The best restaurants serving British food in Wales

Just visited morris of usk, after walking around the lovely shopping area and purchasing meat from the well stocked butchers ( the butchers kindly cut me extra extra thick gammon steak) and then we went to the bakery for bread pudding still hot from the oven. Although the restaurant was packed we still managed to get a table where we ordered cod and chips the cod came out like a whale, never seen fish such a big portion, both myself and my daughter we unable to eat it all. It was delicious, the only down side was we both had not room left to enjoy the lovely cakes they had on display. We will definitely be returning to try them next time. Must also add that the staff work their sock off at the restaurant but are still kind and helpful.

the food was terrible never tasted anything like it the steak tasted like cardboard and the chips were stone cold the staff were so polite i couldn't of asked for a better server she was amazing (girl in glasses and a pony tail she was so sweet and kind) she deserves a raise just by the way she was talking and was so helpful, back onto the food i ordered a cheese cake after it and it came unpresentable but it all goes down 1 way i guess defo recommend for couples and family's on a budget

Found this restaurant by chance, what a gem. Went with 4 adults and 2 children, food was fantastic, service was excellent, very friendly and attentive staff

Mind blowingly incredible service! Extremely welcoming, me, my partner and his mother came to visit wales to a rural Air BnB and came across this pub on chance! I don’t think I’ll ever find a more welcoming pub again. I couldn’t recommend the staff more. Dog friendly, and accommodating. Featuring a dog section of small treats and blankets for them. The interior was super clean and comfortable, also very visually appealing. 10/10 food, everyone needs to try this place no matter where you’re from. Thankyou from Cornwall

Not cheap but good value - great staff, comfortable seating in bar and seperate restaurant. Very welcoming.

Otra revisión que debería haberse hecho hace tiempo, lo siento. Comemos en Watkins en el Empire Hotel, siempre que tenemos familia para visitar. Nuestra última visita fue en noviembre para mi padre - en - leyes 80 cumpleaños. El personal es siempre amable y estamos encantados de que decoremos la mesa con la parafernalia 80 durante la tarde. También nos permitieron dejar un pastel de cumpleaños como sorpresa para el cumpleañero. Huelga decir que la comida era espectacular y el servicio era de primera clase. En general, todos tuvimos una noche fabulosa... Muchas gracias por cuidarnos. Volveremos en mayo (aún no reservado). Esperemos que antes de que se vaya el próximo 'Amigo'. Excellent service. Very friendly staff. Food was amazing. We had pork roast and Llanhamlach chicken… then lemon meringue cheesecake. Would recommend it all. Diolch!

Nice quiet place for a few drinks

Freshness from their butchery and fishermen supplies to their shop/restaurant and cooked on their own premises! What more can you ask for? Absolutely unique because of the owners knowledge of his product and cooking direct accordingly! Wish there were more butchers/fishmongers cooking their products onsight in this country. When we left there was the brightest rainbow and I'm sure one end was into the Rib & Oyster premises (rightly so).

A boutique guest house with great food options, there's even a bijou cinema in the basement for film nights.

Cibo, location e personale fantastico. Sia le portate di pesce che quelle di carne sono state deliziose e il servizio davvero eccellente, lo consiglio!
