Stayed with my daughter for a couple of nights before the school term restarts. Room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Very quiet with a gorgeous view of the Welsh countryside. Breakfast was lovely and filling. A real shame they don't do evening meals as it meant we ended up with takeaways in the car as I wasn't sure if we'd be allowed to bring in hot food. That aside, we enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again.

Just had a delightful afternoon with friends at Trios, Pontnewydd, for afternoon tea. The welcome was warm, the service was first class. We were reminded of having tea with our grandmothers because there was bone china and starched tablecloths. The finger sandwiches were very tasty, the warm scones melted in our mouths and the cakes were delicious. We drank copious cups of tea and coffee and didn’t stop talking and laughing. We will have to return to there for a spot of spoiling !

We arrived on a Thursday evening to a busy pub and a very warm welcome. The drinks were delicious and good value for money. The food was outstanding - served piping hot and beautifully cooked. Excellent veggie and vegan options. We all had the salted caramel cheesecake for dessert and it was the perfect finish to our meal and the end of our holiday. The staff were very friendly and we would definitely return if/when we are in the area again to try out the rest of the menu and sample more of the excellent drinks menu.

Staying in St Dogmaels for a week so popped in this little cafe midweek for lunch. The staff were lovely and friendly and the food was yummy. We each had a slice of Frittata with homemade salads and cucumber pickle, really delicious, with Chocolate brownie and a very yummy nut covered slice. Will be going back today for some of the homemade scones …..watched them being made yesterday. Thank you to the young lady who gave me her recipe for cucumber pickles. Will definitely try those on return to Tasmania.

Absolutely amazing food in a relaxed atmosphere. The service was attentive but not intrusive. I had the goats cheese tart, pheasant and bara brith all of which was perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. I can see why the bara brith is award winning. Husband had spicy tomato soup, 15 hour braised beef and Bakewell tart none of which he could fault. Such a great place for amazing food and service at reasonable prices. We'll definitely be back.

Smashing off licence/ wine bar/ wine shop in Dolgellau. Really friendly and a nice place to hang out for an hour. The owner couldn't be more welcoming, and we look forward to popping in when we are in the area. Wine's not cheap, but it's good, with plenty of rarities. Go on. Treat yourself. The Slate gin is great, and we had to come here on the way back to the Midlands since my wife had nearly chugged a bottle during our week in Aberdyfi.
