Spent a long weekend in the area and after reading some reviews we thought we would try. Absolutely fantastic, authentic meal with very friendly staff. We were staying a few miles away in a remote area, The staff offered to help us out with anything we may need or have forgot. Fantastic touch of hospitality. Our meal was incredible, 10 out of 10 service.

Campbells Coffee House and Eatery made for a lovely little pause in the day. Tucked into a charming space with warm tones and a friendly feel, it has that inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. I ordered a hot latte, and it hit the spot smooth, rich, and served at just the right temperature. The kind of coffee that wakes you up without being too bold or bitter. The presentation was simple but thoughtful, with a nice layer of foam and that comforting roasted aroma curling into the air. The cafĆ© itself was clean and relaxed, with just the right amount of ambient hum from conversations and clinking cups. It feels like a local favorite the kind of place where you could bring your laptop, catch up with a friend, or just enjoy a quiet solo moment. I didnāt try the food this time, but the baked goods on display looked tempting, and the menu offered a solid range of lunch and breakfast options for next time. Service was friendly and quick, though seating was a bit limited during the mid-morning rush. If youāre popping in at peak hours, be prepared to hover for a spot.

Booked 2 nights stay at this hotel for my partners birthday treat so we could explore the surrounding area. Arrived around 5pm after a long drive and was pleasantly surprised by how big the place was and how nice it looked at night, with the outside lights/veranda lit up. As soon as we got inside, the service and welcome that we received was lovely. After a quick tour of the room we headed downstairs for dinner, where again the service was great and the food was surprising for such a small hotel - it was amazing. Add to this that the chef quickly came out with homemade fresh out of the oven bread rolls....the smell was brilliant. The guy that looked after the front of house/served us breakfast was very good and very professional. Overall, our stay exceeded expectations and to top it off, it was dog friendly and had a lovely wee kids park in the garden. The only negative for me is that the bathroom radiator didn't work, so it was a little chilly - but things break, and I won't hold it against the hotel as these things happen and everything else in our room was lovely. Will return next year

We were staying overnight in Dunblane and took a wander through the village to see the Gold Postbox. Decided to pop in here for a cuppa. I had tea, husband coffee and a couple of tray bakes. My daughter had a panini which was fab as came with crisps, sliced apple & carrot. She loved it. Staff were fab, cosy cafe & reasonibly priced. Thankyou!

Been coming to Islay for years. Look forward to eating here on our annual trip. always a favourite with Mom, Dad and children. This year not so much. Something has clearly gone wrong. staff were miserable and food well even more miserable. Tasteless with no thought or care gone into it. we were so so sad to see this happen to Ardbeg and we wondered why? when owned by such a big luxury corporation LVMH this experience was anything but luxury.

I headed for Guardbridge in the hope of an early evening meal and perhaps a stopover nearby. The Guardbridge Arms was my destination, and I was quickly greeted and shown to a table in the bar area. Having kindly confirmed I was able to park overnight in their car park, I was able to have an alcoholic drink. There was a nice selection of bottled beers, including alcohol free lager, and a couple of beers on tap. I settled for a Scottish brewed lager. The menu had a nice variation of meals without the endless lists that generic restaurants seem to produce, and it was nice to hear the waiting staff offer child size versions of the adult meals. I'm no great fan of starters so I proceeded onto the main course, and considered the haddock and chips several times before opting for the braised beef, accompanied by red cabbage, carrots and sprouts and a jus The beef was beautiful, separating nicely when speared by my fork. The small pieces of red cabbage, the carrots and the sprouts were wonderfully cooked and complimented the bee perfectly. I'd been allowed to swap the mashed potatoes for chips and as a bonus I chose a portion of onion rings. They were cooked to perfection also. Having a dessert seemed the obvious end to a wonderful meal and I was guided towards the sundae by the waiter, he knows his stuff. Mint ice cream buried under cream and after eights. This restaurant is homely and a reminder that a family run restaurant can produce outstanding meals at fair prices. I'd hope to return in the near future to try the freshly caught haddock on the menu.

A fantastic meal and very friendly people, I cannot believe the review about the unfriendly and rude staff, I was present at the time, they were turned away because the wanted take the own food into the restaurant to eat, I donāt know of any restaurant that would allow people to take in their own food, I wold definitely recommend the restaurant and the food

We were recommended to visit and were not disappointed! The staff are superb and the venue is lovely. Our food was excellent - one of the best lunches we have had in Fife this year! The fish and chips was absolutely delicious and husband said the vegan burger was too. Definitely will be returning - thank you š

Another great night at the Rookery. Although I've eaten here before, this was my first time attending one of the many events that the Rookery had planned for spring, and it didn't disappoint. As always, the staff are very friendly and can't do enough to make sure your night is special. The Glencadam whisky dinner was a perfect work night out. Jon and his team welcomed us all and explained how the evening would progress. The Dinner consisted of four courses paired with accompanying nips of whisky from the Glencadam Distillery in Brechin. The food as always was excellent and there was a representative from the distillery that explained each whisky and why it was paired with each course which was very interesting. The night ended with johny the chef and his team coming around all of the tables for a chat which was a nice touch. This event was very reasonably priced and I'm keeping my fingers crossed they'll run it again as my work keep talking about how good it was.
