Heard someone saying how good the food was in this pub so I decided to visit, I wasn't prepared for the setting I could sit for hours by the stream that flows past the pub, had lamb kedai, it was superb and I've eaten curries from Birmingham to brick lane, the lamb was lean and soft perfectly cooked the curry tasted amazing, I like hot and it was hot so maybe ask them to cool it down if you don't like that burn in your mouth for half hour afterwards. It's also a vibrant lively pub with plenty of locals having a good time, exactly what I was looking for !!

Having taken the dogs out for run, we agreed beforehand to grab some lunch and a pint. The ale was a cask beer and much to liking. Looking at the menu it was South Asian with a a couple of non Asian foods. I was going for fish and chips when I saw the Gurkha curry no brainer for me. It was superb, very flavoursome and brought back memories of over 40 years ago. The staff were cheerful and friendly and not overbearing. Would I go again? yes I would

Only used for the public bar. Assume rooms must be nice as its a very popular eateries and wedding venue. Apparently famous locally for its Indian cuisine. Not my kind of thing but there were a few people in for meals. On an otherwise very quiet Tuesday in the village, the place was lively. Friendly service from the owner, locals hospitable. Highly recommended.

Food and I’ve got to say it the best Indian food I have had since moving to Wales. The food came out nicely presented and piping hot the curry was great and the nan bread was perfect. Sunday dinner was also served and the family said it was really nice also nice and relaxing atmosphere. It’s an honest review and I will be returning. 😎 Thanks visited Sunday 16 June 24 1pm

A booking was made several weeks ago for a weekend in May. We planned well in advance and made our booking in good faith, even though the reviews aren’t brilliant. This week we received an email stating they could not accommodate us they had over booked. Rubbish!! as there were other rooms available when we booked. I would certainly never trust the owners/managers of this establishment. So don’t trust them with your booking. Plus my booking is still showing live on Booking.com

Honestly one of the best curries I’ve ever had. We have the chicken tikka masala, bhajis, lamb chops, peshwari naan, pilau rice, and salt & pepper chicken (it’s indo-Chinese) and absolutely all of them were perfect and delicious. The owners / staff and very friendly! They’ve turned a pub I’ve been to many times, which had pretty average food, into a hidden gem! (Also it had darts and pool too you can’t go wrong)

We're frequent visitors to the Fairy Falls as it is local, and dog friendly. It's recently changed hands, and the new owners have made some positive changes, including to the seating layout. At present the menu is mainly curry oriented, and caters for meat and vegetarian (and GF) diners. We went at tea time and ordered mains, rice and naan, and everything was truly delicious. Our food was beautifully seasoned, very well presented, and there was a lot of it - hungry hill walkers will not be disappointed by portion sizes. We ate in the bar areas, with our two dogs, and a bowl of water arrived for them with our drinks, which was appreciated. Highly recommended, and a nice addition to the already very good dining options in Trefriw.

This has been our go to pub on the way home from Wales for years the Sunday dinners were absolutly amazing, we booked not knowing it was now an Indian restaurant and no longer a traditional pub. When we arrived the feel was totally different huge TVs on the walls felt odd. They however still serve a Sunday lunch giving 2 options beef or chicken, however they don't cater for vegans/ vegaterians. As an alternative I was offered a vegetable curry. My hubby was so hungry but we had a drink and left, gutted need to find a new pub.

The food (Indian) was first class. BUT we booked for 6.30 the downstairs room, this was a 30th birthday party with babies, children, and about 25 adults. about an HOUR later a small starter was presented. At NO TIME was water/jugs offered at the table. At 9.10 I went into the main part of the pub to find our main meal, I found the bar not attended and someone about 28 who was playing pool, asked "You O.K." "NO I AM NOT". "My Party is hungry the children/ babies are tired and hungry, whats going on" ! Well he came downstairs waved his arms about, and without any word to me, AT ALL left, back to finish his game of pool, no doubt. The food arrived some 15 minutes later, about THREE HOURS after we arrived. During this time the downstairs bar was mostly unattended and many "beer" sales were lost, the pub upstairs was 75% empty no doubt the pool table was busy ! Lastly I was charged £28.95 for a cheap screw top bottle of £5.00 wine which was an insult. If I had not paid "Up Front" I would have left. VERDICT - BAD MANAGERMENT - I expect this pub to fail, again. Pity it could be so much better !

Initially the pub and surroundings looked good when we arrived. Room wasn't ready but no issue with that. Finally given out room which we paid £100.00 for and was quite shocked looked nothing like on the website. In dire need of an update, everything was like 1970s and the bed was awful. Had lunch which was okay so decided to have dinner there. Ordered pate for starters which came out runny not firm but was told that's how it's made. Had steak for main which was okay. Overall experience was shocking won't be going there again.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my little dog. Booked a double room but when I got there got a bigger triple room at no extra cost. Room was clean and bed very comfy. Paid for breakfast and bad full English every day which was really nice. At night ate in the sports bar. Menu was limited as quiet this time of year so I'm sure a lot more choices during busier periods. Food was really nice and plentiful. The pub was quite unusual in that if you went in the front entrance it was a traditional old style pub but if you went in the back it was a modern sports bar. Staff and locals were very friendly and made a big fuss of my dog which was nice. The two members of staff who I saw were also very helpful too telling me where locally to walk with my dog. The accommodation is actually separate from the pub. Parking was really good and plenty of spaces. I would definitely recommend staying and eating here and would definitely stay here again.

Looking for a place for our dinner, we found this very nice and clean furnished restaurant, very cosy and friendly atmosphere. At the beginning still relatively alone, but in the course of the evening the restaurant filled up quite a bit. And rightly so! The Fairy Falls is partly part of the regional cuisine, but the level at which the food is prepared and served is quite a bit higher. There is no doubt that you can eat well here, and after several dinners in pubs, it was good to find a restaurant that serves more varied food than just fried food, and where you are also served at the table as in a restaurant. Moreover, the restaurant attaches importance to ingredients (vegetables, fruit, meat, coffee, ...) from the local area. A lot of praise also goes to the staff, during our visit especially to the two young girls who looked after the guests in the restaurant courteously and always with a smile. Everything seems to be just right in this house! Absolutely recommended! In the basement there is also a "sports bar" where you can play billiards or darts after dinner (or independently of the restaurant visit) or alternatively end the evening with a drink.

We have just returned after a 3 night stay at Fairy Falls Hotel for my husband’s birthday along with our cocker spaniel. Our upstairs room was lovely - large and pleasant modern decor. There was a King size bed, a decent sized wall mounted tv, a kettle with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. The hotel is just 5 minutes walk (up the hill via the road opposite the pub) from the Fairy Falls. It’s only a 20 minute drive into Conwy and an excellent dog friendly beach at Conwy Morfa. There is also another dog friendly beach a few minutes drive from Conwy at Deganwy and a little further afield up the coast at Colwyn bay. We had dinner at the restaurant on site all three nights and everything we had was excellent quality. There were a few menu items not available at the time, but there was plenty of choice and so it was easy to find an appealing alternative. All the staff and the owners were friendly and very helpful during our stay. We will definitely be returning, as there is plenty to see and do in this part of north Wales, and this is a great base from which to do so.

So good we visited twice.Staying on holiday nearby we were looking for a dog friendly place to eat. There was a recommendation for The Fairy Falls and we're so glad we took it. The lady on the phone was happy to book us a table, and when we got there the service was very friendly from all the staff. They were happy for our dog to sit in the restaurant and came to say hello to her.The menu is great with a lot of choices. We struggled to chose, which isn't a bad thing! And we were all very pleased with our meals (with two adults and two children this isn't always the case). Steak dish, pasta dish, pie and fish fingers. All cooked well and tasted amazing. The desserts were awesome too. Everyone was happy. It was fairly quite when we arrived at 5pm but for busier and was almost full when we left at 7, so seemed popular. The music is a quite pop-y for a restaurant, but not off putting and quite a nice change to come places. We loved it so much here we requested to come back two nights later. Somehow the waiter must have gotten the wrong date as there was no reservation in the diary when we arrived the second time. However the owner very kindly arranged a table for us last minute in the bar section. And again everyone enjoyed their meals. We'll definitely be coming here if we visit the area again. Thank you for all the lovely food and great service. One of best pub restaurants we've been to!

The food here is tasty (the chips in particular!) and while vegans are catered for, I would say that a vegan starter option would have been nice, and the vegan burger on offer could do with a little something added to it. But the vegan chilli was really delicious! The menu is catered more for non vegans (as most places still are) but if you don't eat meat then I would def recommend the chilli. They didn't have any diet soft drinks which I thought was odd - being a pub, surely diet coke/pepsi should be an option? But it's not the end of the world. Overall, this place has a really nice feel, and staff are very attentive. Also love that it's dog friendly!

We booked to stay here over New Year as we wanted to experience some walks and Bounce Below with our young daughter which is located nearby. The accommodation isn’t available until 4pm which was stated, the pub doesn’t open until 4pm either so there is no chance of getting in sooner, this wasn’t so much of a problem despite our long drive from Suffolk as we took the dog for a walk for a couple of hours. On entering the pub to check in, we were greeted by a nice young man, he gave us the key and told us what chalet was ours.We went to a ground floor level room. The rooms are basic which we were expecting due to the price, however the level of cleanliness we were not. I’m really afraid to say the room wasn’t particularly clean. On the bedside table there was sticky residue from a spilt drink, the bathroom floor was dirty. One of the reasons we booked this place was that they were dog friendly which I know is hard to come by, however the dog was really interested in something near my daughters bed... when we looked behind the chest of drawers next to the bed the dust and dirt behind it was quite shocking, along with what the dog was interested in which was half eaten biscuits.Unfortunately the whole room just felt tired and grubby. We had had a long day and decided to give the pub a go for dinner. The pub is fine, the upholstery on the bench seats has seen better days but inside its fine. The loud music from the jukebox is off putting as there is other music playing in the dining area of the bar, however the jukebox music overpowers it which is unfortunate. Maybe it was just the choice of music, however it was really loud. The landlady is really lovely and welcoming and even though there was a limited menu of just Burgers or Pies the food was really nice and home cooked and presented nicely, We all really enjoyed the meal. We arrived on the 30th Dec and that night we were woke up around 11.30pm by a loud group of young people coming up the stairs and into the room directly above ours... It went on into the small hours on and off as though they were coming in and out of the room every 30 mins or so. Unfortunately for us I don’t think they were trying to be annoying to other guests, however the walls are thin and the slamming of the door and walking over the floor above kept myself my husband and my daughter awake. We had booked breakfast the following morning and again the landlady was nice and the food was lovely ! We had a fried breakfast and it was plentiful and well presented. We were informed that with it being NYE there would be no breakfast available on NYD as they were expecting the evening to go on late and to be fairly noisy. This didn’t come as shock to us especially after the night before and for a pub is obviously totally understandable, we were slightly dreading the noise but being NYE we wouldn’t have expected anything less. We spent the evening on NYE in the pub down the road as we thought it might be too loud in the pub for our daughter. It was really loud when the other guests returned to the room above again much later on NYE but what can you do. At least that night my husband and daughter slept through it.We were out all day NYD and arrived back at the pub around 4pm, both my husband and I couldn’t bare to spend another night with the loud noise in the grubby room with no Wi-Fi so we decided to cut our losses and drive the 5 hours home and get to sleep in our own beds.Ive got to say that we were disappointed with the cleanliness, and the noise.... this pub has so much potential with the accommodation and the really lovely food and hospitality. We understand from other reviews its been taken over fairly recently so maybe all of this is in the pipeline however in the short term I would really recommend a deep clean of the accommodation. It can be basic and cheap without being unclean.I’m not sure about the noise... its a difficult one but maybe organise guests and put families on the upper floors as the disruption would be less to other guests. The pub is in a beautiful location and town, and the landlady was really nice and food good, so if you can put up with the jukebox music give the food in the pub a go as its really nice after a long day walking.

This establishment has seen many changes over the last few years and is now run by a family who are doing a very good job!Excellent basic pub food that was far better than I expected. High quality steaks at very good prices compared to pubs in the south of England, with really good service to boot. This place was good enough to go back twice more when we stayed for a week, and I will certainly visit again next time in Trefriw.

I am local to the village and by now we’ve been here several times. Today for the first time we all had the Sunday Lunch. It was faultless. I personally begrudge paying for food I can cook better at home. This dinner had the homed cook taste, but was better than home cooked! I am perplexed at the occasional negative review .

Lovely meal as usual. It's great to see the new owners really making the effort. Service fantastic as always. I highly recommend everyone goes here for food. Nothing is to much trouble. Look forward to going again.

A group of four of us made the mistake of eating here. We were given menus which mirrored what we had seen on line only to be told "we only have pies and burgers and two of the pies are not available". It had been a long day so we pressed ahead and ate what was quite poor food. The burgers were overcooked, the chips were dry and too thick and the salad had less life than a dead corpse. The service was ordinary and the table looked like it could do with a good clean. Next time I am in this part of the world, I will give this place a swerve. However, the butcher just down the road provided fantastic meat for the B-B-Q we had a few days later.

As we stayed at the hotel, we dined at the restaurant. The table service was excellent, and the menu had a good range from pies, burgers, salads all bases covered and reasonable prices. The fish & chips, the mushroom burger and the homemade pies - all decent portions for the price, very well presented and tasted excellent! Thank you Chef! For a small village, we were very surprised how busy this place was for a Monday night! The locals are friendly and pub is old and traditional .. thoroughly recommend!

Tvs and loud music blaring paired with mediocre chain drinks make this unremarkable unless you enjoy squeezing past drunk locals. Outside youths chain smoke by the entrance. The Ship down the road is much nicer.

We popped in on a Saturday evening so it was pretty lively and busy. Nevertheless, service was great and we didn’t need to go to the bar to order food and drink. The food arrived quite quickly and I was impressed with the quality and the size of the portions, which were generous. Prices were also good - around £10-£12 for many dishes. Special mention for the coleslaw, which was delicious! Also serves my favourite Beer - Black Sheep! Dog friendly, too. Recommended.

Food choices limited but ok. Went here on Monday night because our preferred choice is The Old Ship which is closed on Monday. Went here last year and it is definitely improving. From time loud music was a bit over powering which is a shame. They face a difficult choice about not changing too much and losing local customers but at same time making it better for tourists in the area.

We had been told by our b&b; the place has just been taken over and it used to be a bit of a dump, we walked in and straight away we got a nice smile and warm welcome from the landlady it’s a nice old school pub, plenty of friendly locals who are happy to chat whilst we wait for our drinks, ordered some food which was outstanding so much better than normal pub grub, the Guinness was spot on so don’t know what the other reviewers are on about.

We came to the restaurant for an early dinner. The view and the interior were lovely. Menu was limited - sadly we couldn’t find any chicken dishes (not in a sandwich). I ordered beef brisket - it was served as a sandwich in between two ciabatta slices. It was soft, but the taste was sweet due to the chutney, and very disgusting due to the blue cheese. It wasn’t specified clearly, so I was hoping this cheese would be served separately and I just wouldn’t eat it, but nope, it was inside. The taste was very very bad. And the price was £14. Chips were served without any sauce, and no sauce was offered by the staff. So, it was very dry. Coffee was very bad and sour, had to ask for some milk to mix it together. Pavlova dessert for £8.50 was my biggest disappointment. It should be called micro-Pavlova. It’s the tiniest Pavlova I’ve ever seen, and so overpriced! Overall, can’t recommend - neither for the drinks, nor especially for food. Service charge 10% was already included into the price.

Seemed good cleaning practices. Staff friendly and polite. However, will NEVER visit again, the food appeared good and hot other than the ham sandwich and side salad which was of course cold, severe food poisoning followed, my wife is a chef and previously owned a lovely country pub never had a complaint in 8 years, always spot on reviews. You guys need to up your game on the cold food, I am considering legal advise, I'm always sorry to give bad reviews because I love to support businesses in Cymru. This place has a beautiful view and unfortunately let down by disastrous cold sides, I think the hot food was probably OK. Please up your game but unfortunately we won't be returning.
