An interesting cafe under a church in Edinburgh. The cafe has limited hours and is run by volunteer ladies of the community. Their scones are tasty, coffee and tea fresh and hot. Unfortunately, their cook was taking a well-deserved week off so there wasn't any soup or hot foods. But we enjoyed visiting the cafe and recommend you support them while in Edinburgh. They raise money for worth causes.

They appear to have closed but are giving no information!!! I have a voucher as I have seen other people write here and I can't get any response or money back. It's atrocious. Surely they cannot keep socials open and be listed in Michelin guide when they've gone under by the looks of it. But why so secret with no note that they have closed??

We just popped in by chance and got a table, we live very close and had been thinking about it. Great atmosphere and service, the food is very fresh but a couple of our dishes could have been a wee bit better. The roasted cod was more poached, the octopus was nice but the baba overpowered it. A bit more seasoning too, but that's a personal thing. That said, it was lovely and would not stop us going back.

A really great experience that you should have as an SMWS member! Excellent, unique whiskeys in a special atmosphere are definitely worth a trip when you are in Edinburgh. And we didn't expect the food to be so good either - a clear recommendation even for people who aren't absolute whiskey fans!

Words can’t truly describe how amazing every aspect of our dinner was. It was our last night in Edinburgh and we definitely ended our trip on a high note. All the staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. We ordered from the A La Carte menu and from my lobster rolls starter to the cod main, it was like we were on an exquisite culinary journey which I did not want to end. Iulian, our waiter, was very helpful in answering any questions we had about our meals and Phil, the sommelier, kindly suggested wine pairings which were delightful to say the least. I’ll admit that I was a bit nervous about dining at Fhior, but the atmosphere was very unpretentious and welcoming. I will definitely return if ever in Edinburgh again. Chef Scott creates some amazing dishes! Talent like I’ve never experienced. Do yourself a favour and go if you have a chance!
