Poor customer service - two members of staff ignored us as we entered the restaurant. Asked member of staff is they were open for coffee and got the reply “what kind do you want”. Waited 20 minutes for two cappuccinos that were pure water. Member of staff had no manners in the slightest.

I wanted to like this place so badly but from the cold reception from the woman behind the bar when we walked in I knew I would be disappointed. The restaurant (conservatory) was dark, freezing cold and dingy, nothing about here was welcoming. Food took forever to come out and table service unfriendly. Fortunately the food was absolutely delicious. I don't mind dog friendly venues but I do mind when dogs are blocking access routes and their owners (I'm guessing locals) look at you like you're the problem for tripping over them. The whole meal felt awkward, like we weren’t supposed to be there. We won't be back.

We went to this place after a lovely walk on the coastal path. It's a good place to enjoy a sunny day outside, having a good meal at the tables outside. The place is beautiful, the food is good. The service could be improved a little bit as we waited a while to be served because the waiters forgot to bring the order a few times.

On the 17th may my daughter and I, after having a few days break at one of the holiday lodges nearby, were about to enter these licensed premises. We stopped first at a rubbish disposal area on the opposite side of the road to dispose of a very small black bin liner first, to keep the area clean As the wheelie bins were open and there was no sign at the entrance and it was on the other side of the road to this establishment. Suddenly an employee who did not identify himself, appeared at the entrance and in a threatening and aggressive manner shouted at me that we couldn't place rubbish in the wheelie bin as he owned it. I then asked where I should dispose of it. H e replied, "I don't F****** care". I suggested that he places a sign next to the entrance to the bin corner as I wasn't psychic and I informed this employee that his manner was threatening, aggressive and obscene. The employee again replied, I don't F****** care, I'm F***** leaving on Saturday". I would strongly advise anyone considering visiting this establishment to stay well clear until the manager can reassure the public that this man has indeed left the hotel. Mr, A Major, Dr, H Habibi

Went last minute with a group of 10 people and 2 dogs after another booking in the area had fallen through, they happily sat us for food and drinks. Really nice staff and good food with something on the menu for everyone. They were very happy to have the dogs and brought them water.

The view is outstanding! ...and the hotel and restaurant are certainly (and rightly) the best in town. We only visited the restaurant and the lounges. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't impress me: the menu is interesting and varied, the meal (spiced couscous with fish) was tasty, but unfortunately greasier than necessary. The service seemed a bit helpless and insecure. The ambiance is certainly beautiful thanks to the great view, but the decor is quite simple. I would still recommend a lunch visit to the Western Isles Conservatory to everyone.

Only good thing was the porridge I ordered. I ordered it from deliveroo. Had no indication that the panini would have pepper covering the entire bottom parts of the bread, the strawberry and peach drink tasted off and the porridge arrived with the jam I'd paid money for. 50p but still. plus my panini came uncooked. No warning before being delivered that the ovens were off just a note stuck to the packet.
