Robinsons have destroyed what was once a great pub. The place has either been run by incompetents or has lain empty for months on end. Currently it's been over a year with no landlord/landlady, the pub was filthy and falling to bits BEFORE this long run of vacancy. Sad to see such a popular village pub fall foul of a useless brewery.

Great pub, lots of character, friendly bar staff and locals. Big beer garden too. Had a great overnight here. Recommend the lamb shank. The chef kindly subbed the veg for chips and peas too. Will definitely call again👍 **update Oct 22** unfortunately closed /closing due to unsustainable energy price rates. This was a cracking pub!

Nice enough pub for a drink,BUT, as for food, a bit hit or miss. Might be because it was out of holiday season but went on a Wednesday, no food ,then went for a Sunday roast as advertised , no Sunday roast. 2rd October. Had a curry instead. Not what I wanted but tasted OK.

Terrible experience. Firstly, we ordered four bowls of chips, which came with a dish full of out of date sauces by one year. Next, our dog had bit one of our family members so we asked for some vodka to put on the cut. BUT, the manager, chef, hillbilly person wouldn’t let us have a tiny bit of vodka if we didn’t pay for it first and then also saying that the sauces isn’t his problem and he doesn’t care. Finally, as we were leaving he was outside making a mess complaining about family members number plates and arguing with family members too. DO NOT RECOMMEND AND NOT GOING AGAIN !!

We stayed overnight in the campervan it was very peaceful and got some great views. Toilets could have been a little bit better, the seat was broken and no lights in there, but it was useable with an head torch and the price was more than reasonable. Booked weeks in advance to be told on arrival that it was closed on Mondays. No mention of that at all upon booking. We had also booked a night of camping with them, as had another camper van which turned up at the same time, but absolutely no facilities available due to the pub's closure. Owners/landlord totally unhelpful and not bothered about our predicament. We left to try and secure an alternative dog friendly campsite before dark. Would certainly not recommend.

We booked here for a meal this evening and we will never be visiting the place again.. We would also recommend everyone else staying well clear of this place. The whole place was tired looking and not very appealing. The food took an age to come out and it was not worth the wait. I had the rump steak which to be fair was ok, the peppercorn I can only describe as being a packet cheese sauce with peppercorns stuck in it. The whole family smelt it and it stunk of cheese so it wasn't just my smell. The chips were clearly straight out of the freezer and not great. If you wanted to season your food you had to use the tiny little packets of salt provided on the table, we only had two on our table and had to go searching the other tables for some more. Fair enough this is probably because of covid but at least make sure there is enough on each table, no need to ration them. The rest of the family had a terrible meal also and i let the manager know how disappointed we were. The manager at that point told me it was a matter of opinion and that I was the first person ever to complain. (Hard to believe with some of the bad reviews on here). The manager was so rude and just plain aggressive towards me and said “what do you want then while looking down at the till”. I replied with “the bill has already been paid in full”, at this point Jackie the general manager said ok and said she would like me to get out of her pub. I have never been spoken to in this way before, especially as a paying customer. Please stay away from this pub unless they have a change of chef or at least hire a chef instead of a microwave. They also most definitely need a new manager otherwise they wont be staying open for much longer with her terrible behaviour. Edit: In reply to the managers comments, I would also say that she is a deluded liar. The quality of our food was brought to the attention of the very good young waitress before the bill was paid and I then spoke to the manager at the table before the bill was paid. The manager was extremely rude at the table and despite the poor food and terrible attitude of the manager we paid the bill with no qualms. We merely brought to her attention the poor quality of the food we ate, a microwave meal from Tesco's would have been better. I went to the bar before leaving and asked to speak to the manager again and spoke to her calmly and in no way aggressive. I stated that i didn’t appreciate being spoken to the way she did and that her attitude was terrible. She clearly could not take any constructive criticism and straight away saw us as liars and out to get her shall we say. As you say people are entitled to have an opinion and any good pub/bar, restaurant/take away would normally welcome feedback whether it be negative or positive. The pub is indeed in a lovely location but I'm afraid will never full-fill its potential with you at the helm.

We came here for a meal on a Saturday evening at 6pm. We'd already read reviews on trip advisor, so weren't expecting much but thought we'd give it a go. Unfortunately the recent reviews lived up to expectation. We sat down in the 'restaurant' which seemed to also be used as a function room. We were the only ones in there which wasn't great for a Saturday evening. It was dark and lacked atmosphere, even some background music would've helped. The food was very tasteless and appeared to be cooked from frozen. The price also didn't reflect the quality as it was actually quite expensive for what we got.Overall we were disappointed. The only thing this place has going for it is the staff - they were very polite and welcoming.

Came with my Dad, asked for 2 camemberts to start but ended up with one between us which was basically 3 small breaded cheese cubes. Which didn't seem like much, would probably have been fine if we actually got the order was asked. Then had the mushroom risotto, which was nice, but didn't seem like much of a serving so I ended up getting a portion of fries before leaving. Then somebody at a table opposite us ended up getting camembert, and this may sound pathetic but he had 4 cheese bits... Did leave the place feeling a bit annoyed

I’m not sure when the new owners took over this pub but you would hope that someone who takes over one of the best position pubs in north wales would have a passion for making it the best pub it could possibly be. Unfortunately this is not the case. Maybe they haven’t started doing it up yet. Anywhere else this would be packed and have a fantastic menu, but it has got worse. The food was never its strong point but it’s just adequate now. I liked the risotto (although my partner thought it too cheesy and creamy) and the chicken curry was tasty, although the rice had been cooked a long time before. The deep fried Camembert had been fried too long and were just breadcrumb shells. What wasn’t good though was the garden - I’m really hoping that it’s sorted for next spring. The tables are rotting and surrounded by litter, the play area condemned (one of the main reasons why we come here) and there was clouds of weed smoke drifting around the place. The glass of cider I had had a slick of lipstick on - not ideal at the best of times, let alone covid, but they gave me a new fresh one. I would love this pub to change into the pub it deserves due to its stunning views- please everyone try to persuade the current people running it to make it excellent or get out.

Given this awful time all businesses are having it makes me sad writing this. I. Stencil gave a small business. We are a family of 5. We struggled to find nice places to eat around snowden. My husband booked this. We called as we forgot the time and the guy he spoke to couldn’t find our booking. I called back and eventually it was found. We arrived to be seated in a dusty corner full of cobwebs and really is was a table fir 3 max 4 but not a family if 5. It was terribly lit but still could see all the cobwebs. We ordered ...our risotto was awful. The mushrooms were chewy and just nasty. No one came back to ask how our food was. We finished and waited 40 minutes ..no one came ..no one to ask how food was not take plates away. Having two young children they were getting agitated and really wanted a desert. Yet no one came. In the end we got up and my family left whilst I went to till and asked where to pay. The lady took my bill which was 50% off with the eat out scheme. It was £35 however I wouldn’t have paid the £70 if it was full price!! She didn’t ask me how food was ..how anything was. I stated the above comments and all she said was ‘oh sorry’. We have no issue paying and helping small businesses but the lack of customer care in an already sparse restaurant area was shocking

There was no social distancing, the staff did not take any extra precautions with face masks or anything. The food was disgusting swimming in oil! We all had upset stomachs for 2 days after! The coleslaw looked like the mayo was off so did not eat it. The menu was crap if you don't like burgers then there wasn't much else. The service was ok, we only received our cutlery when we received our food there was constant singing and shouting from the kitchen so was very annoying! overall was a unpleasant visit and definitely would not visit again!

Saturday 2 November 2019, my husband and I went with a friend to The Brondanw Arms at Llanfrothen, this was our first visit. The pub was jam packed and had a very lively atmosphere. Our friend had booked at table here for 7.30pm. We arrived and was shown to our table and were given menus to look at. After making our choices we went up to the bar to order our food. The food when it arrived was well presented and piping hot. I and our friend had the battered cod and chips served with mushy peas and a crispy side salad. The fish was sublime and the batter was crisp and dry, with no sogginess at all, it was really delicious and a very large portion. My husband had the braised lamb served with new potatoes and seasonal vegetables, which he said was very nice and very filling. We washed all this lovely food down with pints of 'Cascade' bitter for my husband and our friend and I had a large glass of rose wine. We did not bother with desserts as we were all well fed and contented. The bill for the meal was very reasonable. This is a nice pub to visit if you are in the area.

Although this wasn’t stated on the menu.My partner had gammon and said that her tomatoes and chips tasted like this also. The waitress consulted the kitchen to see if I could get another portion but the chef came back and said that I was made like that in one big tray with only 1 layer of pasta as a base (which I couldn’t find) and 1 as a lid!! Not so good at all. £11.50 for a chicken curry which didn't taste like an Indian Curry OR a Chinese Curry. Chicken stringy, and a very small portion. Compared to Barnacles in Llandudno which costs about £9 and is the best tasting curry ever with huge chunks of melt in the mouth chicken, this meal was abysmal. My husband had beef and ale pie. It was a good portion with lots of beef but the meat was dried out around the edges of the pie. To add insult to injury we were overcharged almost £4. We went over the bill and received a refund.

We have been going to this pub for many years (40) mainly for the atmosphere and food. However, on this occasion it was a complete disaster, we had arranged to meet up with some friends who were on holiday in the area for a meal. When we arrived our friends warned us about the dirty glasses they had been served their drinks in and the beer tasted off. (Glasses were dirty and beers were not great). However, I put these concerns aside and asked for the menus, the special offers which are falsely advertised on the website were taped over and not available so we had to choose from the main meals the “Ring Burgers” arrived burnt on one side and under cooked on the other. The curry consisted of a bowl of watery sauce with some chicken thrown in as an after thought, the scampi dish was edible to a point but only just. All in all a very poor experience. This establishment now bares no resemblance to its warm and welcoming ambience of the past. To top it all, little or no attention to customer service.

We recently enjoyed a very good meal at this very pleasant cosy pub. Situated in the Snowdonia National Park but quite close to the village of Penrhyn. Well worth a visit if you're in the area 😊

Cosy country pub inside with open fires for a cold night after a long walk, didn't try the food but it smelt & looked wonderful. The views from the huge beer garden are amazing!! Definitely worth a visit just to see that!! Good selection of beers too!!!

We visited this pub on Saturday evening. It was very cosy and we sampled the local beer. We ordered our food and I wanted the chickpea curry with rice. None of this silly half rice half chips for a good Yorkshire girl like me. The food arrived and I had half and half. I said that i had wanted rice. They exchanged it quickly and the gentleman who took our order said that the kitchen staff had not been able to read his writing! The food was lovely and I really enjoyed it. I then ordered the Belgian Waffles with cream. It arrived with ice cream and had to be sent back. I was the only one of our table of 5 to have any ordering issues. However, it is a bit unsettling that it happend twice to me and it wasn't even a tricky order.Anyway I would visit again but you lost a star because of the silly mistakes you made.

On a sunny afternoon you can’t beat the beer garden out the back. Great views of the mountains towards Beddgelert and somewhere to keep the kids busy!

Booked a few days ago, stated about being celiac (been before, was great then, but not for a while).Turned up this evening, no large bottles of prosecco (a must!) They had no specific gluten free menu but listed what I could have as long as I didn't have the onion rings with them...I ordered the pork rib, was told comes in bbq sauce, gluten free - came with no sauce and when queried got told was cooked in soya sauce!!! (Contains wheat/gluten).Took away while my friend was left to eat alone. Chef came out stroppy, I ended up with a plate of chips and some bbq sauce which he wouldn't promise gluten free!!! Service awful, supplies lacking (heard others told they didn't have quite a few things) it was one of my go to places when friends are up visiting, but never again!I've been visiting for 10 years, never again! DO NOT GO THERE!!!
