but the manager explained the staff problems they were having and I must admit he had excellent customer service skills so didn't mind the wait. The food was really good and we enjoyed it.

Very expensive, £14.75 for a gin & tonic and a pint. Landlord very obnoxious, menu very drab, apart from a few specials. The whole place smells of old fat.

If you’re looking for a good honest , tasty Sunday dinner , this place takes some beating. My wife and I both had the roast lamb and it was delicious. All the trimmings and veg cooked perfectly and the gravy was beautiful. The young staff were very polite and very efficient. Will definitely be returning.

Booked this hotel last minute after an Airbnb nightmare. The staff were all lovely, the food was great, and we loved the old school feeling of the building, can’t fault our stay.
