The Blue Bell in Conwy

Just pop in for a couple of pints. Sad to see the Australian guy who ran it for years has left. Not tried the food.

Our second time dining here, since the pub changed hands. Great atmosphere, lovely staff, great food, and wide selection of drinks. I had the Rump Steak Salad, which was very yummy indeed. The new look beer garden is AMAZING!! Great pint of Guinness too. Lots of live music on the weekends.

Have been visiting this pub for years when visiting family in Wales. Always been a pleasure visiting this pub, staff all friendly. First time visiting after new ownership, place is still great with good atmosphere. Outdoor seating now includes wooden cabins that offers alternative seating options when visiting. Found several retro gaming machines in the outside seating area when we were just about to leave, fantastic addition 😁. Keep up the good work 👏

We had a lovely Guinness in the beer garden Staff were friendly and welcoming They brought out fresh water for the dog We will return

The not so friendly pub says dogs welcome them comes over with serious bad attitude because it's raining outside and dogs are wet his carpet getting wet chucks some blue roll at us to dry dogs off explains why pub was empty next door was full

A decent pub in Conwy. Staff were friendly and the place was clean and inviting. The ale in there was nice but think it was the only ale there so be nice to have a extra one. Will be going back

I popped into The Blue Bell yesterday afternoon out of curiosity because it changed management, recently ( I had a soya milk cappuccino ). I had become vegan in June 2021. So at that time and since, it was a blessing that The Blue Bell was totally vegan. That made it stand out from all the other pubs in Conwy for me. I felt like The Blue Bell was somewhere I could be fully myself, then. But it is no longer vegan. So, for me is now not somewhere for me to be fully myself. And so I won't be coming back.

We had a club day out in Conwy, 8 men in silly hats having a day out. The Blue Bell has not long re opened with new management and were made very welcome (unlike next door!). Great price drinks and a fantastic atmosphere. Some of us fancied some food and the menu was excellent, we decided to have the ‘all day breakfast’ which was excellent! And a great price of just under £10, everything cooked perfect and served hot. Staff were all up for a laugh and the pub was buzzing due to it. Great pub with fab atmosphere, just a shame we couldn’t wait for the live band later on in the evening. Well done guys 👏

Pub very busy when we arrived,(half marathon competitors re hydrating )managed to get a table and we all enjoyed the excellent carvery good selection of veg and meats (my mouth is watering writing this ) filled by fruit crumble.triple yummy.Great staff,atmosphere and food Many thanks.

We've eaten here a lot, brought friends and visitors for the vegan food and great atmosphere. We knew that the management had changed but were still surprised to see no vegan food on the very meat orientated menu. And the quirky atmosphere, well that's been replaced by a large tv which was showing a football match to the only two customers.

What a find!!! Sunday lunch at it's best. One could only describe it as: similar to a Christmas dinner and the feeling you have after eating it. Or... Grandma's Sunday lunch. The toasties were to die for. Yes it's a pub but the Sunday lunch is worth it. Family friendly and a belter for £13 per person.

Normally I would never leave less than 3 stars for a vegan place because they are already above average IMO. But I Drove all the way to Conwy to visit this place (an hour from where I was staying) and I was super excited about a vegan pub. Unfortunately, I waited for at least five minutes, along with two other parties of two people and no one helped us. There was someone slowly taking down a food set up (Sunday roast maybe?) and they never said anything to me. It’s fine if you’re busy, but at least acknowledge the people waiting? I left because I didn’t want to drive in the dark and it was getting late and I imagine the food would also be slow. Also, the beer selection was generic. Nothing special which is another reason I didn’t stay.

Popped to Conwy for an overnight stop. Popped in for a drink and greeted with a warm welcome by the lovely Irish landlady. A great sense of humour and made to feel very welcome. Roaring real fire. Highly recommend

Went for the Sunday carvery, meat was absolutely beautiful, friendly staff and fantastic price. Definitely be going back.

Absolutely Devine! We were greeted by a lovely young lad from Birmingham he was polite and helpful. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming with a pool table and open wood fires. We ordered food and my god! Absolutely delicious. The lasagne is a must try!! The children's pizza meal was such good value for money, the pizzas are handmade and were absolutely lovely, my partner and son also got the bluebell burger with cheese and they loved it. It was all made to a high standard and after finishing we found out we were the first customers she has cooked for since taking over the pub. If I could give it more stars, I absolutely would!

Always been a great pub but new management isn’t great. Slow staff, replaced the nice draught beers with Carling and Fosters, and changed to the English version of Conwy on Facebook.

Advertisesive music but you cannot sing in a Welsh Pub in Wales. Disgusting. Conwy is the Welsh heart in Wales and if locals or visitors choose to want a sing along, nobody should be offended for them singing in their native tongue. Obviously the Management were. A great pub for locals and tourists, and a gem in the heart of Conwy. Good food, good beer and quick efficient staff. It’s a place I always bring friends to who are visiting from out of town. Keep up the good work team. Your business is much loved.

The Bluebell is a great pub with friendly staff and the food is always consistently good 🌱 The malicious reviews written by people who have seen a headline but not read what actually occurred should be taken down by tripadvisor. Shame on anyone deciding to rip a business apart without reading about the facts or having been there. The pub isn’t ’anti Welsh’ but were managing a yobbish group who were affecting other diners. I certainly would not appreciate a load of idiots being loud and obnoxious whilst I’m trying to have a meal and good on the landlord for asking them to leave.

A place frequented weekly with friends to enjoy the sunshine in the great sun trap beer garden through summer, Jared's Vegan menu has had great 👍🏼 by many of our friends we take there when visiting us, all non Vegans! A disgrace that the BBC have taken a stance to believe those that have used a social "fame" status to try and ruin a local business and family that put so much into the Conwy community!

This was glorious place with very friendly staff and seriously good food; the trouble was it was full of angry Welsh people who'd never been here before all writing bad reviews, trying to back up some bad singers who'd been thrown out.

Amazing pub, great food friendly staff, very accommodating and a stickler for sensible rules. They try very hard to ensure their patrons aren’t bullied by drunken louts singing gibberish.

My go to place for relaxed catch up with my friends, or the beer garden with my little one ,can always rely on the Landlord to keep the place safe and welcoming 😊

This establishment clearly has zero respect for the Welsh language and culture. Irrespective of the incident recently (which I was not present and therefore will not form an opinion on), last year my friend and I were kicked out for singing 'Yma o Hyd' despite being beaten by Türkiye. Dungey atmosphere, good beer lineup but steep price. Don't visit if you respect Welsh culture

The food is amazinggg, I come from a family of meat eaters, so I was unsure about the vegan food but it’s excellent. The staff are so welcoming and down to earth. The live music creates a great atmosphere and a lovely inviting environment.

A pub in Wales where you aren't allowed to sing... Vegan too... I suppose it takes all sorts, but it's best avoided if you like a bit of fun.

What lovely staff. I only popped in to see if they sold bottles of water for my dog, and the barmaid kindly filled a dish with water for me. I will definitely visit for a meal next time I'm in Conwy ❤️

Came down to the Bluebell to hear the musicians on open mic night. Some great music from local people and others had travelled from Liverpool to play. Great atmosphere.

Fantastic pub in the medieval town of Conwy. Wonderful helpful staff, they put up with our pirate shenanigans brilliantly.

Lovely old pub with a high quality selection of beers on. Great atmosphere because it was a busy lunchtime and people in there from all the age ranges and all walks of life.

All the yes to this little gem. It is so hard to find somehwere to eat on a vegan diet. Making a menu just seems to be an after thought for most places. We were so happy to find a place we could eat when visiting Conwy castle this weekend. Staff were super friendly, it was low lit and the music wasn't loud. It was a really nice vibe and the food was so good.

Wouldn't bother with this place, use to drink there years ago manager refused custom because of the way we're "dress and presented" (jeans , jumper and a body warmer) spoke to like absolute dirt hadn't even bought a drink and been judged was told if we didn't leave there and then we would be put on pub watch, The bank, The Erskine and The Albion all let us in and was happy to serve us will never go back here again

Called in after visiting Conwy town and quay. Needed to be inside to eat as lots of sea gulls about 🤣Great vegan food even though we're not. Had a Freebird burger and fries, really filling and delicious. My wife chose nachos so I swapped some chips. Spoke to the lady chef afterwards to thank her. Sounds like a really fun idea and I'm glad they're doing well. I would think it's buzzing in there at night too.

We had some food and a drink at this lovely local pub, great friendly service from the barman and very quick service from the chef. It's a vegan only menu and it all sounded fantastic, we had a couple of burgers with chips which were both very nice indeed, we shall be back

Visited the Blue Bell a couple of weeks ago for my sister's birthday. There were six of us - my sister is vegetarian and the rest of us have no particular dietary requirements. All of us really enjoyed the food - a mixture of different burgers and I had the chilli and nachos. I was totally stuffed full by the end and the chilli was delicious! We all had food and a couple of drinks and even had some extras (like the homemade coleslaw which was really tasty!) and the total bill was very reasonable. A dog-friendly, people-friendly, quirky place with special nights like Open Mic night - a fab little place with a fully vegan menu and loads of room in the beer garden!! The traditional ale on draught comes recommended too.

We visited here last year on our trip to Conwy and I was really looking forward to returning again. Visited on a Thursday afternoon and managed to get a table straight away, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was really speedy and the burgers were amazing. We are vegetarian rather than but it really is great to find places that do vegan food instead of the usual limited choices, when we visited last year even my meat eating parents were impressed so definitely recommend even if you aren’t vegetarian/vegan. If we lived closer we would be regulars.

The hamburgers were good especially the chicken one. They are dog friendly so we were able to sit inside( very rare) with our well behaved dog. Thank you for being dog friendly!

Great food although more information about how hot the nachos would be would have been nice, my wife was only just able to tolerate them.

Gorgeous food. You wouldn't think it was vegan. Best burger I've ever had! I had the squeeze burger with fake bacon and cheese. Very tasty.

What can I say, I’m far from a vegan but wooooow the vegan burger is amazing you wouldn’t even know it was vegan. I would recommend anyone to give it a try. Staff are friendly and polite.

Nice pub right on one of the main streets in the heart on Conway . Service was great and a nice beer selection to choose from . Really quiet on the afternoon that we visited but that suited just fine on this particular occasion. They have a large beer garden in the back with plenty of umbrellas but we chose the cozy interior for this visit.

Open mic Sunday. Great atmosphere and a lovely mix of ages and people. Why stay at home when this is going on? Get out and enjoy it while you can.

Myself and my partner we're travelling home and so I ordered takeaway burgers for the road. Unfortunately we got stuck in a horrific traffic jam for over 2 hours and we're delayed in collecting out order. The lady phoned twice to reassure us that they were going to keep it as warm as possible and it would still be here for us. When I turned up to collect our food and pay for it two and a half hours later the lady behind the bar insisted that it was on the house, and that the manger said we could just have them. It really made our evening and we will definitely be visiting again, in person next time. Thank you so much, and despite the food waiting for us for over two hours it was still absolutely delicious. 🙏🏼

Best vegan cheese burger and chips I have ever had.

Visited with my son and spent a very pleasant afternoon with good beer.

We stumbled upon this pub looking for vegetarian food and was surprised that it was a completely vegan menu 😲 we were like kids in a sweet shop 😄 the food was delicious the different toppings on the burgers were amazing 🤤

Terrible experience in this pub. This burgers is called Rage against the Machine! Haha.£32.50for 2 of these with a coke and shandy for drinks. Never will be going here again.

Nice pub with great beer garden at rear which is a real sun trap , total vegan menu consisting of various burgers and dogs my wife and I both had different burgers and they were delicious. Pub is also dog friendly which is a bonus for our four legged friends.

My husband and I visited here a few weeks ago as the food advertised looked and sounded delicious. What a shock it was to be served what we got! £32.50 for 2 burgers served in a polystyrene cartons. I wish I could post a picture of it. It was embarrassing. Do not go here for food.
