We re visited in Sept 2024 after multiple previous holiday visits. It’s now very disappointing and needs a name change as in our opinion it’s no longer a coffee shop with those escalated prices. £8 for a basic soup is just ridiculous. There’s several places in nearby Tobermory, including those with good food awards where the price is around £5.50 so £8 is insane. It seems that like many other eateries, they try to look / go upmarket to gain a higher profit, so alienating the lower income part of society. We saw no sandwiches or cake that the coffee shop used to be good at. It’s highly unlikely that we’ll be back.

We found Glengorm Castle Coffee Shop quite unexpectedly and can't praise it enough. We have visited Mull many times and eaten in many establishments on the island. Glengorm Coffee Shop beats them all. The menu was excellent and the staff most helpful. If you visit, you must see the decor in the spacious toilets. It is out of this world. We also enjoyed the walks round the estate [there is a very helpful map in the coffee shop]. We shall be back.

Wow- am loving the new developments at Glengorm coffee shop- breakfast and brunch! The food is fantastic, as is the cappuccino, reasonable prices and friendly staff giving excellent service. Always a pleasure to visit the coffee shop and the Glengorm estate- having first stayed on Mull as a 6 ish year old in a cottage, and a couple of years later in what was the old Coach house….Those were the days before electricity etc- we absolutely loved it then, and we still do!

Looks good initially, but the food was way over-priced. Servings were less than generous and not of particularly high quality. Given the very basic dishes on offer, the delay between ordering and receiving the food was far too long. No till receipt was offered on paying, and I was told that if I wanted one, it would have to be texted or emailed to me. Eh !?! I reluctantly decided to go without one. My past memories of eating here are more fond than of late and I'd think twice about eating here again.

We initially drove there following great food reviews for mid morning coffee. We were not disappointed, the scones were huge and delicious, the staff very welcoming. So nice that after our walk around the estate (well recommended, superb views), we decided to have lunch too. I took the opportunity to try Highland cattle burger and my husband had beef sandwich both equally tasty. We also bought some lamb curry and steaks to take home and these were very tender high quality meats we really enjoyed. All home produced by the farm. We would definitely return and if living locally would visit regularly.

We called for lunch because I really fancied some soup. There were a few choices and I went for Mushroom, my favourite. When it came I was chatting abd just thought that it was a bit pale - probably made with button mushrooms. Once tried, I knew that it was something else, cheesy. I'm not petty enough to send back something that I've started, so ate it. Not really my cup of tea. VERY cheesy, like a strong choice. Hubby liked his Cauliflower soup though. We bought 2 scones to take back, but found them to be dry, with very little fruit. Such a shame. The chap I spoke to did apologise for the soup mix-up. Kitchen misinterpretation it seems. It's not cheap here so I was disappointed.

Just looking at the menu makes your mouth water when you are hungry. The coffee shop or Stables is tucked in the trees with plenty of seating both inside and out. You may order and seat in or take out from a wide selection of food goods some of which needs to be cooked (for those staying at a house on the Glengorm Castle property.) Homecooked foods some of which is grown right on the 6,000 acre property. It was convenient for lunch when I was staying at Glengorm Castle (B&B;) and to get food for dinner (an option for this or to go into town).

The coffee shop is welcoming and the food is wonderful- homemade soup was exceptional and the gifts on sale unusual and reasonably priced. Wonderful art on display, a welcoming and enoyable rest from the fantatsic walking

Had a coffee and cake here outside in the sun while on a bike ride. Coffee and cake really good, great place, well worth a visit.

Interesting experience. Relatively slow service and a couple of tables who went to the counter to order after waiting a while were politely asked to return to their table and wait until a waitress came round - could not be called fast food. Having said that we only had coffee and a cake and both were good. Shop also sells a variety of local products.

I call it Debbie's place - you'll know it when you see it! - said several of the locals on Islay. A large group of us visiting the island had spent the morning dotted across it doing various different activities. I'd asked in the brilliant Islay Natural History Trust where locally we could grab lunch and was directed to the Bruichladdich Mini Market. The place itself is run by Debbie, her mum and her sister. It's the ort of place that is the lifeblood of islands the world over - half grocery shop, half cafe - all welcoming. Debbie's sister was in charge when a group of 15 of us rocked up unannounced. This would normally not have been a problem - plenty of outside seating - but that particular day the ferry had been cancelled, along with much of the stock for the shop and cafe. Undeterred the staff there made us feel welcome and pulled together a lunch which went down very well with all - children and adults alike. Think sandwiches and toasties with great coffee and a good choice of cold drinks. They also serve some amazing cakes - I'm told the rocky road was fab, I know the chocolate cake was! Although initially under pressure when we all turned up, the staff seated us happily and we had all eaten within about 15 minutes of arriving.

Visited to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The setting on the shore of Loch Fyne overlooking the ruin of Castle Lachlan is stunning and we were able to enjoy a bottle of fizz outside our shepherds huts where we would be spending the night. After a late afternoon stroll to the castle ruins we were ready for our dinner. The tasting menu served in the evening is locally sourced and is probably the best I have ever tasted. We chose the wine pairing which was excellent and presented beautifully. After a great nights sleep breakfast is delivered to your accommodation and this is another delight. Cannot fault this place
